The four-piece indie-rock outfit have released four singles since forming
A Lanarkshire band wrapped up their latest single release with a live performance in Glasgow.
Four-piece indie-rock outfit And the Bandages hail from Wishaw and have now released four singles since forming in late 2019.

The band consists of Glenn McBride, 30, on guitar and vocals and his bass-playing brother Ewan McBride, 25, Adam Papageourgiou, 30, guitar and vocals, and drummer Ross Garrard, 28.

Glenn and Adam generally share the song-writing responsibilities, with both fluctuating between lead and rhythm guitar depending on who has written a specific track.
'Whichever one of us has written the song, tends to take the rhythm and vocals for that song with the other playing lead guitar,' said Glenn.
Their latest release titled, A Poor Man's Version of Myself, was recently released as a digital download available on all platforms. It follows on from their previous releases No More Heroes, Three Day Bender, and Tough Luck.
And last Friday they performed at McChuill's music venue at High Street in Glasgow.
Glenn said: 'We formed just before Covid, probably around December 2019. We'd been rehearsing for a few months and were just about ready to start gigging when lockdown happened.

'The name – And the Bandages – is totally random. We experimented with a few different names before we went gigging and then we liked that one and it stuck, so we went with it.
'We're all from Wishaw but we rehearse in a shared unit with a few other bands in Dalmarnock [Glasgow]. It's a cool space where you can keep your guitars, amps and drum kit in and we split the rent with other bands.
'It's such a time and energy saver as we don't have to cart it all about.

'We've been gigging for about three years now and this is our fourth single release.
'The first two singles were sort of alternative rock, the last two singles are a bit more poppier, a bit lighter. I'd probably say we've a guitar based indie-rock sort of sound but it's got a lot lighter in the last year or so.
'I'm influenced personally by The Smiths and Johnny Marr, and Adam is as well. We really like Inhaler at the moment and that sort of big arena pop sound.

"I'm sure Ewan and Ross would say they have different influences to me though. Ewan likes hard rock stuff, but we have common ground so it's quite eclectic. We all like Catfish and the Bottlemen, and Fontaines DC, but we all have our own niche, so we all bring something different to the band.'
If you fancy catching And the Bandages live, their next scheduled gig is supporting English band The Outcharms at the Attic in The Garage on Sauchiehall Street on May 31.

They will also perform on consecutive Sundays, August 3 and 10, at the Foodies Festival in Edinburgh and Glasgow, respectively.
The single A Poor Man's Version of Myself can be found on Spotify here.

Queen Elizabeth 'scolded' Prince William at Trooping the Colour as she was unimpressed with him

The late Queen wasn't happy with Prince William at the 2016 Trooping the Colour. Trooping the Colour is set to take place this weekend as the Royal Family prepare to celebrate King Charles' official birthday. The event is a huge celebration for the family as they will on congregate on the iconic Buckingham Palace balcony to watch the Royal Air Force flypast. Watching the royals on the balcony is always a joy to see but it is not always smooth sailing. One memorable moment occurred back in 2016, when one member of the royal family was 'scolded' by the late Queen for an unexpected reason. ‌ The late Queen appeared to be unimpressed with her grandson Prince William while standing on the balcony during the flypast, earning him a stern word from the monarch, writes The Mirror. ‌ Princess Charlotte made her first Trooping the Colour debut not long after her first birthday and was being held by her mum Kate and young Prince George was being looked after by dad William. George - who was just three years old at the time - stood at the front of the balcony and peered over the edge to wave to the thousands of people gathered around the Palace. William crouched next to the youngster to explain the flypast, meaning he was temporarily out of sight from the huge crowd. The Queen was clearly unimpressed that the crowds wouldn't be able to get a clear view of William, and Her Majesty appeared to berate her grandson by saying: "Stand up William. Don't crouch." Of course, the prince did as he was told and rose immediately, looking rather sheepish. The telling off during the fly past was not the first occasion the monarch has had a word with William, as William explained in a Sky News documentary to mark the Queen's 90th birthday in 2016. ‌ At the time, the Prince of Wales spoke candidly about an incident in his childhood that landed him in hot water with his grandmother, as he and his cousin Peter Philips were caught misbehaving while riding a quad bike at Balmoral. He said: 'We were chasing Zara around who was on a go-kart, and Peter and I managed to herd Zara into a lamppost and the lamppost came down and nearly squashed her. ‌ 'I remember my grandmother being the first person out at Balmoral running across the lawn in her kilt. She came charging over and gave us the most almighty b******ing, and that sort of stuck in my mind from that moment on.' As heir to the throne, William made his Trooping the Colour balcony debut before his first birthday in 1984. In 2011, newly married to Kate Middleton, William took part in his first Trooping the Colour parade and rode on horseback , which he is expected to do again this year. The Trooping the Colour event, which takes place every year in June, has been held to mark the sovereign's official birthday since the accession of King George IV in 1820, except during the world wars and a national strike in 1955. In 2020, a scaled-back version of the celebration was held at Windsor Castle due to the Covid pandemic. Trooping the Colour 2025, officially known as The King's Birthday Parade, will take place on Saturday June 14, in London. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Harry and Meghan 'sent message from royals with brutal Trooping the Colour move'

After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's last Trooping appearance in 2019, the royal family at large decided to send a message to the Sussexes as a response to them quitting their royal duties The royal family sent a "significant message" to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ahead of the annual Trooping the Colour in years past, according to a royal expert, resulting in their noticeable absence on the Buckingham Palace balcony. Harry and Meghan last attended the monarch's birthday celebrations in 2019, appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside other senior royals just one month after their eldest child Archie was born. In 2020, Harry and Meghan famously quit their royal duties and started a new life in California. After they relocated to Montecito, the 2020 and 2021 Trooping the Colour celebrations were stripped back due to Covid restrictions. ‌ ‌ When the grand procession returned for 2022, Harry and Meghan were noticeably missing from the balcony line up. The following year, Prince Harry shared that 'for the first time in his life', he was not invited to attend Trooping the Colour, with only senior working royals appearing at the Palace. The Daily Mail's Richard Eden said in a television appearance in 2023:'[This is] the first year of his life that Harry hasn't been invited at all. With Harry and Meghan, we've always had a sort of 'will they, won't they' before every big royal occasion. Well, it seems like the palace has tackled this this time by just not inviting them at all. So, you know, it's significant.' According to the royal expert, the royal family wished to present a united front, even after Harry and Meghan moved to America, and hoped they would still attend some of the biggest events in the royal calendar. As Richard Eden clarified: 'When Harry and Meghan quit royal duties, I think officials were very keen to stress that they would still be invited to occasions such as Trooping the Colour so the fact they haven't been invited is very significant.' With the 2025 Trooping the Colour merely hours away, it is the belief of many royal experts and fans alike that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won't be attending this year's celebration. ‌ It has not been confirmed as yet by Buckingham Palace which royals will appear on the balcony for the RAF flypast, but it's expected that only working royals will be in attendance in keeping with the tradition of the last two years, which would rule Harry and Meghan out. The annual event of Trooping the Colour has marked the official birthday of the King or Queen for more than 260 years. The ceremony involves hundreds of horses and soldiers carrying out complex battlefield drill manoeuvres to military music. More than 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians come together for the impressive display. During the parade, the royals will travel from Buckingham Palace down The Mall to Horse Guards Parade in a procession - either on horseback or in carriages. At Horse Guards, they then watch the military display before joining the procession back to Buckingham Palace once it is over. After the parade, the royals then gather on the Palace balcony for a march-past and the fly-past by the RAF, which includes the Red Arrows, and will conclude the day's celebrations.
