'First-of-its-kind' - Burnley confirm Lazio game will be shown in virtual reality
The Clarets have teamed up with Rezzil, the global leader in VR sports technology, to deliver a 'first-of-its-kind, immersive virtual reality broadcast' of the friendly against Lazio on Saturday, August 9.
An official update read: 'Through this collaboration, fans of the beautiful game can experience the full match live in VR using the Premier League Player app on Meta Quest headsets – bringing the energy of Turf Moor directly into homes across the globe.
'This initiative positions Burnley FC at the forefront of fan engagement and digital innovation within football, showcasing the club's commitment to embracing emerging technologies that enhance supporters' experiences of the beautiful game.'
Chairman Alan Pace added: 'This partnership with Rezzil and Premier League Player allows us to share the magic of Turf Moor in a truly immersive way.

'It reflects our forward-thinking approach to fan engagement and our commitment to global supporters.
'Our mission is to provide the best experiences to fans, and by entering into the world of Virtual Reality, they can get closer to the game than ever before.'
The features include a virtual seat inside Turf Moor with a 'full panoramic pitch view', live commentary and real-time visuals. There is free access via the Meta Quest Store an no subscription required.
'We're thrilled to collaborate with Burnley FC and the Premier League Player to bring fans a truly next-generation football experience,' said Andy Etches, co-founder of Rezzil.
'Our technology has long been trusted by elite athletes to sharpen performance, and now we're using that same technology to bring it to supporters. It's a new way to watch football; it's like having a seat in the stands.'
The Lazio fixture is Burnley's final pre-season friendly ahead of their return to the Premier League.
