Will Smith is back in Miami, and he's ready to ir de fiesta.
The Oscar-winning actor and rapper, who's been readying his return to music this past year, embraced a Latin flavor for his performance at the 2025 Premio Lo Nuestro awards on Thursday night.
Smith's performance opened with a tantalizing duet with Spanish singer India Martínez. Rapping over a stirring flamenco guitar track, Smith and Martínez performed their emotional collaboration "First Love," which was released on Valentine's Day.
The "Miami" emcee was then joined by hip-hop peer DJ Khaled for a throwback performance of his 1998 hit. "You know you can't come to the 305 and just give us one. You're gonna have to give us another one," Khaled teased.
After a quick wardrobe change, Smith strutted across Miami's Kaseya Center as he rapped the song's feel-good lyrics. "Here I am, in the place where I come let go/ In Miami the bass and the sunset low," Smith boasted.
Smith and Khaled received a boost of star power when Latin pop star Thalía emerged onstage to close out the medley performance. The dynamic trio gyrated in unison for a quick salsa-style combination before launching into a spirited rendition of Miami Sound Machine's '80s hit "Conga."
Earlier this week, the Grammy-winning rapper reflected on his musical rebirth during a surprise appearance at a "First Love" release party co-hosted by Neon16.
"This is a really beautiful time for me as I'm starting to release new music," said Smith, according to footage shared on social media. "I've had a couple of years of really wonderful introspection, and I've had some beautiful revelations. I'm having a ball trying to express these things artistically."
Will Smith announces new album: Actor previews pivot back to music
Will Smith's year of soft-launching his next album
Smith's performance comes as the rapper is gearing up for his first album release in 20 years. Smith revealed in January that "Based on a True Story," which follows 2005's "Lost and Found," is expected to drop in March.
To complement the album announcement, Smith released "Beautiful Scars," a collaboration with fellow rapper Big Sean. A lengthy, reflective track that chronicles either man's journey to self-understanding, "Beautiful Scars" layers rap verses over an auto-tune heavy chorus.
Smith has been soft launching his comeback for nearly a year, releasing several singles with high-profile collaborators. The album will include those tracks — "You Can Make it," "Work of Art" and "Tantrum" — made alongside rappers Russ, Joyner Lucas and Smith's son Jaden.
Will Smith at BET Awards: Rapper performs uplifting track 'You Can Make It'
"You Can Make It," which features Fridayy and Sunday Service Choir, hit No. 1 on Billboard's Gospel Airplay Chart in June. The last time Smith held a No. 1 spot was in 1997 with "Gettin' Jiggy With It."
Smith performed the song at the 2024 BET Awards, one of a number of live performances and festivals that have also laid the groundwork for his pivot back to music.

DeVonta Smith Gives Hilarious Answer on Eagles' Tush Push

DeVonta Smith Gives Hilarious Answer on Eagles' Tush Push originally appeared on Athlon Sports. When the Philadelphia Eagles run their famous "Tush Push" play, everyone on the field has a role to play. The offensive line must get low enough to create some room for quarterback Jalen Hurts to shuffle his feet for a few yards. Advertisement For skill players like DeVonta Smith, if they aren't the ones pushing Hurts, they are usually supposed to set the edge along the way. Anything to make the play easier. Philadelphia's star wide receiver may know his role on the play, but also knows he doesn't really need to do anything to make it work. That's why in his latest interview, the receiver the team calls "Smitty" had a hilarious take on his role regarding the famous variation of the quarterback sneak. 'They really got an advantage because I ain't doing nothing but sitting there and watching anyway," Smith said on The Offseason podcast. "They be sitting over there talking about yeah, we need you to cut off the edge, alright. I'm finna sit here and watch y'all do this.' Advertisement The good news for Smith is that he will get to relax on those plays for another season. The NFL failed to ban the Tush Push for 2025 after a relentless campaign from both the league and the Eagles on either side of the aisle. With the Tush Push returning for another season, Smith and the Eagles offense are expected to keep their identity the same in 2025. And it might just help them reach another Super Bowl. Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani dings Max Fried's ERA with 2nd home run

The post Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani dings Max Fried's ERA with 2nd home run appeared first on ClutchPoints. Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star Shohei Ohtani blasted two home runs in their World Series rematch against the New York Yankees. His first came in emphatic fashion, a towering 417-foot solo shot on the very first pitch. That blast tied the game 1-1 and electrified the Chavez Ravine crowd. Later, after working a three-ball, one-strike count, Ohtani hammered another homer to right field in the sixth inning. Advertisement As a result, the Dodgers' offense dealt a heavy blow to Max Fried's sparkling record. Fried had entered the game undefeated at 7–0 with a 1.29 ERA. However, Ohtani and the Dodgers' bats pushed that ERA up to 1.92. Over five innings, Fried gave up eight hits, six earned runs, three strikeouts, and two home runs, both to Ohtani. Under the bright Los Angeles lights, this latest clash between the two powerhouse franchises once again captivated the baseball world. It served as a dramatic sequel to last year's unforgettable World Series showdown. On the Yankees' side, Aaron Judge quickly set the tone with a solo homer. His shot fired up the Yankees dugout and, for a moment, silenced the Dodgers faithful. Moreover, the reigning AL MVP, on an absolute tear this season, raised his totals to 19 home runs and a staggering .392 batting average. Trent Grisham and Paul Goldschmidt also went deep, while Oswald Peraza added to the Yankees' scoring. After Ohtani's first-inning blast and a Tommy Edman score in the second, the Dodgers' offense truly exploded in the sixth. First, Freddie Freeman doubled to left, scoring Teoscar Hernández and advancing Will Smith to third. Then, Andy Pages followed with a single, bringing Smith home and moving Freeman to third. Advertisement Additionally, a fielder's choice and an intentional walk to Max Muncy set the stage for Michael Conforto. He drew a walk, forcing in Pages and giving the Dodgers a 6–5 lead. In the seventh, Pages delivered again with a two-run single, scoring Smith and Freeman to extend the lead to 8–5. Currently, the Yankees sit atop the AL East, while the Dodgers command the NL West. Both clubs continue to dominate their leagues. Fueled by Ohtani's homers and big hits from Freeman, Smith, and Pages, the Dodgers successfully flipped the momentum in a thrilling comeback. With both rosters stacked and fanbases roaring, this series promises to be a true heavyweight showdown. Every pitch, every swing, and every inning could deliver October-level drama, and fans won't want to miss a second of it.
