When the Philadelphia Eagles run their famous "Tush Push" play, everyone on the field has a role to play. The offensive line must get low enough to create some room for quarterback Jalen Hurts to shuffle his feet for a few yards.

For skill players like DeVonta Smith, if they aren't the ones pushing Hurts, they are usually supposed to set the edge along the way.
Anything to make the play easier.
Philadelphia's star wide receiver may know his role on the play, but also knows he doesn't really need to do anything to make it work.
That's why in his latest interview, the receiver the team calls "Smitty" had a hilarious take on his role regarding the famous variation of the quarterback sneak.
'They really got an advantage because I ain't doing nothing but sitting there and watching anyway," Smith said on The Offseason podcast. "They be sitting over there talking about yeah, we need you to cut off the edge, alright. I'm finna sit here and watch y'all do this.'

The good news for Smith is that he will get to relax on those plays for another season. The NFL failed to ban the Tush Push for 2025 after a relentless campaign from both the league and the Eagles on either side of the aisle.
With the Tush Push returning for another season, Smith and the Eagles offense are expected to keep their identity the same in 2025.
And it might just help them reach another Super Bowl.
