What have been the big stories in the West this week?
At the start of the week Bristol woke up to the news of a death at the half marathon event on the weekend.ITV West Country reported 28-year-old rugby player Jon Devereux, from Chester, died after after collapsing and falling ill at the Great Bristol Run.Bristol Live's article on the sudden closure of part of the Co-op car park in Westbury-on-Trym and some walls installed there also gained a lot of attention this week. Nearby residents are now calling for an investigation after the area was cordoned off with blue walls.The body found in the search for missing 16-year-old Athrun got a lot of reaction from ITV West Country and Bristol Live audiences. Searches had been ongoing in the West Shore area of Llandudno following the sighting of a body on Tuesday.Finally, news from The Dorset Echo, Somerset Live and ITV West Country on the temporary closure of Yeovil's maternity unit gained a lot of traction this week. In a statement the hospital trust told ITV West Country, it "cannot currently safely run the unit" or "safely provide care during labour and birth".

Police launch urgent hunt for woman missing from seaside town

A mother is still missing more than a day after vanishing from a Cornish seaside town as her heartbroken family issue a desperate plea for her to come home. Claire Bennett, 49, was last seen leaving Truro railway station at 3.24pm on Monday before disappearing, according to Devon and Cornwall Police. Ms Bennett, from St Austell, is described as a blonde white female, around 5ft 10ins and of slim build. She was last seen wearing a white top, black cardigan and blue jeans. Her daughter told PlymouthLive: 'Mum, if you read this please come home. We aren't mad at you and we all bloody love you! 'You win at hide and seek. Just even send me a message to tell me you're OK. We can get through this. I promise. I love you.' Her daughter also claimed that items belonging to Claire had been found. She added: 'We found a bag we believe to be hers at the park by the viaduct in Truro. 'We were asked not to continue looking on foot for her due to the police dogs and scents etc.' A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: 'Searches and enquiries are ongoing, but we are appealing for anyone who has seen Claire or knows where she is to contact us. 'Anyone who sees Claire or knows of her whereabouts is asked to contact police on 999 quoting log 610 of 11 August.'

THIS is the shocking moment a "road rage" row erupted into a violent street brawl in London. Footage posted online shows a man being chased, tackled and kicked after putting a woman in a headlock. 4 4 The video was shared by X user @CrimeLdn with the caption: 'Road rage in Edgware Road yesterday evening.' It shows a driver in a pink T-shirt clashing with three women after stopping his car in the middle of the road. The furious man is seen stepping out and squaring up to the group, as passing cars honk and traffic builds behind him. A heated row quickly turns physical, with one woman appearing to point a metal object at his face as he grabs for it. The woman holding the object is heard angrily shouting: "That's my mum, that's my mum... I'm gonna kill you." Moments later, the pink-shirted driver is seen scrambling back into his vehicle - only to jump out again as the women appear to be blocking him from closing the car door. He seems to be wrestling one of the women, placing her in a headlock before pushing her away. The man then bolts off onto the opposite street - only to be chased down by a man - who appears to be a member of the group - who dramatically trips and falls mid-chase before regaining his footing. Footage then shows the driver being wrestled to the ground by the man. Kicks are thrown by one of the three women as the brawl rages on. Huge brawl erupts in Championship as Coventry and Hull players and Oli McBurnie grabs rival's neck Three passersby are seen trying to pull the man off the driver in an attempt to break up the fight. It's not yet clear what sparked the violent confrontation or whether police are investigating. The Sun has contacted the Met for further information. It comes as a road rage row erupted after a motorist denied hitting a car in an alleged crash. The other driver insisted there was matching scratches on both cars in a heated confrontation. The incident took place on a residential road in the seaside town of Worthing, West Sussex on Friday. Footage shows the driver of a grey Nissan denying he was involved in an accident.
