My Go-to Comfy Merrell Hiking Shoes Are on Mega Sale at Amazon
Just take Merrell, for example: This outdoor footwear brand has been my go-to for comfortable hiking shoes for quite some time. While I've run through a few different Merrell hiking shoes over the years, the Women's Moab 3 style, which is currently on sale at Amazon, remains in high rotation in my current travel wardrobe. I always reach for them when I know I'm about to be a little harder on my feet than usual, or need an outdoorsy shoe that can stand up to dirt. In fact, I'm such a big fan of Merrell that I raved about the brand to my twin brother when he needed hiking shoes five years ago, and now, he shares my love for the brand.
Jason picked out the Moab Flight—an older style that's similar to the men's Moab 3 shoes—and has been wearing them ever since. Fast-forward to this year, we visited the Galapagos together, which meant plenty of discussions on what we should pack. As we debated the best sun protection creams and bug sprays to bring on our cruise with Ecoventura, we both agreed on one thing: We'd definitely be packing our Merrell hiking shoes.
These Merrell hiking shoes are designed to tackle trails with heavy debris, making them perfect for the Galapagos' varying landscape. During the trip, we hiked on rocky terrains, but perhaps our most challenging trek was on dried lava. If you've never encountered this surface before, it tends to be jagged and a bit unpredictable. I pride myself on my balance and endurance, and still almost tripped a few times. Our Moab shoes kept us comfortable and stable during the hike due to their ankle support, which helped with stability and protected us from obstacles. The sturdy outsoles, with strong traction, kept us afoot on uneven and slippery terrain.
My brother and I both found ourselves reaching for our hiking shoes throughout the trip, and no matter what our trek entailed, these Merrell Moab 3 hiking shoes kept our feet pain-free. 'They were good for hiking, beach walks, walking on lava, and through mud,' my brother agreed, adding that his feet stayed dry and comfortable the entire trip thanks to the built-in cushioning and shock absorption.
Plus, they're waterproof, making them perfect for destinations with unpredictable weather. When I got hit by a rogue wave during what was supposed to be a dry landing, I feared I'd be walking on squishy, wet shoes the entire day—instead, these shoes shielded my hiking socks from water and dried quickly in the Ecuadorian heat.
If you, like me, can't help but judge a hiking shoe by its cover, I'm happy to report that these shoes are as cute as they are comfortable. I have the white/soft coral style, which looks more like a light pink in person. They added just the right amount of color and femininity to my otherwise earthy, neutral hiking outfits. The women's Moab 3 comes in 12 colorways, and the men's version comes in 14 colorways (I'm thinking my brother should get the Adobe Rose colorway next so our footwear can truly twin).
The Merrell Moab 3 also comes in a mid-height variation with extra ankle coverage, and is available in wide widths; however, it's worth noting that there are fewer color options available in this style. I'm generally between a size 6 and 6.5 in shoes, and found that the 6.5 fit me perfectly. If you've shopped Merrell shoes before, I'd say that this shoe runs consistent with the rest of the brand's sizing. I also appreciate that they were designed to be durable and eco-friendly, and are constructed with recycled materials and leather.
Unsurprisingly, my brother and I aren't the only fans of these hiking shoes. Both the women's and men's versions of the Merrell Moab 3 have thousands of five-star reviews. On the Merrell website, one shopper shared that they hiked for 30 miles while these shoes were 'brand new out of the box' and ended up with zero blisters. Another reviewer agreed, writing that they were comfortable 'right out of the box' with 'no break-in required.'
Another traveler even wore them to climb to the summit of Mount Le Conte in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, reporting that the 'shoes were very comfortable and I didn't slide on the slippery, wet rocks at all.' A third reviewer who wears them to walk three miles daily with her Siberian Husky wrote, 'I particularly like the roomy toe box and the deep lugs on the soles.'
Whether you're looking for extra support for your daily walks or need a sturdy sneaker to hit the trails in, you can't go wrong with the Merrell Moab 3 Hiking Shoes. And while the shoes are on sale at Amazon, it's the perfect time to grab a pair for your fellow hiking buddy, too.

I Shop Amazon Like It's My Job, and These New Fashion Arrivals Already Have a Spot in My Suitcase—From $12
August is that in-between moment where you're still sweating through your tank tops and jorts, but mentally, you're already planning boots and sweaters. It's the perfect time to start building a transitional wardrobe that works for both summer and fall, and Amazon's trending fashion section is an unexpectedly great place to start. I combed through the most stylish, under-$50 pieces that are already picking up traction this month—think: throw-on-and-go travel outfits, lightweight layers, and comfortable shoes that work across seasons. Whether you're packing for an upcoming trip, updating your airport uniform, or just trying to dress for 75 degrees and unpredictable changes, these trending finds will cover your bases without blowing your budget. The soft, stretchy fabric on this two-piece lounge set makes it ideal for long flights, pesky layovers, or spontaneous snack runs. Bonus: You can mix and match the top and bottom with other travel staples—and right now, it breaks down to just $9 apiece. Patterned midi skirts are gearing up to be fall's biggest quiet statement, and this one brings just the right amount of bold with its leopard print. Wear it with sneakers for exploring Paris or add boots and a sweater when the temps start to dip in NYC. It works just as well in the office as it does on a museum tour. Not only are these espadrille sandals affordable, but shoppers have confirmed their comfy fit too. 'These are cute and comfortable. I have walked some distance in them and no blisters,' one shared. Whether you're strolling cobblestone streets in Lisbon or heading to a rooftop dinner at home, you can pair them with everything from linen jumpsuits to flowy dresses—and they're half off. Light, airy, and versatile enough to wear during three seasons, this maxi dress is what summer-to-fall dressing is all about. It's perfect for sunny picnics with sandals, and it layers beautifully with a denim jacket or chunky cardigan when it gets chilly. These under-$20 sandals take up virtually no space in your carry-on and are comfy enough to wear all day—one shopper even wore them around Mexico and said, 'I was very pleased with the level of comfort and durability.' They're the kind of staple you'll forget you packed but end up wearing constantly, whether it's to the pool, beach, or just running down to the lobby for a snack. My personal favorite on the list, this cropped, colorblock cardigan gives just the right pop to your outfit without being over the top. It's an ideal throw-on for breezy nights, early flights, or anytime you want to look like a stylish version of cozy. These are the ultimate wear-everywhere pants thanks to their high waist, loose fit, and effortlessly polished design. Those same details make the trousers a travel MVP—dress them up with a blouse for meetings or wear them casually with a tank and slides for sightseeing. You'll be surprised how often you reach for them, even post-trip. This matching set is your go-to when you want to look cool at the airport (but feel comfy) and not like you just rolled out of bed. The fabric is soft but elevated, and the pieces are just as cute worn separately. It's great for transitional weather when you don't know if it's going to be 80 degrees or 58 and raining. The Omoone Oversized Denim Jacket is the travel layer you didn't know you needed. It instantly makes any outfit look more put-together, and it's roomy enough to layer over hoodies, dresses, or that slightly-wrinkled airplane outfit. Basically, don't board a plane without it. These comfy, suede clogs are what happens when practicality meets trendy. The slip-resistant soles and cloud-like comfort make them ideal for walking around cities, lounging at hotels, or even running errands back home. They'll look just as good with jean shorts as they will with trousers and a blazer come fall. Cargo pants will be everywhere this fall and this sweatpant version nails the trend without sacrificing comfort. The pockets are deep enough to actually carry your phone, wallet, and boarding pass, and the silhouette makes them look stylish, not sloppy. You'll want to wear them on every travel day. The great thing about maxi skirts is that they do it all. This one is light enough to pair with a tank and sandals for sweltering summer days, and it transitions easily into chillier weather with sneakers and a cropped sweater. It's the kind of skirt you end up living in for weeks. This mini dress is a closet chameleon because you can wear it as a breezy cover-up at the beach, wear it with loafers for the office, or throw it on with a jacket and sneakers for weekend exploring. It's a no-brainer to pack no matter where you're headed. Compact, structured, and surprisingly roomy, this dumpling-style top-handle bag is one of those under-the-radar Amazon finds. The magnetic closure and inner zip pocket keep your travel must-haves secure, while the neutral colors match with pretty much everything in your suitcase. Love a great deal? Philadelphia International Airport preps for busy 2026 travel year: "Get ourselves ready to welcome the world"
Philadelphia International Airport is gearing up for a busy year ahead. While the airport is no stranger to stepping up during big events in the city, Director of Guest Relations Leah Douglas adds, "2026 is definitely something else that we're all really excited about and trying to get ourselves ready to welcome the world." Preparation has certainly kicked into high gear. "We serve about 30,000 passengers every single day, so we're ready, but we are readying ourselves even more for the increase in the passengers," Douglas said. One of those ways is through facility improvements. Teams are working to repaint the terminals while also replacing floors and ceilings. New restrooms and spaces, including lactation suites, are also opening. "It's like having friends over to your house. You want everything to be spick and span, and that's what we're doing here," Douglas said. Ahead of 2026, flights to Milan and Edinburgh have already been added, and in December, the airport said Santo Domingo will be too. Aeromexico is the airport's newest airline. "We're trying to improve all the time, and we have fantastic people; it's really all about the people that work here," Douglas said. Austin Brito-Quinones is a part of the airport's newly minted customer care team. It's celebrating a year since it started this month. He helps both English and Spanish-speaking passengers. The airport said the team of over 20 people will be an instrumental resource for the influx of travelers expected from around the world in 2026.
