Charli XCX marries 1975's George Daniel in 'beautiful' Italy ceremony

Daily Record6 days ago
Charli XCX and The 1975 drummer George Daniel have got married in a stunning ceremony in Sicily, with the singer looking stunning in a white mini-dress.
Charli XCX and The 1975's drummer George Daniel have tied the knot. The couple were beaming with joy as they stood outside what seemed to be a registry office, surrounded by their closest friends and family.

The 365 singer, real name Charlotte Emma Aitchison, dazzled in a white mini-dress featuring a heart-shaped neckline, clutching her bouquet of flowers while striking poses. Fans couldn't help but rush to the comments to gush over the dress.

Their wedding took place following George's return from Ibiza, where he celebrated his stag do in style alongside his bandmates, including The 1975's frontman Matty Healy as reported by the Mirror.

Fans of the couple have been pouring out their congratulations as a snippet of the couple on their big day seemingly circulating on TikTok, with one fan commenting: "She looks so good." Another wrote: "OMG, shut up she looks beautiful."
A third shared: "Congratulations Charli and George," while another gushed: "Pop royalty just got their crown. Congrats to Charli and George!".
Despite Charli and George typically keeping their private life behind closed doors, she previously mentioned that neither of them are particularly concerned with the traditional aspects of marriage.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, Charli revealed: "We're both very chill and we kind of just want to have a party. Neither of us are particularly formal about marriage or care about the formalities of the ceremony or whatever. We just want to be together forever and have a party with our friends."
Earlier reports suggested the duo were set to jet off to Sicily with money being no object for their special day. "Charli and George fell in love with Sicily and knew they wanted to get married there," an insider revealed.
They continued telling The Sun: "It's incredibly secluded and romantic. There will be no expense spared. It's costing tens of thousands of pounds, and visually it will be mesmerising. Charli and George said they wanted a massive party, and there are no restrictions on when the bar has to close, so it can go on all night."

The source revealed the ceremony would be packed with A-list guests as the couple exchanged vows. George got down on one knee in November 2023, just 12 months after they got together.
Posting on Instagram, she uploaded a photo of the pair sharing a kiss whilst wrapped in each other's arms, captioning it: "charli xcx and george f***ing for life!"

A second image displayed Charli's sparkling engagement ring nestled in its box, positioned between two tea cups. Charli and George reportedly first crossed paths at an awards ceremony back in 2019. They were spotted posing together for several photos, along with other attendees.
Two years later, the musicians collaborated on the No Rome track Spinning, which was released in 2021. They teamed up again for Charli's 2022 album Crash and have continued to work together ever since.
Charli publicly confirmed her relationship with George in May 2022 and announced their engagement in November 2023. Since then, George has served as Charli's muse, inspiring songs on her chart-topping album Brat particularly her track Talk Talk.

Gregg Wallace breaks silence on John Torode MasterChef axe with warning to TV stars

Gregg Wallace has responded to the news of John Torode's axe from MasterChef after previously claiming he 'won't be the last', revealing what he really thinks of his former co-host Former MasterChef star Gregg Wallace has responded to John Torode's contract not being renewed at the BBC cooking programme following racism allegations. Wallace, 60, was only recently axed from the series following an investigation into his inappropriate behaviour. ‌ Banijay - which produces MasterChef - released a report into Wallace 's behaviour on the show, conducted by law firm Lewis Silkin. The company's investigation substantiated 45 of the allegations made against the presenter, the majority of which related to inappropriate sexual language and humour. ‌ Meanwhile, a small number of allegations relating to the star being in a state of undress and one claim of unwanted physical contact were also substantiated. Torode, who hosted MasterChef for nearly 20 years, confirmed recently he was the person alleged to have used racist language after an investigation into Wallace. However, Torode claimed he had no memory of making the comment and denies it ever happened. He is reportedly set to take legal actions against his former employers. ‌ Earlier this month, the BBC confirmed Torode's contract will not be renewed, saying: "The BBC takes this upheld finding extremely seriously. We will not tolerate racist language of any kind and, as we have already said, we told Banijay UK, the makers of MasterChef, that action must be taken. John Torode's contract on MasterChef will not be renewed.' The production company, Banijay, also said that it had taken the matter 'incredibly seriously'. Following Banijay and the BBC's statement, Wallace responded to the news after claiming he "won't be the last" to be hitting headlines. ‌ Speaking in a new interview, Wallace declared: "I'll tell you one thing right now: John Torode is not a racist. I've known John for 30 years and he is not a racist. And as evidence of that, I'll show you the incredible diversity of the people that he has championed, MasterChef winners, over the years." He added to The Sun: "There is no way that man is a racist. No way. And my sympathies go out to John because I don't want anybody to go through what I've been through." Torode said he learned from reading media reports about his 'sacking' from MasterChef for using a racist term but added 'it's time to pass the cutlery to someone else'. ‌ The celebrity chef, 59, said he had not heard from the BBC or the production company Banijay UK, and repeated that he still had no recollection of the accusation against him, in a statement posted on his Instagram account on July 15. He then posted a lengthy statement on Instagram, saying: "Although I haven't heard from anyone at the BBC or Banijay – I am seeing and reading that I've been 'sacked' from MasterChef and I repeat that I have no recollection of what I'm accused of. 'The enquiry could not even state the date or year of when I am meant to have said something wrong. I'd hoped that I'd have some say in my exit from a show I've worked on since its relaunch in 2005, but events in last few days seem to have prevented that.' ‌ Wallace was sacked by the BBC after a report led by law firm Lewis Silkin, and published on July 14, said that a total of 45 out of the 83 allegations made against Wallace, during his time on the show, were substantiated, including one allegation of 'unwelcome physical contact'. Speaking after the findings was revealed, Wallace said in a statement: "For eight months, my family and I have lived under a cloud. Trial by media, fuelled by rumour and clickbait. None of the serious allegations against me were upheld. "I challenged the remaining issue of unwanted touching but have had to accept a difference in perception, and I am deeply sorry for any distress caused. It was never intended. I'm relieved that the Banijay report fully recognises that my behaviour changed profoundly in 2018. Some of my humour and language missed the mark." ‌ He added: "I never set out to harm or humiliate. I always tried to bring warmth and support to MasterChef, on screen and off. After nearly 20 years on the show, I now see that certain patterns, shaped by traits I've only recently begun to understand, may have been misread. "I also accept that more could have been done, by others and by myself, to address concerns earlier. A late autism diagnosis has helped me understand how I communicate and how I'm perceived. I'm still learning. Banijay have given me great support, and I thank them. But in the end, the BBC left me exposed to trial by media and the damage it leaves in its wake." Wallace went on to say: "To those who've shown kindness, thank you. It mattered. This has been brutal. For a working-class man with a direct manner, modern broadcasting has become a dangerous place. "I was the headline this time. But I won't be the last. There will be more casualties if the BBC continues down this path, where protecting its legacy matters more than protecting people. For my part, with full legal support, I will consider my next move."

Truth behind Travis Kelce's lock screen photo of Taylor Swift revealed after couple sparked engagement rumors

Taylor Swift is not showing off an engagement ring in the photo spotted on Travis Kelce 's lock screen, it has been confirmed. According to TMZ, the pop megastar is actually wearing Kelce's three Super Bowl rings in the loved-up snap he saved as his phone background, which eagle-eyed fans noticed in his Instagram dump on Thursday. Almost two years into their relationship the Kansas City Chiefs legend has finally gone Instagram official with Swift after sharing a series of pictures of their 'offseason adventures' together. In one of the images, Kelce's phone can be seen on the table while the couple are seemingly out for dinner together. Swifties quickly noticed that his lock screen was a black-and-white photo of him and Taylor, where she is holding both of her hands up to the camera while seemingly flaunting a ring. Engagement rumors therefore became rife once again, but it is believed Travis has not yet popped the question to his girlfriend. Instead, Taylor reportedly has his three championship rings on her fingers in the lock-screen picture. More to follow.

Taylor Swift's subtle tribute to Travis Kelce after he hard-launched romance and caused fan meltdown

Taylor Swift has broken her silence after her boyfriend of nearly two years Travis Kelce finally went Instagram official with her. Swifties the world over went into instant meltdown Thursday when Travis, 35, posted Instagram pictures with Taylor, 35, for the first time. Fans began forensically dissecting the images, making note of details like the lock screen of Travis' phone, which is now a snap of him with Taylor. Some breathless rumor-mongers even shared theories that they might be engaged, based on two different white outfits Taylor was pictured wearing. As the frenzy kept gathering steam into Friday, Taylor poured fuel on the fire by paying a subtle tribute to the NFL star on her Insta Stories. She uploaded a post enthusiastically plugging the new Adam Sandler movie Happy Gilmore 2, which contains a shirtless cameo by Travis. 'Happy Gilmore 2 had me cackling and cheering the whole movie!' she gushed. 'An absolute must watch, 13/10, go watch it on @netflix as soon as humanly possible.' She added a honey emoji, making a sly reference to a scene near the end of the movie in which Travis is slathered with the condiment while half-naked. Travis briefly appears in the movie as a high-strung maître d' who works with one of the main characters, a busboy called Oscar played by Bad Bunny. At one point Travis' character throws a temper tantrum and fires Oscar, who becomes the caddy to pro golfer Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler). Near the end of the movie, Happy asks Oscar to picture his 'happy place' - and Oscar summons up an image of his Travis' character, tied up and wearing nothing but an apron with honey smeared all over him and a hungry bear approaching. One day before Taylor's post, Travis shared a number of loved-up photos with her on Thursday as part of an 'offseason adventures' Instagram dump, which marks the first time he has ever posted his girlfriend. The celebrity power couple, who have dominated headlines since they went public with their relationship in September 2023, look smitten in a number of snaps captured on nights out together. Travis and Taylor are first seen posing together in a warm setting, with other pictures showing them out for dinner, clowning around in the snow and skating on an ice rink. They also took photos with different groups of friends, one of which includes NFL reporters Charissa Thompson and Erin Andrews and their respective partners. Travis' older brother Jason, mom Donna and dad Ed also feature in the Instagram dump, as does Taylor's younger brother Austin. Travis and Jason are spotted in one of the images in a woodland setting with Austin, who appears to be holding a tree pruner. Nevertheless, Kelce's offseason dump has mainly sparked a frenzy online because of the intimate snaps he shared of Swift. The pop megastar's diehard legion of 'Swiftie' fans rushed to the comments to gush over the photos, with one writing: 'Their happiness is my happiness'. Another posted: 'SHE LOOKS SOOO HAPPY OMG'. While a third put: 'thank you for this - sincerely, all swifites'. Some eagle-eyed Swifties also pointed out how one of the photos shows that Swift features on the lock screen of her boyfriend's phone. One commented: 'why is nobody talking about how she's his lock screen!!!' 'The locked screen pic of Taylor and Trav....I just fainted,' said another. And a third joked: 'Not me zooming in on the phone screensaver.' Travis and Taylor are also seen enjoying a glass of wine with another group in a different photo Kelce and Swift have enjoyed a more low-key offseason together than last year, with the pair only making a handful of public appearances since the Chiefs' Super Bowl defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles in February. The most noteworthy of the lot came when Taylor made a surprise cameo at her man's 'Tight End University' event in Nashville last month, where she took to the stage and performed her famous 'Shake It Off' song. On a subsequent edition of his New Heights podcast, Travis explained that they had been cooking up a plan to 'have some fun' for some time. But his older brother Jason was among those who were shocked when footage emerged of the pop sensation on stage. 'Tay Tay showed up!' Travis said. 'We were in Nashville, she grew up in Nashville - she moved there when she was younger - and we had this planned for a while that we were going to have some fun with the tight ends. He continued: 'I won't say when the idea came up but we were there at "Tight End & Friends" and we knew that there was a professional like Kane Brown, who could just figure it out. 'He's a pro, he's been on stage a million times, he's not shy at all by any means... Tay just went up to him and the band and was like: "Hey if you guys are down, I'll go up there, play a song and see if we can pop the roof off this place." And sure enough...' Travis revealed that before going out to perform, Swift was backstage writing sheets of music for the band. 'I don't know, I'm not a musician but she was making sure that the band and everybody (knew it). And then just went out there without practicing and it was pitch perfect and just killed it,' Travis continued. 'She's so good with everybody and making people feel comfortable. And absolutely rocked the stage yet again, it was awesome, man.' Kelce was back on the practice field on Tuesday as the Chiefs began their preparations for the new NFL season. From Tuesday until August 13, the team will be based at Missouri Western State University in St Joseph - around an hour north Arrowhead Stadium. There, Kelce and the other 89 players on the roster will stay in dorms on campus for the duration of camp. That means three weeks without seeing their partners and families. For Kelce, that means three weeks without seeing Swift.
