‘I have done schooling with you, graduated with Babu, and work under Rahul': Revanth to Modi
Hyderabad: Recalling an interesting exchange involving him and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the last NITI Aayog meeting in the national capital, Revanth said that Modi told him while pointing at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu that his 'friend' had come.
In response, Revanth Reddy told the PM, "I have done my schooling (Revanth was a member of ABVP when his roots were with RSS) with you, graduated with N Chandrababu Naidu (he was in TDP under Naidu), and work under Rahul Gandhi."
On Sunday, Revanth shared this while addressing the release of the Telugu version of Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya's autobiography "Prajala Kathe Naa Atmakatha" (The Story of the people is my autobiography) on Sunday.
Sharing 40 years of his personal relationship with him and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, Revanth Reddy said the journey of Dattatreya, "from Gowliguda Basti to Haryana Governor had many ups and downs."
Revanth Reddy said that at the national level, former prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee was known as the 'Ajaata Shathru' (person with no enemies) and earned the respect of leaders from across the political spectrum, whether he held any position or not. Similarly, Dattatreya had earned such respect from the leaders cutting across the political parties in Telangana with his friendly demeanor towards all.
The Chief Minister said he had never seen Governors of several states on a single stage. "It looks like a parade of Governors. Former-president Ramnath Kovind, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N Chandrababu Naidu, Union and state ministers from both the Telugu states attending his book release event reflected the respect he had earned from all hues of the political spectrum.
Revanth Reddy reminisced about how Dattatreya's initiative, Alai Balai, played a significant role in uniting political leaders and providing inspiration during the separate Telangana movement. He also mentioned his collaboration with Kishan Reddy during that time. With a touch of humor and gesturing towards several ministers from his cabinet who were present at the event, he remarked, "It seems like I could hold a cabinet meeting right here." While coming to the event, no one would have felt it was a BJP meeting but an event of a respectable leader.
The Chief Minister said former minister late P Janardhan Reddy and Bandaru Dattatreya stand out among the leaders from the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. Both were owned by people as they used to respond and tried to solve their problems by calling the officials concerned.
He recalled, how Dattatreya while serving as an MP, used to issue letters for TTD Darshan, railway reservations, telephone connections, and LPG allocations to hardworking party and Sangh workers.
There was a dearth of such leadership in the twin cities, he said and stressed that the leaders from the twin cities should emulate the spirit of Janardhan Reddy and Bandaru Dattatreya.
The Chief Minister promised to emulate the same while interacting with people and resolving their problems. He said he would work for the development of Telangana. Regarding Union Minister for Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy, he said, he would "continue to respect' him but also 'question him occasionally."
Earlier, he felicitated the Haryana Governor, the lady Governor, and Vasantha Kumari, the widow of veteran BJP-Jan Sangh leader and former Sikkim Governor V Rama Rao. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Revenue Minister Dr. Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, BC Welfare and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Road and Buildings Minister Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy, former Congress chief, and MP Keshava Rao were among those who participated in the event.

Union Minister's claims about Malappuram teen's death baseless, says Kerala Forest Minister Saseendran
Kerala Forest Minister A.K. Saseendran on Tuesday (June 10, 2025) termed as "half-truths" and "baseless" the reported claims by regarding the State's powers to kill wild animals and the recent death of a teen in Malappuram due to a live wire trap laid for wild boars. Mr. Saseendran said that the Union Environment Minister was merely reiterating the allegations of the Opposition with regard to the boy's death. He denied that there was any negligence on the part of the State government as was reportedly claimed by the Union Minister. Mr. Saseendran also said that while the Chief Wildlife Warden (CWC) has powers to order killing of a wild animal which causes loss of life or property in populated areas, a standard operating procedure (SOP) has to be followed before issuing any such direction. One of the requirements under the SOP is to constitute a local area committee which shall also include a representative of the National Tiger Conservation Authority, the Forest Minister said. He said that there are similar impractical requirements in the SOP which hamper the decision to be taken by the CWC. "We sent a letter requesting the Central government to give relaxations with regard to such requirements in the SOP. However, there is no response yet on that and the Union Minister was silent about it when he spoke to the media," Mr. Saseendran contended. He claimed that such "double standards" of the Centre were responsible for the sufferings of the people living in the forested hilly regions of Kerala. Mr. Yadav, while reportedly speaking to the media in Delhi a day ago, had blamed Kerala government for the death of the boy and also claimed that the Centre has issued guidelines permitting panchayats to kill wild boars if they pose a threat to human life and property. 15-year-old Ananthu, alias Jithu, a Class 10 student, died after coming into contact with a live wire from an electric fence set up illegally on a private land to trap wild boars at Vazhikadavu in Malappuram district on Saturday.

Nearly 25 crore people have been lifted out of poverty. Reiterating his faith in the Prime Minister's leadership, the Deputy CM said, 'PM Modi has fulfilled the vision of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, who laid the foundation for 'Integral Humanism' as a guiding principle for a Viksit Bharat. Under the PM's leadership, the country is steadily progressing toward unprecedented growth and development.' Earlier today, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that India is the only economy in the world that has doubled in one decade. 'Before 2014, we were a fragile and unstable economy--India ranked 11th in the World. In the last 11 years, it has climbed and is now the fourth-largest economy in the world. When India was celebrating its 75th Independence Day, under the leadership of PM Modi, we surpassed Britain, the country which had ruled over India for almost 200 years... India is the only economy that has doubled in one decade,' said UP CM Yogi Adityanath as PM Modi completed 11 years in office. CM Yogi further said that governance is now based on everyone's satisfaction and appeasing no one; the country has witnessed this in 11 years. PM Modi first took oath as the Prime Minister of India on May 26, 2014, and is currently serving his third consecutive term. Marking the occasion, the Union government also released a comprehensive e-book detailing achievements across various sectors over the past 11 years. Highlighting the government's steps in handling COVID-19, the book said, 'Prime Minister Modi's government has always believed in setting challenging targets and achieving them before the set deadline. This can be seen across sectors, whether it is in vaccinating the entire eligible population in record time against Covid-19, recording the nation's highest ever exports in history, in the digital revolution which is taking place across India, in achieving monumental targets for rural electrification, in building world-class infrastructure or in providing drinking water facilities across households. The book has 14 chapters, highlighting developmental aspects in different social, technological and educational sectors.
