Currently ranked World No. 15, Satwik and Chirag have made three semifinal appearances this season — at the Malaysia and India Opens in January and more recently at the Singapore Open.
Their campaign, however, has been disrupted by fitness setbacks: Satwik's health concerns and Chirag's back injury sidelined the pair for several weeks.
Since returning to action, they've shown glimpses of their best, reaching the quarters at the Indonesia Open. However, they suffered a blow at last week's Japan Open, losing to Chinese Olympic silver medallists Liang Wei Keng and Wang Chang. The former world No.

1 duo will now aim to bounce back strongly when they open their campaign against Japan's Kenya Mitsuhashi and Hiroki Okamura.
In men's singles, Lakshya Sen and HS Prannoy will be hoping to rediscover consistency.
World No. 18 Lakshya has had a mixed season, with a quarterfinal at the All England being his best result so far. The 23-year-old has battled a series of injuries — shoulder, ankle, and back — and while he pushed World No.
3 Shi Yu Qi to three games in Indonesia, he suffered a second-round exit in Tokyo against Japan's Kodai Naraoka. He begins his China Open campaign against fifth seed Li Shi Feng of China.
Veteran Prannoy, who clinched bronze medals at both the 2023 World Championships and Asian Games, has slipped to World No. 35. Having skipped the Japan Open, he returns to face Japan's Koki Watanabe in the first round.
In women's singles, PV Sindhu will be desperate to turn around a disappointing season.
The former world champion, now ranked 16th, has only managed a quarterfinal finish at the India Open. Despite six months of training under Indonesian coach Irwansyah Adi Pratama, Sindhu has struggled with form and early exits — including a first-round loss to Korea's Sim Yu Jin last week, her fifth opening-round defeat this year.
Sindhu faces a stern test in her opener against Japan's sixth seed and former junior world champion Tomoka Miyazaki, 18.
Rising star Unnati Hooda, a Taipei Open semifinalist earlier this year, will take on Scotland's Kirsty Gilmour in her opening match. Anupama Upadhyaya faces Lin Hsiang Ti of Chinese Taipei.
In women's doubles, India will be represented by Kavipriya Selvam-Simran Singhi, the Panda sisters Rutaparna and Swetaparna, and the duo of Amrutha Pramuthesh and Sonali Singh.
Meanwhile, Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde will feature in the mixed doubles draw.
With the World Championships just around the corner, Indian shuttlers will be keen to make a statement in Changzhou — and gain crucial momentum on the road to Paris.

Lakshya Sen to train at French National training centre INSEP ahead of World Championships

Beleaguered Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen will reach Paris early ahead of the World Championships in August and train at their National Centre, INSEP (National Institute of Sport, Expertise & Performance). Sen hasn't quite made the quarterfinals on the circuit in recent months, but believes that his preparation has been steadfast after emerging from a tough few months, dealing with shoulder and back injuries. He is hopeful of continuing a good tryst with Paris where he made the bronze playoffs at the 2024 Olympics. 'Overall I've done good work recently. Few more weeks of good training and preparation before we get to the World Championship,' he told BWF. 'It's one of the good, more suited stadiums to my game. I'm extra motivated for the World Championship. It's a good place to play, good conditions, I've done well before. So ya hoping I continue a good run there. Important next few months,' he said, adding, 'Also going bit early to France to adjust to time zone. Will train at INSEP (National Institute of Sport, Expertise & Performance)' Sen has sent his entry for the Macau Open but there is no clarity if he will play or skip the tournament preparing for the Worlds where he has a bronze from 2021. He rued his missed opportunities against Li Shifeng in the opener at Chiba Open, but was happy with how he was moving around the court. 'Ya it was a good match. I was playing well. Starting from the beginning had a good start. Second set I didn't start very well. But got my rhythm back. I had two match points in my hand. But unlucky to not close in second set,' Sen tolf BWF. 'Third set I didn't get a good start and then it was really tough to get back into the game. And he was also quite solid. After winning second set he was much more confident. And I had to put the shuttle down in the third set. But I had my chances in the second. Overall a little disappointed but looking forward to next tournament,' he said. Sen was especially happy with his speed. 'Physically I was 100 percent today. But past few months have been tough so trying to get back to full training. Today's match was a good example of…gave me good confidence that I can play again at the highest level with that speed again the ..past few months struggled a bit, in moving that well on the court. Happy I could move just build on that,' he added.

IND vs ENG: Will India retain Karun Nair for 4th Test? Skipper Shubman Gill gives major update

India's Karun Nair (PTI Photo) Ahead of the crucial fourth Test against England at Old Trafford, India captain Shubman Gill threw his weight behind senior batter Karun Nair, who has been struggling for form in the ongoing series. Gill, addressing the media on Monday, made it clear that Nair remains a vital cog in India's batting unit and needs time to rediscover his rhythm. 'He didn't bat at his number in the first game and we have had conversations with him, and he will turn it around,' Gill said, showing faith in the 33-year-old's ability to deliver when it matters most. Nair, who was drafted into the XI as an experienced middle-order option, has endured a lean run in his recent outings, amassing 131 runs in six innings so far. With veterans such as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli bidding goodbye to the longest format of cricket just before the England tour, the team management backed Nair to bring stability amid the English conditions. However, his lack of significant scores has put pressure on him heading into the must-win clash. Brad Pitt calls Belgium's Spa his favorite F1 circuit, says watching Fernando Alonso race 'sucks the air out of your lungs'

Brad Pitt in a still from F1 Formula 1 is now headed to Spa for the iconic Belgian Grand Prix. It's also considered Max Verstappen's home race, and expectations are high for the weekend. Oscar Piastri, who has led much of the season, may soon be overtaken by Lando Norris — and more shifts could follow. Now, an onscreen F1 driver has described the iconic circuit, and it's none other than Brad Pitt . Brad Pitt describes Belgium's Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in best way possible Brad Pitt recently starred in the film F1, which was released last month. Produced by Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton, the film features Pitt as a Formula 1 driver competing on real circuits across the world. During a recent appearance on F1's Beyond the Grid podcast, Pitt discussed the various circuits he drove on during filming. But he named Belgium's Spa-Francorchamps as the most special of them all. He said, 'But the high of highs? Spa. Oh my God! 4.3 miles, 100-metre elevation change through the woods and the back. The Pouhon corner — it's double [apex]. It's off-camber and you're coming downhill into it. It's such a smooth, graceful feeling. ' He also described his experience at Eau Rouge, where he witnessed Fernando Alonso in action. 'We went to the bottom of Eau Rouge. Tim Bampton from F1 took us down to the base of Eau Rouge, and he said, 'Turn your backs, just look up the hill and wait.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villas For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Dubai villas | search ads Get Deals Undo And the cars come right by the wall. Fernando [Alonso] went by, and it literally sucks the air out of your lungs. It is unbelievable. It is unbelievable,' he said. Reflecting on the other circuits where the movie was filmed, Pitt added, 'I have a real love for Silverstone because we got our footing there and got to live there for a couple of months — how spoiled are we? And then I have a real soft spot for Abu Dhabi because we spent another couple of months there and wrapped up the film.' Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps ready to host Belgian Grand Prix The Spa-Francorchamps circuit, built in 1924, is one of the oldest in Formula 1. It's also the longest on this season's calendar, measuring 7.004 km. The Eau Rouge corner is one of the most iconic sequences in the world, where drivers go left, right, and then climb uphill through Raidillon. The circuit is also known for its unpredictable weather, with varying conditions in different sections of the track.
