Foreign Minister Commends Efforts in Returning Stranded Bahrainis Home
Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, met today with the dedicated teams that played a key role in helping bring back Bahraini citizens stranded abroad due to recent international crises. The meeting was attended by several officials from the ministry. During the gathering, Ambassador Ibrahim Mohammed Al Muslamani, Head of Consular Services, expressed deep appreciation for the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the guidance of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He praised their firm instructions to prioritize the safe return of Bahrainis who were stuck overseas and wished to come home. Ambassador Al Muslamani highlighted that thanks to the tireless efforts and cooperation of all government bodies and Bahrain's embassies abroad, as well as the support from GCC and Arab embassies, all citizens who wanted to return have now safely arrived back in the Kingdom. Minister Al Zayani praised the commitment and teamwork displayed by all those involved, noting that their success reflects the strength of the 'Team Bahrain' spirit. He stressed the importance of continuing this collaborative and dedicated approach, especially in foreign policy matters where citizens' safety and welfare must remain a top priority — particularly in emergencies and crisis situations. He also extended special thanks to the governments and embassies of fellow GCC and Arab countries, and especially Turkmenistan, for their cooperation and assistance during these difficult times. Foreign Minister participates in 49th GCC Extraordinary Ministerial Council meeting in Doha
Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the 49th Extraordinary Meeting of the GCC Ministerial Council to discuss the Iranian missile attacks that targeted the State of Qatar. A statement was issued by the Ministerial Council expressing its deep regret and strong condemnation of the missile attacks carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran, which targeted a military base in the State of Qatar. The Council considered this a clear, unacceptable, and dangerous violation by Iran of the sovereignty and airspace of the State of Qatar and the principles of good neighbourliness, as well as a blatant breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, regardless of any justifications or pretexts. The Council expressed its full solidarity with Qatar and its complete support for any measures it takes to preserve its security and stability. The Ministerial Council commended the capabilities of the Qatari Armed Forces in responding to the attack, affirming that the security and stability of Qatar are an integral part of the security and stability of all GCC states, and that any threat to any member state is a direct threat to all Council states. The Council underscored its categorical rejection of any infringement on the sovereignty of the State of Qatar or any threat to its security and stability. The Ministerial Council welcomed the announcement by His Excellency President Donald Trump of the United States of America, regarding the ceasefire, emphasising the necessity of an immediate halt to all military actions. The Council commended the efforts of Qatar to mediate and achieve the ceasefire, to maintain the security and stability of the region, and called on all parties to make joint efforts to seize the opportunity presented by the ceasefire for de-escalation and to adopt diplomacy as an effective means of resolving disputes. The Ministerial Council commended the success of HE President Trump in achieving a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, and called upon HE President Trump to exert efforts to achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza. The Ministerial Council commended the role of the Sultanate of Oman in the US-Iranian negotiations regarding the nuclear file, and appreciated the role of Qatar, the United States, and other countries that contributed to the de-escalation, stressing the importance of continuing effective mediation efforts. The Ministerial Council stressed the importance of maintaining the security of airspace, maritime routes, and waterways in the region and countering activities that threaten the security and stability of the region and the world. The delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the meeting included Ambassador Mohammed bin Ali Al Ghatam, Ambassador of Bahrain to Qatar; Ambassador Shaikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Khalifa, Director General of Bilateral Relations; and Ambassador Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Haidan, Head of the Legal Affairs Sector and Acting Head of the GCC Affairs Sector.
