Karl Lagerfeld debuts latest Disney linkup
Karl Lagerfeld has unveiled its latest linkup with Disney, where Kaiser Karl gets to play the role of Donald Duck.
From designer to duck, as the German designer morphs into an anatidae with yellow webbed feet and duckbill. Though still retaining his signature powdered white ponytail and large dark glasses. Dressed in classical Karl - black blazer, denim jeans, cathedral high-collar starched white shirt and thick English silk black tie.
An image that waddles across the backs of faded light blue jean jackets or appears on the pockets of jeans, before marching arms akimbo like the mallard de la mode over black sweatshirts in this capsule.
The two brands first debuted a Disney x Karl Lagerfeld capsule for Disney100 in 2023, featuring ready-to-wear and accessories for both women and men.
This latest collaboration continues to celebrate Karl Lagerfeld's special connection with his favorite Disney character, Donald Duck, through a unique sketch he hand-drew in the early 2000's.
'The upcoming capsule brings Karl's unique, 'Karlified' sketch of Donald Duck to life across a collectible range of pieces,' underlined the house of Lagerfeld in a communiqué.
Ready-to-wear highlights include relaxed denim, black-and-white sweaters, a neutral-toned bomber, and a casual blazer, blending playful nostalgia with contemporary style. The accessories lineup features backpacks, tote bags, handbags, and sneakers, alongside lifestyle pieces such as umbrellas, scarves, and sunglasses.
Disney x Karl Lagerfeld launches worldwide on May 22, at Karl Lagerfeld stores, online at Karl.com and DisneyStore.co.uk. The collection will also be available in selected Disney Stores and through a network of premium wholesale partners.
Based in Paris, the fashion label Karl Lagerfeld was founded in 1984, shortly after the German designer took creative control of Chanel. Today, the house is part of the G-III Apparel Group, whose other interests included Donna Karan, DKNY, Vilebrequin and Sonia Rykiel.
Known for its rock chic attitude, the brand's portfolio includes ready-to-wear for women, men and kids, plus Karl Lagerfeld Jeans, bags, small leather goods, footwear, fragrances and eyewear.
Additionally, the house has developed furniture collection and international hospitality projects. The maison's design is led by Korean-born creative director Hun Kim, while other members of the Karl family are brand ambassador Sebastien Jondeau, and sustainability ambassador, Amber Valletta.
Karl Lagerfeld retails in more than 200 stores worldwide — including premium wholesale and franchise partners — with key locations in Paris, London, Munich, Dubai and Shanghai.
The Disney group is one of the largest entertainment corporations in the world with annual sales in excess of $90 billion. Besides its own brand, Disney also controls ESPN, 20th Century Studios, ABC News, FX, Marvel Studios, National Geographic Partners, Pixar Animations Studios and Lucasfilm.

Russell Brand pleads not guilty to charges of rape and sexual assault
British actor and comedian Russell Brand has pleaded not guilty in a London court Friday to rape and sexual assault charges involving four women dating back more than 25 years. Brand, who turns 50 next week, denied two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault and one count of indecent assault. He said "not guilty' after each charge was read in Southwark Crown Court. His trial is scheduled for 3 June 2026 and is expected to last four to five weeks. Prosecutors said the offenses took place between 1999 and 2005 — one in the English seaside town of Bournemouth and the other three in London. Brand is accused of raping a woman at a hotel room in Bournemouth when she attended a 1999 Labour Party conference and met him at an event where he was performing. The woman alleged that Brand stripped while she was in the bathroom and when she returned to the room he pushed her on the bed, removed her underwear and raped her. A second woman said Brand grabbed her forearm and attempted to drag her into a men's toilet at a television station in London in 2001. The third accuser was a television employee who met Brand at a birthday party in a bar in 2004, where he allegedly grabbed her breasts before pulling her into a toilet and forcing her to perform oral sex. The final accuser worked at a radio station and met Brand while he was working on a spin-off of the 'Big Brother' reality television program between 2004 and 2005. She said Brand grabbed her by the face with both hands, pushed her against a wall and kissed her before groping her breasts and buttocks.

With 'Something Beautiful,' Miley Cyrus balances dance fervor and overly stylized pop
Life is not all glamour among the world's pop divas. After Céline Dion's health struggles with stiff-person syndrome and Selena Gomez opening up about her bipolar disorder, Miley Cyrus revealed on May 21 in an Apple Music podcast that she suffers from Reinke's edema. This rare condition has made the Tennessee-born singer's voice increasingly deep and raspy. Cyrus acknowledged the illness could affect her next tour, which has yet to be announced. Yet, the former Disney star (from the series Hannah Montana), now 32 years old, did not seem hindered during her televised performance in February for the anniversary episode of Saturday Night Live. With a powerful voice, she notably performed a duet with Brittany Howard (formerly of Alabama Shakes) of "Nothing Compares 2U", written by Prince. In the past, the "Flowers" singer – whose 2023 hit became a worldwide phenomenon – explored a range of genres: R'n'B-influenced pop on Bangerz (2013); country pop with Younger Now (2017); and FM rock on Plastic Hearts (2020). For Something Beautiful, the aesthetic leans into 1990s glamour and fashion. The album cover features the pop icon transformed into a cabaret revue leader, dressed in an outfit designed by Thierry Mugler in 1997.
