One of the mails accessed by the Daily Mail, a University of North Carolina's donor had written, 'What a total embarrassment to UNC. I am withdrawing all my donations and future donations.'
A second mail was written by a faculty member at the University of North Carolina which echoed the same emotion. The mail read as, '(not being) enough money to hire the numbers of professors we need, but paying a 73-year-old guy with no college football experience [sic] 10 millions is OK (and then letting him hire his son)?'
