David Byrne may have famously sang about being on a road to nowhere -- but he's certainly headed for the spotlight once again with his long-awaited 2025 album, Who Is the Sky?
The eleventh solo album from the legendary frontman for the Talking Heads, Who Is the Sky? features several characteristically ambitious collaborations between Byrne and prominent contemporary musicians, including the likes of Hayley Williams, St. Vincent and many other stars.
The album -- Byrne's first in seven years, following 2018's American Utopia -- promises to be a return to form for the decorated '70s rock musician. As further proof of this fact, the 73-year-old Byrne is currently hard at work planning out an expansive tour promoting the album, which is planned to run from 2025 into 2026, featuring stops everywhere from New York and Los Angeles to Germany, Belgium and the United Kingdom.
Who Is the Sky? will officially arrive on September 5, featuring a total of 12 songs arranged by the Ghost Train Orchestra. The album is set to open with Byrne's single, "Everybody Laughs," which the artist has discussed in past interviews regarding the upcoming project.
'Someone I know said, 'David, you use the word 'everybody' a lot,'" Byrne said in a press release, as reported by Pitchfork. "I suppose I do that to give an anthropological view of life in New York as we know it.'
'Everybody lives, dies, laughs, cries, sleeps and stares at the ceiling," the accomplished Talking Heads rocker continued. "Everybody's wearing everybody else's shoes, which not everybody does, but I have done."
"I tried to sing about these things that could be seen as negative in a way balanced by an uplifting feeling from the groove and the melody, especially at the end, when St. Vincent and I are doing a lot of hollering and singing together," the artist concluded. "Music can do that—hold opposites simultaneously.'

Kirk in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, and his fiancée Natalie Kuckenburg have been lighting up social media with sun-drenched captures from Greece—and it's every bit as idyllic as it looks. Wesley took to Instagram today, Friday, Aug. 8 to share several picturesque snaps of the beautiful scenery, and of course one with his lady, who looked chic in a brown cutout dress as he rocked an open button-up shirt with dark pants. 'Shoutout to our friends in Costa Navarino, Greece who hosted us a few weeks ago…' the dreamy Greek getaway content was captioned, in part. Fans in the comment section raved, writing things like, "Beautiful pictures guys! As always 🔥❤️," and "You are so perfect together. I love it all. ❤️❤️❤️"Their European escape follows a wave of engagement announcements. On July 19, Kuckenburg posted a black-and-white photo of their hands, the engagement ring gleaming in an intimate close-up, where she promised, "Always and forever." Wesley echoed the sentiment shortly after, sharing a selfie on his Instagram Stories showcasing her ring with a simple red heart emoji. The location of the proposal carries deep meaning for the couple. Kuckenburg revealed that Wesley popped the question at the Caruso, a Belmond hotel perched on the Amalfi Coast—where they first visited together three years ago. The couple quickly fell for the charm, vistas, hospitality, and even the local street cats; that spot has become part of their shared story. The pair's relationship journey began more than two years ago, when they were first spotted together in Nerano, Italy, in Nov. 2022. In "Through the Lens of Time," last week's episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Chapel (Jess Bush) and Korby's (Cillian O'Sullivan) quest to uncover the next step in human evolution led the Enterprise to a planet where ancient ruins hid a deeper mystery and an even more terrifying secret. Not all worlds are friendly, and the away team soon discovered this when they were trapped inside the ancient ruins of a planet Korby hoped to explore. Nurse Gamble (Chris Myers) turned out to be the "redshirt" this season, as the friendly, enthusiastic ensign on his first away mission had his eyes literally ripped out of his sockets. As M'Benga (Babs Olusanmokun) tried to regenerate them with what appears to be the same light therapy mask I use at home, we discovered Gamble is now possessed by the parasitic Vezda, something that is so evil that even Pelia (Carol Kane) is creeped out by it. Even more so, Marie's (Melanie Scrofano) residual Gorn DNA recognized it and had an innate instinct to eliminate it on sight. If the Gorn thinks it's bad news, I mean... In the end, the rest of the away team were able to make it out of the ruins intact, uninfected and alive. Much to Korby's dismay, they leave the ruins behind, mostly untouched. Gamble had pretty much died long before he ever returned to the ship, and it was up to M'Benga to inform the young man's family of his untimely death.
