Next they talk about the latest in the Boston Celtics sale. The next round of bids are due at the end of the week, and there are four groups currently engaged in the process. They are: 1) Steve Pagliuca, a Celtics minority partner and the likely front-runner; 2) the Friedkin Group, which owns two European soccer teams; 3) Philadelphia Phillies minority owner Stan Middleman; and 4) STG managing partner William Chisholm. It's unclear whether all the groups are fully funded, and the group discusses the oddities of this sale. The Celtics are one of the league's most visible, successful and valuable franchises, but they don't come with the real estate or media opportunities that are driving sports team valuations right now.
Next they talk about random takeaways from conversations at the Sportico House at SXSW. She won the 2018 WNBA championship with the Seattle Storm and led the league in total rebounds on two occasions. Advertisement Paris spoke with Sky reporter Karli Bell ahead of the team's rematch against the Indiana Fever on Saturday. She spoke about 2024 WNBA All-Star forward Angel Reese and what has impressed her most. 'She has another level. When it's time to play, she competes at a level, and you can teach anything you want to teach in sports, but that competitive edge that you bring every day is either you have it or you don't,' Paris said. 'She just has it to the top level, even with all the pressure she has on her. That's what most impressed me about her and what continues to impress me about her.' Reese averaged 13.6 points and a WNBA-record 13.1 rebounds per game as a rookie, which landed her a spot on both the All-Star and All-Rookie teams. She is averaging a double-double once again this season and has four games of 12 or more rebounds. On Saturday, the Sky will host the Indiana Fever at the United Center in Chicago for their first game of the Commissioner's Cup. They will also be looking to avenge the 93 to 58 defeat that they suffered on opening day of the 2025 season. The game will tipoff at 8:00 p.m. EST. He talked about Cardoso and how the team plans to move on without her for a portion of the season. "I think, from our standpoint and from Kamilla's standpoint, she's doing everything that she can do to be present and here for us," Marsh said. "When she goes off, then she'll handle her responsibilities, then she'll be back with us. We'll hold it down as best we can until she gets back." "I expect that a KD deal would happen right before the draft because you want to include draft capital in the deal," Gambadoro said. "So a KD trade would come up this month, sometime before the draft, probably close to the draft if it's gonna happen.' Durant, 36, has one year left on his contract.
