Moto G86 gets certified on its way to launch
The upcoming Moto G86 was showcased in leaked official-looking renders back in April, and then, earlier this month, its full spec sheet got outed as well. So it's clearly coming soon, this one - and to further prove that point, it's now been EEC certified in Europe, as well as MIIT and 3C certified in China.
Last year, the Moto G85 was sold under that name in global markets and as the Motorola S50 Neo in China, so we wouldn't be surprised at all if the same thing happens again this year with the G86 being offered in China as the S60 Neo. Moto G86 leaked renders
The MIIT certification clarifies that the device will have a 6,720 mAh battery in China but only a 5,200 mAh battery elsewhere. According to previous rumors, the G86 will have a 6.67-inch pOLED screen with "1.5K" resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 4,500-nit peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 7i on top.
It will be powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 7300 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage. On the rear will be a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP ultrawide. The device will launch running Android 15.
A pricing leak from March told us to expect the G86 with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage to be priced at €330 in the Eurozone. Motorola Moto G85

Report: Sony won't build any more flagship Xperia phones
Sony had been building its Xperia flagship handsets in three manufacturing facilities. Two of these plants are located in Thailand and one is in China. According to Sony's manufacturing websites, all three of these factories no longer list smartphones among the devices that are built at these locations. The first Xperia flagship to be assembled by a third party is the new Xperia 1 VII. We just reviewed the Xperia 1 VII and gave it a score of 7.2 out of a possible 10. For the second consecutive year, Sony has decided not to ship its flagship smartphone to the U.S. Sony's inability to snag a deal with any U.S. carrier has been one of the big reasons why the Xperia line didn't catch on in the States leading Sony to stop shipping its phones to the third-largest smartphone market in the world. One thing for sure is that having a third-party build the Xperia 1 VII won't result in a lower price for the phone. The price tag on the device reads £1,399 for the model with 256GB of storage. This is the same starting price for last year's base model which also was equipped with 256GB of storage. The global version of the Xperia 1 XI is available via Amazon. This is a GSM phone which means it won't work on Verizon. With T-Mobile, the phone does support key 5G bands used by T-Mobile including the important n41 2.5GHz band. The latter delivers the carrier's faster 5G Ultra Capacity service. It also supports the n71 band delivering the slower nationwide 5G over 600MHz low-band spectrum. If you are a T-Mobile subscriber and must have the Xperia 1 VI, purchase the XQ-EC64 model. The latter works with 7 out of 12 T-Mobile bands including sub-6GHz and mmWave. The Sony 1 VII is manufactured by a third-party firm according to a new report. | Image credit-PhoneArena As for AT&T, the network support isn't as strong as it for T-Mobile . The XQ-EC72 model of the Xperia 1 VI for Asian Pacific markets supports 10 out of AT&T 's 17 frequency bands including nationwide 5G over 850MHz and mid-band 5G using C-band frequencies. The crazy thing about Sony's inability to get traction for its Xperia smartphones is that Sony is a consumer electronics powerhouse. Before the popular PlayStation video game platform, Sony was known for huge hits such as the Walkman. This was a portable device for playing music that included earphones and a cassette player. Later versions featured a CD player. Sony is also a major supplier in the smartphone industry. The company supplies phone manufacturers with the best-selling line of image sensors for smartphone cameras. As of Q4 of last year, Sony had a 55% share of this business and the company expects to take 60% of the market this year.

New leak reveals unexpected details about Samsung's upcoming top-tier tablets
Samsung will have a very busy summer, but that has become tradition for the South Korean company, which remains committed to launching two flagship series each year. After introducing the Galaxy S25 series earlier this year, Samsung is now gearing up for another major launch, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Besides these two foldables, Samsung is also expected to refresh its flagship tablet series with at least two new models, Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. Rumor has it that the tablets aren't ready for release yet and they're unlikely to hit shelves along with Samsung's new foldables, but that's no surprise considering that most of the company's high-end tablets were announced in fall. Unlike last year when Samsung launched a 'Plus' Galaxy Tab S10 version, this year the South Korean giant decided to limit the series to just two models: Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra. The former makes a comeback after one year of hiatus, while the latter continues the string of 'Ultra' tablets Samsung launched since 2022. The first information leaked about the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra indicates that both tablets will be equipped with Dimensity 9400 processors, MediaTek's flagship chipset. Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra has a 11,200 mAh battery, just like the previous Ultra models | Image credit: PhoneArena New details about Samsung's flagship tablets reveal that at least one of them will have a bigger battery, which is unusual. Ever since Samsung launched the first Ultra tablet, the Galaxy Tab S8, it always included a 11,200 mAh battery. However, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra seems to feature a slightly larger battery. The folks at GalaxyClub found evidence that Samsung's next flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, will have a 11,700 - 12,000 mAh battery. The exact capacity will be announced by Samsung, but the rated capacity of Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is 11,374 mAh. In comparison, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra has a rated capacity of 10,880, although the advertised battery capacity of the tablet is 11,200 mAh. This will be the first time that Samsung upgrades the battery of its Ultra tablets. Even if that seems a minor improvement, it makes way for more improvements in future models.
