WATCH: Mofokeng rounds keeper to seal first pre-season win for Orlando Pirates
This match was the Buccaneers' fourth and final pre-season game, and they needed a strong performance to boost their confidence ahead of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.
After losing their first match against Bolton Wanderers last week, Orlando Pirates had played two successive draws before facing Granada. In the first half of the game, the team looked positive and could have taken the lead, but their lack of finishing let them down.
In the second half, the Sea Robbers continued to press for a goal, but again struggled with finishing. While the Spanish side also created some chances, they were unable to convert them.
Mofokeng was introduced in the second half as Pirates searched for the winner. Their persistence paid off when Patrick Maswanganyi blasted a shot past the Granada keeper after the ball fell at his feet.
The Buccaneers continued to push for a second goal, which came in the 90th minute when Relebohile dribbled past the keeper, giving Orlando Pirates their first victory of the pre-season. Having played in four matches in Spain, 'President Ya Ma 2000' scored two times.
The 20-year-old has recently been in the spotlight regarding his future, and this match may have been his last in Pirates colours.

Motherwell's Kwayiba aiming high after Pirates move
Growing up under difficult circumstances in Motherwell, Gqeberha, Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates forward Sinoxolo Kwayiba's faith and discipline have seen him soar to the highest level in South African professional football. The former Chippa United forward, at only 25, has already donned the green and gold colours of the national team, earning five caps thus far under the tutelage of Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos. Kwayiba has played two seasons in the country's top-flight league, the Premier Soccer League, as his professional career started taking shape at Chippa United. After an impressive showing for the Chilli Boys, the youngster recently penned a multiyear contract with SA's biggest club, Orlando Pirates. He is the second Motherwell-born youngster to become a Buccaneer in recent times after left-back Bongani Sam blazed the trail a couple of years ago. In an exclusive interview, Kwayiba opened up about how he was able to carve a successful professional career despite early life struggles. He attributed his success to faith and discipline as he defied the odds on his way to signing for the Soweto giants. 'I had a strong belief in God and my ability to play at the highest level. 'I knew that if I wanted to turn my life around, I needed to work harder than any soccer player,' Kwayiba said. 'I made a decision very early that football is the only work I want to do. I ensured that I focused on my schoolwork and football.' Having joined Pirates in the transfer window, Kwayiba travelled with the team to Spain for the preseason. He described his move to Pirates as a dream come true and said he hoped this would give him the best chance of representing the country in the African Cup of Nations and Fifa World Cup. 'Joining Orlando Pirates is a dream come true. I hope and pray that it gives hope to all the children of Motherwell and Gqeberha,' Kwayiba said. '[Signing with Pirates] has changed my life and my family hugely, and the boys [back in Motherwell] should keep working hard in achieving their dreams, be it soccer or any other sport. 'I wish to make the Bafana Bafana Afcon team in Morocco as well as the World Cup team, and for me to achieve that, I need to continue to maintain my goal-scoring form and be consistent.' The 2025/2026 Premier Soccer League is set to get under way on Saturday with the MTN8 competition. Pirates will get the tournament rolling when they face Polokwane City at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto. A week later, the Betway Premiership will also get under way. — SportsBoom

RUMOUR: Orlando Pirates star Mofokeng wanted in Brazil
Orlando Pirates will likely need to study some big offers for Relebohile Mofokeng for the rest of the ongoing winter transfer window. The 20-year-old has admirers far and wide, including from Europe, Saudi Arabia and the Americas. The latest name linked to the Buccaneers superstar is the 2023 Copa Libertadores winners, Fluminense. Orlando Pirates' best XI WITHOUT Mofokeng and Nkota revealed? According to unfounded local rumours, 2023 Copa Libertadores champions Fluminense are admirers of Orlando Pirates star Rele Mofokeng. The 20-year-old wide attacker scored 15 goals and supplied 12 assists in a scintillating 2024-2025 campaign. As ever, he also shone on the big games and on the big stages. Fluminense has boasted some big names in its history, including Romario, Ronaldinho, Marcelo and Thiago Silva. It remains to be seen whether there is any truth to these rumours, however. Saleng paints a grim picture of his Orlando Pirates future Zakhele Lepasa could be the fourth player to trade Pirates for Chiefs in recent seasons after Bongani Sam and new signings Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako. 29-year-old Nkosinathi Sibisi will wear the captain's armband at Pirates in 2025-2026. He was a key figure last season alongside breakout star Mbekezeli Mbokazi in the heart of defence after Thabiso Sesane was struck down with a long-term injury. What happens when Sesane returns will be fascinating, as he might even dislodge the new captain. That's a nice problem for new boss Ouaddao to have, though. Sibisi made 42 appearances last season across all competitions, including 25 in the league. Orlando Pirates get R31 million EFT, but it comes at a HUGE cost! SA ‘champions' beat Aussies in last-ball thriller to qualify for legends final
The South Africans will now face Pakistan in the final in Birmingham. AB de Villiers and his South African 'champions' cricket team will play in the World Championship of Legends final after edging Australia by one run in their semi-final in Birmingham, England on Thursday. The South Africans will take on Pakistan in the final on Saturday, also at Edgbaston, after the latter team advanced when India withdrew from their semi-final, due to political tensions between the nations. While De Villiers didn't score too many runs in the semi-final (6), after topping the run-scoring charts at the tournament, including two big centuries, South Africa posted a competitive 186 for eight in their 20 overs. The big contributors were former Proteas players Morne van Wyk (76 off 35) and Jon-Jon Smuts (57 off 41). Australia were then reduced to 185 in their 20 overs, De Villiers and Wayne Parnell exacting a run-out on the last ball of the innings, leaving the Aussies one run short of tying with the South Africans. The best batters for Australia were Shaun March (25 off17), Chris Lynn (35 off 20), Darcy Short (33 off 29) and Dan Christian (49 off 29). The best SA bowlers were Hardus Viljoen (2/41 in four) and Parnell (2/33 in four). SA 'champions' squad: AB de Villiers (capt), Aaron Phangiso, Chris Morris, Duanne Olivier, Henry Davids, Hardus Viljoen, Hashim Amla, Imran Tahir, Jacques Rudolph, Jon-Jon Smuts, JP Duminy, Morne van Wyk, Richard Levi, Sarel Erwee, Wayne Parnell
