PLTR, TSLA, NVDA- Daniel Ives Expects ‘Very Strong 2Q Tech Earnings Season'

Wedbush Securities analyst Daniel Ives is highly optimistic about the technology sector's second quarter earnings season. He believes tech companies will report very strong Q2 results, driven by multiple artificial intelligence (AI) tailwinds. Ives mentioned that strong momentum in AI chips, AI software, and enterprise applications is already benefiting, and will continue to benefit tech stocks through the second half of 2025, with AI's impact still in its early stages.

Ives ranks #896 out of 9,889 analysts tracked on TipRanks. He has a 51% success rate and an average return per rating of 8.90%. The firm's 'Top Tech Picks' for the remainder of 2025 include Nvidia (NVDA), Microsoft (MSFT), Tesla (TSLA), Palantir (PLTR), and Meta (META).
Ives Calls AI the 4 th Industrial Revolution
Ives argues that AI is fundamentally reshaping the tech sector and that its benefits are just beginning to emerge. 'We have barely scratched the surface of this 4th Industrial Revolution,' he wrote in a research note, describing it as a golden era for technology. Over the next three years, enterprises and governments are expected to spend approximately $2 trillion on AI-related projects, he added.
Additionally, Ives believes Wall Street is 'underestimating' the scale of future AI-driven growth, as AI use cases are rapidly expanding with increasing adoption. He added that AI is shifting from the testing phase to the consumption phase, which serves as a major catalyst for software companies.
Furthermore, Ives anticipates a favorable policy environment, with ongoing geopolitical risks and tariff uncertainties expected to ease. He highlighted the White House's approval allowing Nvidia to resume its H20 AI chip sales to China as a 'key strategic positive.' Based on this, Ives expects the Trump administration to soften its stance on tariffs.
Interestingly, Ives also explained that AI spending has a broad ripple effect across the sector, stating that for every $1 spent with Nvidia, an additional $8 to $10 is invested elsewhere in the tech ecosystem.
Which Is the Best Tech Stock to Buy?
We used the TipRanks Stock Comparison Tool to determine which stock among Ives' top picks is most favored by analysts. Investors should conduct thorough research before choosing to invest in any of these stocks.
Currently, META, MSFT, and NVDA have earned Wall Street's Strong Buy consensus rating, with META offering the highest upside potential among them.

How Being A Multipotentialite Can Be A Superpower At Work

Astika Gupta | Product management coach and founder of The Product Seat | Former Big Tech Sr PM at Meta, Microsoft, eBay | Model | LinkedIn. Early in my career, I used to scrub my weekend life from my Monday persona. I'd spend Saturdays walking fashion runways, reading scripts to produce short films or posing for fashion photoshoots, then show up to work on Monday in a blazer, ready to talk OKRs and quarterly product goals. I thought I had to keep those worlds separate. Tech was about logic and staying in your lane. What would they think if they knew I loved the stage, the camera and the mic? But here's what no one told me: That stage presence would one day help me command boardrooms. That storytelling instinct would let me build compelling product visions. The vulnerability I learned as a performer would allow me to lead teams with empathy. Today, I'm the founder of a career coaching and consulting company that helps women break into tech and thrive in leadership roles. I've worked in product management at Meta, Microsoft and eBay, and I continue to coach clients around the world. But I am also still an actor, a model, a coach and a creator. The parts of me I once tried to hide have become the foundation of my brand. Silicon Valley rewards innovation. But true innovation doesn't come from echo chambers. It comes from the collision of disciplines, cultures and experiences. Multipotentialites, by nature, live in that space of creative friction. We're constantly learning, adapting and synthesizing. And that is the very skill set the future of work demands. Being a product leader with a background in performance taught me how to read the room, not just the data. It taught me to listen beyond words, spot nonverbal cues in stakeholder meetings and create roadmaps that tell a story. Coaching taught me to hold space for ambiguity. And entrepreneurship taught me how to weave all my passions into something greater than a job: a purpose. Too often, high-achieving women and minorities in particular are told to simplify their stories. 'Pick a lane,' they say. But what if your lane doesn't exist yet? What if you're here to build it? We need more leaders who reflect the multifaceted reality of life today. Multipotentialites can bring emotional depth, strategic flexibility and unexpected insight. We don't just build products—we build bridges between ideas that rarely meet. But even beyond innovation, there's a deeper reason to embrace your multidimensional self: fulfillment. You only get one life. And if you spend it suppressing your creativity, your joy or your curiosity just to be seen as serious, you might end up resenting the very job that once excited you. I've seen it firsthand: clients earning multiple six figures, leading high-impact teams—yet quietly burning out because they've left their other identities starving. That resentment doesn't stem from the job itself. It comes from what the job demands that we leave behind. So, here's the invitation: Identify what your current role gives you. Maybe it's financial stability, a strong network, industry credibility or access to global impact. Acknowledge that. Then ask yourself: What part of me is still unfed? Is it the writer, the dancer, the parent, the traveler, the activist? You don't have to quit your job to feed it. Maybe it's one hour a week. Maybe it's a personal project. Maybe it's simply permitting yourself. We're told not to chase too many dreams. But I've learned to make space for them instead. You don't need to monetize every passion. You don't need to explain every interest. You just need to live a life that feels whole. Multipotentiality isn't about doing everything at once. It's about not amputating parts of yourself to fit a mold. When you let all your identities breathe, your leadership becomes magnetic. Your creativity expands. And your life—your one precious life—starts to feel fully lived. So, if you're standing at the intersection of multiple passions, unsure which road to take, consider this: Maybe your power isn't in choosing just one. Maybe your superpower is the intersection itself. Forbes Coaches Council is an invitation-only community for leading business and career coaches. Do I qualify?

NVDA Broken Wing Butterfly Trade Targets A Profit Zone Between 150 and 160

Nvidia (NVDA) is pulling back towards the rising 21-day moving average and is still in a solid uptrend. Today we're looking at a broken wing butterfly trade that creates a profit zone between $150 and $160 with income potential of around $85. Yesterday, the stock closed around $167. Sign Up Now! A broken wing butterfly with puts is a butterfly spread with long put strikes that are not at the same distance from the short put strike. A broken wing butterfly has more risk on one side of the spread than on the other. You can also think of it as a butterfly with a 'skipped strike'. The trade is usually set up as a slightly bullish trade. A broken wing butterfly with puts is usually created buying a put, selling two lower puts and buying one further out-of-the-money put. An ideal setup of the trade is to create the broken wing butterfly for a net credit, in this way, there is no risk on the upside. The main risk with the trade is a sharp move lower early in the trade. NVDA Broken Wing Butterfly Example On NVDA, an August 15 expiry broken wing butterfly could be set up through buying the $165 put, selling two of the $160 puts and buying the $150 put. Here are the details of the trade as of yesterday's close: Buy 1 August 15, $150 put @ 1.25 Sell 2 August 15, $160 put @ 3.10 Buy 1 August 15, $165 put @ 4.85 Notice that the upper strike put is 5 points away from the middle put and the lower put is 10 points away. This broken wing butterfly trade will result in a net credit of $10, which means that if NVDA stays above $165, the profit will be $10. On the downside, the maximum loss can be calculated by taking the difference between the two widths (5) multiplied by 100, minus the premium received. That gives us 5 x 100 - 10 = $490. The maximum gain can be calculated as 5 x 100 + 10 = $510 The ideal scenario for the trade is that NVDA stays above $160 for the next month. The main expiration profit zone is between $155 and $165. The trade starts with delta of 4, so has a slight bullish bias to start, but that will flip to slightly negative delta closer to expiry if NVDA is still above $165. In terms of risk management, I would set a stop loss of 20% of the capital at risk, or if NVDA broke below $155. This is what the trade looks like as of today: You can see the main risk in the trade is a drop in price early on. The blue line is the profit and loss at expiration and the purple line is the T+0 line. T+0 just means 'today'. So, we don't want the stock to get into the profit tent too early. What about in three weeks' time? How does the trade look then? Looking a pretty good at any price above $155. Summary This strategy should move fairly slowly unless there is a sharp drop in the stock price. You can do this on other stocks as well but remember to start small until you understand a bit more about how this all works. Mitigating Risk With any option trade, it's important to have a plan in place on how you will manage the trade if it moves against you. A stop loss of 20% might make sense in this scenario. If NVDA is below $160 near expiry, there will be assignment risk Please remember that options are risky, and investors can lose 100% of their investment. Instagram adds new protections for accounts that primarily feature children

Meta is introducing additional safeguards for Instagram accounts run by adults that primarily feature children, the company announced on Wednesday. These accounts will automatically be placed into the app's strictest message settings to prevent unwanted messages, and will have the platform's 'Hidden Words' feature enabled to filter offensive comments. The company is also rolling out new safety features for teen accounts. Accounts that will be placed into the new, stricter message settings include ones run by adults who regularly share photos and videos of their children, along with accounts run by parents or talent managers that represent children. 'While these accounts are overwhelmingly used in benign ways, unfortunately, there are people who may try to abuse them, leaving sexualized comments under their posts or asking for sexual images in DMs, in clear violation of our rules,' the company wrote in a blog post. 'Today we're announcing steps to help prevent this abuse.' Meta says it will attempt to prevent potentially suspicious adults, such as people who have already been blocked by teens, from finding accounts that primarily feature children. Meta will avoid recommending suspicious adults to these accounts on Instagram, and vice versa, and make it harder for them to find each other in Instagram Search. Today's announcement comes as Meta and Instagram have taken steps over the past year to address mental health concerns tied to social media. These concerns have been raised by the U.S. Surgeon General and various states, some of which have even gone so far as to require parental consent for access to social media. The changes will significantly impact the accounts of family vloggers/creators and parents running accounts for 'kidfluencers,' both of which have faced criticism for the risks associated with sharing children's lives on social media. A New York Times investigation published last year found that the parents are often aware of their child's exploitation or even participating in it, by selling photos or clothing their child wore. In The NYT's examination of 5,000 parent-run accounts, it found 32 million connections to male followers. The company says the accounts that are placed into these stricter settings will see a notification at the top of their Instagram Feed notifying them that the social network has updated their safety settings. The notice will also prompt them to review their account privacy settings. Meta notes it has removed almost 135,000 Instagram accounts that were sexualizing accounts that primarily feature children, as well as 500,000 Instagram and Facebook accounts that were associated with the original accounts it had removed. Image Credits:Meta Alongside today's announcement, Meta is also bringing new safety features to DMs in Teen Accounts, its app experience with built-in protections for teens that are automatically applied. Teens will now see new options to view safety tips, reminding them to check profiles carefully and be mindful of what they share. Plus, the month and year that the account joined Instagram will be displayed at the top of new chats. In addition, Instagram has added a new block and report option that lets users do both things at the same time. The new features are designed to give teens more context about the accounts they're messaging and help them spot potential scammers, Meta says. 'These new features complement the safety notices we show to remind people to be cautious in private messages and to block and report anything that makes them uncomfortable – and we're encouraged to see teens responding to them,' Meta wrote in the blog post. 'In June alone, they blocked accounts 1 million times and reported another 1 million after seeing a safety notice.' Meta also provided an update on its nudity protection filter, noting that 99% of people, including teens, have kept it turned on. Last month, over 40% of blurred images received in DMs stayed blurred, the company said.
