SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. — Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) is making a significant investment to expand production worldwide. For crawler excavators, three main sites will see approximately $261 million invested to expand crawler excavator production to meet growing customer demands, mitigate supply chain risks and reduce reliance on long-distance logistics. These sites include Shippensburg, Penn., USA; Changwon, South Korea; and a location in Sweden.
Article content
In Shippensburg, Volvo CE will not only add crawler excavator production but also expand wheel loader production to include large wheel loaders. Currently, soil and asphalt compactors and mid-size wheel loaders are manufactured at the Shippensburg factory.

Updates will be made to the existing space within the factory to install assembly lines, integrate more automation technologies into the manufacturing process and train employees, with the goal to be production-ready in the first half of 2026.

Investment aims to bolster global machine availability

In a rapidly evolving market, strategically enhancing production capacity and flexibility will allow the OEM to meet current and future customer demands more effectively, according to Melker Jernberg, Head of Volvo CE.
Article content
'We must respond to growing demand, and we're excited to expand our facilities to serve our customers better,' said Jernberg. 'This investment underscores our commitment to quality and innovation, allowing us to deliver even greater value.'
Article content
By expanding production capabilities in key markets, Volvo CE will reduce dependency on any single site and become less reliant on long-distance logistics. Supply chain risks will also be mitigated by expanding domestic supplier bases, allowing the OEM to more nimbly manage any economic or regulatory challenges.

Jernberg says that fostering collaboration with local suppliers and customers will better position the company for sustained growth and innovation without compromising the high standards that Volvo CE equipment is known for.

North America to see reduced lead times and improved machine supply
Article content
'Bringing excavator production to North America and growing the range of wheel loader models built here has always been part of our long-term industrial plan, so it's exciting to finally share this news with our employees, dealers and customers,' said Scott Young, Head of Region North America. 'This increase in production capacity means that over 50% of our North American machine supply can be built here in Shippensburg, resulting in shorter lead times while also creating opportunities for supplier growth.'
Article content
Volvo CE acquired the Shippensburg site in 2007 from Ingersoll Rand and relocated its regional headquarters there in 2012. On top of recent investments, Volvo CE will invest approximately $40 million locally over the next five years. Today's announcement is a win for central Pennsylvania, as it shows the company's continued commitment to the local community and its economic vitality.

'Operational Friction': Warner Bros Discovery Stock (NASDAQ:WBD) Jumps as Some Worry About the Split's Impact

Entertainment giant Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) recently made a move that was, seemingly, inevitable: to take its linear cable content and spin it off from its streaming video content and put the two packages into their own operations. And investors were over the moon about this, and remain so today. Not everyone is so certain this idea will work, though. But shareholders were definitely on board, and sent Warner shares up nearly 4% in Tuesday afternoon's trading. Confident Investing Starts Here: Easily unpack a company's performance with TipRanks' new KPI Data for smart investment decisions Receive undervalued, market resilient stocks right to your inbox with TipRanks' Smart Value Newsletter Barclays analyst Kannan Venkateshwar, who has nearly a five-star rating on TipRanks, noted that the move may produce 'operational friction,' especially given how some of these operations may need to be restructured from the ground up to separate. Venkateshwar pointed out that Max is actually bundled with Warner's linear content, so separating the linear content from the streaming content would likely require those bundles to be reworked as well. Moreover, the separation also fails to address the matter of $37 billion in outstanding debt that Warner still carries. Warner is putting the linear stuff into the hands of Chief Financial Officer Gunnar Wiedenfels, who noted that 'global networks' would have most of Warner's debt. The streaming and studios business, meanwhile, would maintain a smaller, '…but not insignificant…' portion therein. And Then the Bondholders Saw the Bag They Were Holding One more problem emerged out of the Warner split: bondholders. Three years ago, Warner sold what was one of the biggest 'high-grade corporate bonds on record,' reports noted. Now, those who bought in are left with a disastrous choice. Warner is buying back up to 40% of those bonds, thanks to a $17.5 billion bridge loan. But no matter whether holding or selling, the bondholders now have a bigger problem. Part of the condition of selling, reports note, is the loss of 'key safeguards' on other Warner securities they might own. But those who keep the notes to keep those safeguards will find their position in the creditor line pushed back should that become an issue later on. Cooperation pacts, the reports note, will also be tougher to form, meaning that bondholders that actually keep their debt will have fewer protections overall. Is WBD Stock a Good Buy? Turning to Wall Street, analysts have a Moderate Buy consensus rating on WBD stock based on nine Buys and eight Holds assigned in the past three months, as indicated by the graphic below. After a 18.53% rally in its share price over the past year, the average WBD price target of $12.43 per share implies 25.3% upside potential. Why Rigetti Computing Stock Is Skyrocketing Today

Rigetti Computing (NASDAQ: RGTI) stock is roaring higher in Wednesday's trading thanks to multiple positive catalysts. The quantum computing specialist's share price was up 10.9% as of 3:30 p.m. ET. Shares had been up as much as 20.6% earlier in the daily session. Rigetti's valuation is getting a huge boost today after Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang made comments suggesting that quantum computing technologies could be ready to take off. The stock is also getting a lift from better-than-expected inflation data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) today. Nvidia's Jensen Huang suggests quantum computing could be ready to take off Nvidia kicked off its GTC Paris developers conference this morning, and CEO Jensen Huang had some promising things to say about the trajectory of quantum computing technologies. "Quantum computing is reaching an inflection point," Huang said in his keynote speech for the conference this morning. The CEO's comments kicked off another powerful rally for quantum computing stocks, and Rigetti's valuation has surged thanks to the catalyst. The latest inflation data looks like a bullish indicator for Rigetti stock The Bureau of Labor Statistics published May's consumer price index (CPI) inflation data this morning, and the results seem to bode well for Rigetti Computing stock. Core CPI, which is a measure for inflation that looks at prices for a combination of goods and excludes food and energy expenses, rose at a 2.8% annual rate last month. Core CPI inflation ticked up just 0.1% compared to April's figure. Meanwhile, economists had expected that annual inflation for core CPI would be up 2.9% and that monthly inflation would be up 0.2%. Core CPI came in cooler than expected, and this seemingly supports the notion that the Federal Reserve is seeing economic data that leaves the door open for an interest rate cut this year. If the Fed does deliver a rate cut, that would likely be a strong positive catalyst for Rigetti Computing and other speculative growth stocks. Should you invest $1,000 in Rigetti Computing right now? Is Intel the Turnaround Stock of 2025 and a Buy Now?

Intel Corporation INTC stock plunged 70% post chip foundry venture, yet Lip-Bu Tan's appointment as new CEO and recent 10% stock rise hint at a potential turnaround. Is it a good buy now? Let's see. Intel May Rebound in 2025 for Four Key Reasons Both Intel and NVIDIA Corporation NVDA produce graphics processing units (GPUs) that are essential for modern computing, including machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). However, NVIDIA's CUDA software and Blackwell chips are highly sought after by developers and customers. The superior products from NVIDIA have allowed the company to secure a substantial share in most major AI segments, including data centers (read more: Is NVIDIA's Rise in Value a Sign to Invest in NVDA Stock?). Of course, it's challenging for Intel to compete with NVIDIA, but the former has more room to grow with a market capitalization of under $100 billion compared to NVIDIA's $3 trillion plus. Moreover, Intel's affordable AI accelerators can rival NVIDIA's. Intel is spending billions of dollars on enhancing its AI capabilities and may enter the market with energy-efficient chips. In the last two years, Intel has spent over $50 billion on upgrading its chip-manufacturing facilities. Such staggering infrastructure costs have made investors nervous due to the unprofitable foundry business. Intel's foundry business continues to face tough competition from the likes of Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited TSM, or TSMC, and Samsung. However, TSMC and Samsung located in Southeast Asia, have manufacturing centers in China. The ongoing trade tensions between the United States and China could disrupt their business. In contrast, Intel's chip-making hubs are primarily in the United States, allowing domestic semiconductor companies to send chip orders to these facilities and bypass trade restrictions. Despite losing the top semiconductor title, Intel generated revenues of $12.7 billion in the first quarter of 2025, outpacing arch-rival Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.'s AMD $7.4 billion. This serves as a clear indication that Intel is making strides in the semiconductor industry and is well-positioned for a comeback. Last but not least, Lip-Bu Tan's appointment as the CEO of Intel has been well-received by market pundits, as his stint in the semiconductor industry has been productive. Tan's initiatives to streamline operations, deliver a competitive AI platform, and spin-off assets would restore stability at Intel and help the company return to its past glory. Is Intel Stock Worth Buying Now? With Lip-Bu Tan leading Intel's foundry recovery and AI accelerators gaining ground among competitors through cost advantages, holding onto INTC stock seems judicious. Intel's business revival is becoming more probable, and brokers are showing optimism by increasing the short-term price target for INTC to $22.42 (up 9.5%) from $20.48. The highest target is $62, indicating a potential 202.7% upside. However, Intel's net profit margin is negative at 36.2%, while the Semiconductor - General industries have a margin of 49.5%, suggesting financial instability due to expenses surpassing revenues. Therefore, new entrants, for now, should wait for improved financials before considering INTC stock. Intel has a Zacks Rank #3 (Hold).
