Rosé's ‘Messy' hits the track: New song for F1 film soundtrack
SEOUL, My 10 — Blackpink's Rosé has released her highly anticipated song 'Messy' for the upcoming film F1: The Movie yesterday.
The track, launched by Warner Music Korea, is now available on YouTube and various streaming platforms.
The singer took to Instagram to share her excitement.
'So this is my first time working on a movie soundtrack, and I am so extremely honored and excited beyond imagination to be a part of this incredible movie. I hope you all love it, live it, dream it until @f1movie comes out JUNE 27,' she posted.
Fans will be happy to note that Rosé will also be part of the star-studded soundtrack for F1: The Movie, set to premiere June 27.
The film stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a retired Formula One driver, and Damson Idris as rookie racer Joshua Pearce. Together, they aim to revive a struggling Formula One team.
F1: The Movie will also feature Formula One legend Lewis Hamilton as a producer, with Joseph Kosinski directing.
'Messy' will also feature on F1: The Album, the official soundtrack, also dropping on June 27.
The album includes 17 tracks from artists like Ed Sheeran, Peggy Gou, Don Toliver, and more.

Singaporean jailed six months in Taiwan for stalking Golden Melody Award winner Olivia Tsao Ya-wen
TAIPEI, June 12 — A Singaporean woman has been sentenced to six months in jail in Taiwan for stalking and harassing Golden Melody Award-winning singer Olivia Tsao Ya-wen, after her obsession with the star escalated into threats and public confrontation. According to The Straits Times, Cassandra Low, a woman in her 30s, was found guilty by the New Taipei District Court of endangering the personal safety of Tsao, and of offences including stalking, harassment and public insult. The court's verdict, published on June 5, followed months of troubling behaviour that forced the singer and her agent to leave their homes. Low, described in court documents as a long-time fan of Tsao, began contacting the singer via personal emails and messages on Facebook and Instagram from November 2023. However, her behaviour took a dark turn after she was blocked on social media by Tsao. According to the judgment, Low reacted by posting threats and abuse directed at the singer, her family, and her agent. In one Facebook post, she wrote: 'I can be very aggressive. The more stubborn she is... don't blame me for whatever I do to her parents.' In another, she said: 'Blocking me, see how I slowly let her agent die.' The online threats eventually drove both Tsao and her agent to leave their residences in New Taipei City out of fear for their safety. The situation intensified in February when Low followed Tsao to Banqiao high-speed rail station after learning the singer was travelling. She grabbed Tsao's luggage and phone in an attempt to pressure her into restoring contact. In a video recorded by Tsao, Low is seen physically blocking her and demanding a reconciliation until police intervened. The court sentenced Low to six months in prison. She may choose to pay a commuted fine of NT$1,000 (S$43) per day of her sentence, but the court noted that her high salary as a Singaporean — reportedly more than twice that of a typical Taiwanese worker — meant a financial penalty alone would not reflect the severity of her actions. Low will be deported once she serves her sentence or pays the full fine. Tsao, 38, responded to the verdict in a June 11 post on social media, saying: 'This is the most comforting piece of news I have received recently,' and thanked her supporters and legal team for their help. Better known by her Chinese name Tsao Ya-wen, the singer performs primarily in Taiwanese Hokkien and won the Best Female Taiwanese Singer award at the Golden Melody Awards in 2021. She has previously spoken about feeling 'helpless and uncomfortable' when fans crossed personal boundaries, though she did not identify individuals at the time.

(EPA Images pic) CHUNCHEON : The world's most popular boy band is heading for a reunion: K-pop megastars RM and V from BTS were released today after service 18 months of South Korean military service, prompting a fan frenzy. The seven members of BTS, South Korea's most lucrative musical act, have been on a hiatus since 2022 while they separately undertake mandatory military service, required of all South Korean men under the age of 30. Hundreds of fans gathered near two army bases just outside of the capital Seoul where band leader RM – recently named 'Favourite K-pop Artiste' at the American Music Awards – and singer V were discharged. 'To be honest, there were many difficult and painful moments. But during my service, I truly felt how so many people were protecting the country in our place,' RM told reporters. V said military service was 'a time for me to reset and rebuild both my body and mind'. 'Now that I've done that, I truly want to run straight to ARMY as soon as possible,' he said, referring to the band's official fandom name. When asked by reporters what they wanted to do after discharge, both replied, 'perform'. 'What we want most right now is to perform again,' said RM. 'We're working hard on the new album so we can return to the stage as soon as possible.' In total, four BTS members will complete their service this week. 'I've been travelling to Korea so many times, but this is actually the first time I'll see V.' In addition to the army releases, Friday is so-called FESTA – a celebration that marks the anniversary of the group's debut and typically draws thousands of global fans to Seoul. Mendoza told AFP she plans to attend fellow member J-Hope's concert on Friday, plus join other BTS FESTA events. All the band members signed new contracts with HYBE in 2023, and once SUGA is released on June 21, analysts expect profit-driving reunion activities. 'In the case of HYBE share prices, the current market consensus is seen as not fully reflecting BTS's impact,' Lim Soo-jin, an analyst at Daishin Securities, told AFP. Despite an ongoing police investigation into the company chairman for suspected insider trading and a recent raid by authorities, analysts say HYBE's shares are up, rising by 10% over the past week through June 9. GDP impact Prior to their mandatory military service, the boy band generated more than 5.5 trillion won in yearly economic impact, according to the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute. That accounts for roughly 0.2% of South Korea's total GDP, according to official data. HYBE has hinted at a BTS comeback this year, but has also said the members 'need time for reflection and preparation'. 'Normally, the process goes from song production to album release, then a tour,' Lee Jae-sang, CEO of HYBE, told a shareholder meeting in March. 'But since BTS have already become global top-tier artists, we are continuing discussions about their vision and what's next,' Lee added. Outside HYBE headquarters in Seoul, banners from fans read: 'Thank you for making even the waiting feel joyful.' The building was wrapped with the slogan 'WE ARE BACK', the official logo for the upcoming BTS FESTA. HYBE shares opened nearly 3% higher this morning, reaching their highest level in two years.
