Pink Floyd's Classic Albums Return To The Charts Together
Pink Floyd charts multiple albums this week in the U.K., with At Pompeii returning to No. 1 and The ... More Dark Side of the Moon back in the top 10. (MANDATORY CREDIT Koh Hasebe/) Pink Floyd live at Hakone Aphrodite, Kanagawa, August 6, 1971. (Photo by Koh Hasebe/)
Quite a few legendary rock bands manage to remain on the charts in Western markets thanks to one compilation or a generation-defining successful album, but the number of acts able to do so with more than one collection at a time, on any consistent basis, is much smaller. Pink Floyd is included in that elite group.
The pioneering rock outfit frequently places multiple releases on the rankings in the United Kingdom at the same time, and this frame is no exception to that trend. Several of the band's titles return in what has turned out to be a very busy moment for Pink Floyd in the country where the musicians who make up the act got their start.
Two Pink Floyd classics rock their way onto one ranking apiece in the U.K. The Wall reenters the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart at No. 34, which is its sole placement this week.
Wish You Were Here already appears on that tally, and this frame, it shoots up more than 10 spaces, jumping from No. 30 to No. 17. At the same time, it also reappears on the Official Albums Download chart, returning at No. 77.
As is often the case, The Dark Side of the Moon remains Pink Floyd's most successful project in the U.K. — at least in terms of the number of rankings it can be found on. This frame, the classic collection rises on three tallies, even managing to reenter the Official Rock & Metal Albums chart's top 10, as it surges to No. 9. The only list where it slips slightly is the Official Albums Download chart — which is, interestingly, where Wish You Were Here reappears.
Pink Floyd's most recent release, At Pompeii - MCMLXXII, is still doing very well a month into its run on the U.K. charts. The set gains ground on three tallies, returning to the top 20 on two of them and climbing back to the summit on the Official Rock & Metal Albums roster for another turn in the spotlight.
Last week, the live effort sat in third place on the rock-only tally, but now it rockets back to the throne, earning its second stint at No. 1 in just the five frames it has spent somewhere on the genre-specific roster.

The Beyoncé Effect: The Grammys Switching Up Country Album Categories Leads To Major Side-Eye
Source: Emma McIntyre / Getty The country world is shooketh after Beyoncé came through and crushed the buildings. In March 2024, Beyoncé dropped her country album Cowboy Carter and won the Best Country Album Grammy, and became the first Black artist to win the award. Country artists (who…how can I say this…drive pickup trucks with big tires and cuff the brim of their baseball caps to the point of strangulation) got all upset and forgot that Queen Bey was born and raised in Houston. So to appease the unseasoned folks among us, the Grammys announced that they will have two new categories ahead of the 2026 Grammy Awards: Best Traditional Country Album and Best Album Cover. Related Stories The Best Country Album category has been renamed Best Contemporary Country Album, while Best Traditional Country Album has been added, according to a Grammys news release. Yes, the Grammys have segregated the little award categories so that non-conventional country artists (read Black people) don't win the Grammys for Best Country Album because those who dress up to celebrate a war that they lost can't handle it. Don't believe me? In 2016, Beyoncé performed her song 'Daddy Lessons' at the Country Music Awards. Alan Jackson reportedly walked out, and Travis Tritt was so upset that he went to social media to cry, 'I love honest to God country music and feel the need to stand up for it at all costs. We don't need pop or rap artists to validate us.' Fam, they act like Beyoncé went on stage as Sasha Fierce and spit: 'Hips tik tok when I dance/On that Demon Time, she might start an OnlyFans (OnlyFans).' She literally sang a country song on a country stage, but I know, this isn't about race. According to the Grammys' new definitions, traditional country will be considered '…more traditional sound structures of the country genre, including rhythm and singing style, lyrical content, as well as traditional country instrumentation such as acoustic guitar, steel guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, piano, electric guitar, and live drums.' Traditional country will also include sub-genres, like western, western swing and outlaw country. Sounds like a whole lot of words to say participation trophy. AmIrite? Last year, Survivor alum Rob Mariano stole the show as a Traitor, and now a different Rob — Rob Cesternino, also from Survivor — will be trying to make a similar impact on viewers. More from GoldDerby Ripped from the headlines: How the showrunners of 'Monsters,' 'Apple Cider Vinegar' and 'Good American Family' mined truth for drama Dakota Fanning said 'yes' to 'The Perfect Couple' the moment she heard Nicole Kidman was involved, without knowing anything else about the show Roy Wood Jr. on how 'Lonely Flowers' became his most personal special to date Rounding out the cast are notable names with no strong ties to reality TV: K-pop singer-songwriter Eric Nam, actor Michael Rapaport, comedian Ron Funches, and Donna Kelce, the mother of NFL bros Travis & Jason Kelce. With Travis and Taylor Swift's high-profile relationship still going strong, might Tay Tay be tuning in each week to watch her potential future mother-in-law take center stage on The Traitors? As always, Alan Cumming will oversee the drama as the villainous Traitors plot each night to secretly murder the unsuspecting Faithfuls — until they're banished from the castle. Cumming won two Emmy Awards in 2024 as a host and producer of Peacock's whodunnit competition show. "We all really care so much about this show and the production standards," Cumming recently said. "We care about the experience people have on it. We're very passionate about it in a way that, I don't think in my experience, has always been the case when you promote a show."
