Shedeur Sanders Prank Callers Facing Backlash After New Video Released

Yahoo12-05-2025

Shedeur Sanders' long wait to be drafted mercifully ended with the 144th overall pick on Saturday, when the Cleveland Browns selected him in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
His unexpected slide may have ended there, but the damage from Thursday and Friday could not be undone. In fact, it got even worse on Saturday when a new video emerged of the brutal prank call Sanders received while he was waiting to be drafted.

In a video posted by Deion Sanders Jr. on Friday, it was revealed that some internet pranksters fooled the Colorado Buffaloes quarterback prospect — who was projected before the draft to be a first-round pick — by calling him on a private number and impersonating a member of the New Orleans Saints organization telling him he was going to be drafted.
The pranksters succeeded in getting Sanders' hopes up, but after realizing the ruse, the 23-year-old responded with great maturity.
"Nobody got that number but coaches, strictly for that reason," Sanders said. "Why get mad... They want you to have a certain type of reaction."

It turned out that the trolls were seeking more than just a reaction from Sanders. They inexplicably posted the full video of the prank to an anonymous account on X around noon on Saturday as Day 3 of the draft began, showing their faces as they made the call.

Fans delivered extreme backlash to the perpetrators of the joke, taking Sanders' side amid his publicly embarrassing draft experience.
"Imagine releasing this thinking people are going to laugh with you," wrote a response on X.
"Now hopefully the internet does what it does and traces them to the coach that gave that number away to be pranked, so that coach can be fired," said a reply with more than 2,000 likes. "This is cruel (expletive) even if you feel Shedeur is being humbled, you don't kick a man while he's down."
"These (expletive) are the low of the low," said another disgusted fan. "They havent accomplished anything so far in life so they try and mess with someone else's dream! Garbage!"
"Not a Sanders fan at all and was enjoying the fall in the draft, but now I find myself hoping he puts in the work and is good in the league," one X user wrote. "This prank ain't it and they probably made a huge mistake releasing this video."

Nicki Minaj disses Shannon Sharpe on ‘Made In NO' remix

The post Nicki Minaj disses Shannon Sharpe on 'Made In NO' remix appeared first on ClutchPoints. Nicki Minaj's remix of Lil Wayne's 'Banned From NO' from his Carter VI album featured some interesting lyrics addressing Shannon Sharpe. Sharpe has been a permanent fixture in the news for the past few months and it's clear that Minaj has been paying attention as she said, 'If I send a pic of Shannon, you ain't that sharp.' Minaj took to her X account after the song was released to bring even more attention to the diss, playfully trolling both Sharpe and his Nightcap co-host Chad Ochocinco, saying: 'If I send a pic of Shannon, you ain't that sharp!!!! Yeah ****** you thought I forgot that 'Nicki who' *** you did? 🤣😩🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO j/k 😐 Ochocinco almost caught a strizzy just by being around yo crazy tail self 🤣😩🤣😩🤣 #BannedFromNORemix' While Shannon Sharpe has been ubiquitous for his viral interviews and his sports take, he has been embroiled in controversy as he was hit with a $50 million sexual assault lawsuit in April. The 13-page lawsuit was filed by a 'Jane Doe' in Nevada, alleging Sharpe had committed assault, sexual assault, battery, and sexual battery, and that he engaged in the intentional infliction of emotional distress. The lawsuit states that she and Sharpe started a relationship in 2023 after meeting at a gym in Los Angeles. The complaint alleges that Sharpe recorded their sexual activities, something without her knowledge, and that he was sharing the videos with others without her permission or knowledge. The suit also alleges that Sharpe threatened to kill her after she attempted to share her location on her iPhone with her friends. On April 24th, Sharpe stepped away from his ESPN duties while also defending his innocence. His statement read: 'My statement is found here and this is the truth. The relationship in question was 100% consensual. At this juncture I am electing to step aside temporarily from my ESPN duties. I will be devoting this time to my family, and responding and dealing with these false and disruptive allegations set against me. I plan to return to ESPN at the start of the NFL preseason. I sincerely appreciate the overwhelming and ongoing support I have received from my family, fans, friends and colleagues. Shannon Sharpe' ESPN also released a statement about Sharpe's temporary departure from his role with the company, stating, 'This is a serious situation, and we agree with Shannon's decision to step away.' Fans Worried for Travis Hunter After New Video Surfaces

Travis Hunter has already hit the practice field for the Jacksonville Jaguars after being selected No. 2 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. He participated in rookie minicamp from May 9–11 and began OTA offseason workouts with the team on Monday. Hunter, a two-way player, entered the draft nearly at the top of draft boards because of his ability to play both sides of the ball at the highest level. The former Colorado Buffaloes standout was selected seven picks ahead of the first true wide receiver, Tetairoa McMillan, who went to the Carolina Panthers. Advertisement On Monday, footage of both Hunter and McMillan was posted side by side, showing their experiences with their new teams so far. Despite not running the same route, McMillan's route looked crisper, and Hunter struggled to come out of his break. Fans who saw the post headed to the replies and shared their worries for Hunter. "Worried about Travis," one wrote. "That was horrible by Travis," a fan said. "Quickly Realizing that The NFL isn't like college. It's good he realizes this now." "One guy is a WR that's played WR his whole career, one guy is an athlete trying to play WR," another wrote. "It's pretty obvious and I swear it's not a knock on Travis. Travis was able to get away with a lot of (expletive) in college bc it's college, that (expletive) won't fly in the league I promise you that." Advertisement "lol but remember they said tmac is not WR1…," added another. "Gotta learn them routes bro bro," said a fan. "It's the jaguars organizations fault. They just turn good players into bad one once drafted," a fan added.
