CBS has officially launched Boston Blue, the newest addition to the Blue Bloods universe, with Detective Danny Reagan , played by Donnie Wahlberg , relocating from the NYPD to join the Boston Police Department. The series carries forward the legacy of the Reagan family while introducing an entirely new setting and cast in Boston, and begins production this fall.Joining Wahlberg is Sonequa Martin-Green as Detective Lena Silver (initially named Lena Peters in early announcements), a high-caliber officer from Boston's influential Silver family. The Silver family includes Gloria Reuben as District Attorney Mae Silver, Maggie Lawson as Police Superintendent Sarah Silver, Marcus Scribner as rookie cop Jonah Silver, and Ernie Hudson portrays their patriarch, Reverend Peters, as per a report by US Magazine.A major update arrives with the recasting of Sean Reagan, Danny's youngest son. Actor Mika Amonsen now brings the adult version of Sean to life, joining the Boston police force as a patrolman. He replaces Andrew Terraciano, who portrayed the role for 14 seasons of Blue Bloods. Amonsen represents a new chapter for Sean, one in which he seeks to uphold the Reagan legacy on his own turf, alongside his father in a new jurisdiction, as mentioned in a report by US Magazine.Developed by Brandon Sonnier and Brandon Margolis, who also serve as executive producers, Boston Blue is produced in collaboration with CBS Studios and Jerry Bruckheimer Television. Jerry Bruckheimer, KristieAnne Reed, and Donnie Wahlberg are also among the executive producers. Anthony Hemingway directs the pilot episode—a glimpse into a complex procedural setting rooted in American policing tradition.CBS has slated the Boston Blue premiere for October 17, 2025, occupying the familiar Friday 10 p.m. ET time slot formerly held by Blue Bloods. Episodes will be released weekly on CBS and available for streaming the next day on Paramount+, continuing the franchise's footprint into the digital sphere. The new drama finds Danny Reagan starting over in Boston, leaving behind his long-held roots in New York. He partners with Lena Silver to tackle investigations and internal politics in Boston PD. While the storyline highlights the Silver family's entrenched law enforcement legacy, the critical father–son bond between Danny and Sean offers a heartfelt throughline as both seek a fresh beginning while honoring tradition. The official logline promises compelling new casework, moral dilemmas, and the same grounded police ethics that fans admired in Blue Bloods, with a renewed focus on family, justice, and institutional duty. While Donnie Wahlberg is the only confirmed returning regular, fan hopes run high for cameos by original cast members like Tom Selleck's Frank Reagan, Marisa Ramirez's Maria Baez, and other members of the Reagan clan. Wahlberg has teased such possibilities, citing the close proximity of New York and Boston as well as long-standing ties to his onscreen family—alluding to guest appearances in future episodes. The series blends familiar Blue Bloods themes—Saturday family dinners, moral complexity, and justice—with fresh dynamics. Expect new character arcs, institutional tensions between Boston and New York traditions, and emotional growth as Danny renegotiates his identity away from home while Sean stakes his claim in law enforcement on his own terms—and perhaps, alongside his father.Boston Blue positions itself as more than just a spinoff—it's a strategic continuation of a beloved franchise moving forward. With Donnie Wahlberg anchoring the series and an ensemble cast steeped in law enforcement legacies, the show aims to appeal to both longtime Blue Bloods fans and newcomers. Premiering October 17, it promises to extend the world fans grew to love while forging its own path in Boston. For loyal viewers craving more Reagan family drama, and for those intrigued by a new city, new cases, and renewed relationships, Boston Blue arrives this fall to carry the tradition forward.Boston Blue is a new spinoff series from CBS set in the Blue Bloods universe. It follows Detective Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) as he transitions from the NYPD to the Boston Police Department, starting a new chapter while continuing the Reagan family's law enforcement legacy.CBS has announced that Boston Blue will premiere on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 10 p.m. ET, taking over the time slot previously held by Blue Bloods.

Angelina Jolie proudly backs son Knox at Muay Thai bout while Brad Pitt remains out of the birthday picture

Angelina Jolie and her son Knox Jolie-Pitt. Image via:Angelina Jolie made a striking appearance over the weekend as she stood proudly ringside to cheer on her son, Knox Jolie-Pitt, during his Muay Thai competition. The event coincided with Knox's 17th birthday, which he shares with his twin sister Vivienne. While the teenager clinched a win in the ring, one figure was notably absent from the celebration, his father, Brad Pitt , who continues to grapple with strained ties to his children despite reported efforts to reconnect. Knox Jolie-Pitt shines in the ring with his mom Angelina Jolie's support Knox Jolie-Pitt's birthday celebration was anything but traditional. Rather than a lavish party, he stepped into the ring for the IKF Point Muay Thai Technical competition — and came out victorious. Dressed in black shorts and a matching tee, Knox smiled for photos with his coaches, his white mouth guard still in place and a red medal proudly hanging around his neck. By his side throughout was Angelina Jolie, who turned heads in a sleek all-black outfit and signature sunglasses. 'It was just better to control it in a safe place, in a safe way,' Jolie once said in a prior interview with PEOPLE, referring to the lengths she's gone to protect her children from the public eye. As for Brad Pitt, his absence didn't go unnoticed. Reports surfaced ahead of the birthday weekend claiming the Fight Club star was 'desperate' to reconnect with the twins. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo However, no public acknowledgment or appearance was made, and Knox celebrated the day entirely in the company of his mother. The distance between Pitt and his children continues to extend. Three of the kids — Zahara, Vivienne, and Shiloh — have dropped 'Pitt' from their last names, with Shiloh filing legally upon turning 18. Their son Pax previously went as far as calling Brad a 'world-class a**hole' in a now-infamous 2020 Father's Day post, further painting a fractured family portrait. The bitterness between Jolie and Pitt has also extended to legal disputes. Their prolonged fight over Château Miraval, the $64 million French estate they once co-owned, remains unresolved. Pitt has accused Jolie of selling her stake without mutual agreement, a move he claims breached their deal. He's now seeking access to Jolie's private messages to support his case. Despite all the legal and emotional turmoil, Jolie has found strength in her children. While working on the film Maria, she shared how sons Maddox and Pax comforted her during emotional moments. 'They've seen me go through a lot of things,' she told the BBC, 'but then we would hug or they would bring me cups of tea.'
