Traffic impacts to begin the night of April 17:Full closure of North Avenue entrance ramp to I-41 northbound expected through late summer.
Traffic impacts to begin April 18:Single lane closure on I-41 northbound between Mayfair Road and Silver Spring Drive expected through late 2025.
Traffic impacts to begin April 22:Single lane closure on I-41 southbound between Appleton Avenue and Burleigh Street expected through late 2025.
During long-term lane closures, traffic will be reduced from three lanes to two lanes. Traffic may be reduced to one lane only during overnight hours with occasional overnight full freeway. closures, as needed.
894/Loomis Road ProjectTraffic impacts overnight April 13:I-894 eastbound and westbound entrance and exit ramps at 76th Street scheduled to reopen.

Traffic impacts evening of April 11: I-43 northbound exit ramp tunnel to W Kilbourn Avenue to reopen.

Part of Interstate 894 will be closed this weekend. Here's what to know
Sections of Interstate 894 will be closed June 6-9 and June 13-16 as the Wisconsin Department of Transportation continues its roadwork on the highway. Here's a look at the I-894 road closures, according to WisDOT: Westbound I-94 is scheduled to close from the Mitchell Interchange to the Hale Interchange for final paving operations from 11 p.m. June 6 through 5:30 a.m. June 9. Eastbound lanes will remain open. The I-894 westbound exit ramp to Loomis Road closed starting at 9 p.m. June 5. Eastbound I-894 is scheduled to close from the Hale Interchange to the Mitchell Interchange for paving from 11 p.m. June 13 to 5:30 a.m. June 16. Westbound lanes will remain open. The I-894 eastbound exit ramp to Loomis Road will close at 9 p.m. June 12. If there's poor weather, the closure of I-894 westbound will be rescheduled to June 13 to 16 and the closure of I-894 eastbound will be rescheduled to July 18 to 21. Hale Interchange construction in Milwaukee County to begin week of May 27
Work is scheduled to begin the week of May 27 on a multi-year road construction project through the Hale Interchange in Milwaukee County. The work will take place along I-41/43/894 between Lincoln Avenue and 84th Street, according to a statement from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. The project is expected to cost about $22.3 million. The work is scheduled to be completed in late 2026. Work will include: Resurfacing and patching along the interstate between Lincoln Avenue and 84th Street. Repairing multiple bridges within the Hale Interchange. Repairing the parking lot at the Hales Corners Park and Ride. Replacing guardrails and curb ramps. Upgrading signals and lights. Two-way traffic on the interstate will continue during construction, with resurfacing work taking place primarily overnight. Work on bridges will cause ramp closures for about 45 days: Starting in mid-summer, the northbound to eastbound system ramp will close. Starting in late summer, the westbound to southbound system ramp will close. At night, full closures of the freeway, lanes and ramps are expected. The Hales Corners Park and Ride lot along with the MCTS Route 55 stop will remain open for partial use. Waukesha County funding helps elderly, those with disabilities with lift program
The Brief The Aging and Disability Resource Center of Waukesha County helps older people and those with disabilities. The lift program grant is funded by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation. There is no income requirement for this program, but you have to be a Waukesha County resident 18 and older to apply. WAUKESHA, Wis. - There is free money available to help older people and those with disabilities in Waukesha County get around easily. Local perspective Wherever 74-year-old Ann Blackney goes, she needs a little help getting there. But without a boost, her scooter is just too heavy to lift on her own. Blackney has joint pain and Parkinson's disease. Sarah Pfeiffle is the outreach coordinator for Waukesha County's ADRC. The group received $100,000 from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to help add a mechanical lift to the vehicles of eligible residents. "We started this as a pilot program in September of last year," Pfeiffle said. Blackney's lift would have cost her $5,000. The grant covered the entire cost. "We live in an apartment complex," Blackney said. "I could go around the walkways with it, but other than that, I was pretty well stuck." Pfeiffle said there's still money left to help others. And soon, she said, there could be many more people in need. Dig deeper In the next 25 years, Pfeiffle said one out of every three people in Waukesha County will be 60 years or older. Additionally, a recent ADRC study found 14% of people in the county aged 50 and older reported feelings of loneliness. "We know someone who is socially isolated or experiencing loneliness, their risk factors for complicated health issues increase." Blackney said it was only a matter of weeks before her grant was approved. "I'm so much more mobile now. Go out and around," she said. "It's really fun. Really fun!" You also have to have a disability that impairs your ability to drive, ride or access a personal vehicle – or requires the use of a mobility device or transfer aide which cannot be accommodated in a personal vehicle without modifications.
