Newly released footage has revealed the moment a convicted murderer joked with officers before lying about where he hid his victim's body.
Stephen Castle, 59, strangled Wayne Woodgate, 54, after a chance encounter in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, on October 17, 2024.
A trial heard the murder was the result of a long-standing grudge between the pair. Castle blamed Woodgate for telling police about him in 2015.
Castle was previously jailed for seven-and-a-half years after officers raided his home and found firearms.
Police bodycam footage released after Castle's conviction shows him in a happy mood, as he's told he will be arrested for kidnapping.
'Kidnapping, that's a new one for me,' he joked. When asked where Woodgate was, he replied: 'Well, I don't know where the f*** he is, do I?
Moments later, as officers were preparing to leave, he told them: 'He is under my bed in my flat, in a suitcase.'
Woodgate's body was found on the following day in woodland off the A268 in Peasmarsh.
The pair had not seen each other for 10 years before meeting in Tunbridge Wells at around 3:30 pm on October 17 last year.
Woodgate was walking on Goods Station Road, in the town centre, when he was confronted by Castle.
The defendant threatened him and made him enter a Peugeot van driven by another man, a murder trial heard.
The altercation was seen by concerned witnesses who called police, and the van was tracked to Castle's home in Hastings Road, near Matfield. More Trending
Castle was arrested for kidnapping and initially claimed he had met Woodgate before 'dropping him off' at another location.
He had been murdered with a ligature, police said, shortly after meeting Castle, who had driven him to his home.
At Maidstone Crown Court, Castle admitted killing his victim but said he 'didn't intend to'. He denied a charge of murder and pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
Yesterday, a jury found him guilty of murder by unanimous verdict. Castle will be sentenced at the same court on June 26.

Girl, 16, accused of assaulting police after Greater Manchester unrest

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A 16-year-old girl has been charged with assaulting a police officer following unrest in Salford. Mayhem broke out in the Greater Manchester area after a huge gathering on Lower Broughton Road. Bins were strewn across the road, and cars were used to block off the street as young people pulled wheelies in front of a cheering crowd yesterday afternoon. At the height of the disturbance, up to 60 people had gathered on the residential road. Some youth came face to face with police officers, who had been alerted at about 1.30pm after reports of a gathering. Footage shows how masked men drove past a rowdy crowd. A Fiat 500 was seen reversing on the wrong side of the road with its boot open while a man sat at the passenger window with his upper body hanging outside the car. It narrowly passes a Volkswagen, which hits a wheelie bin. Police told people to stay away from gatherings in Salford until this afternoon or they would be 'dealt with.' The disorder led to a spate of arrests, including four teenagers. A 16-year-old girl has been charged with assaulting a police officer during the incident. The girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was bailed and she is due to appear in court at a later date. A 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft and breaching public order, and a man in his 30s was detained on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly and possession of drugs. More Trending Two men, aged 18 and 19, were arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife. Superintendent Marcus Noden said: 'I wanted to provide a further update into the disorder in Salford this afternoon, I would like to stress that there have been no further incidents since our last update. 'We have robust plans in place should any further incidents arise in the area, and our officers will take action like we did earlier on in the day, should we need to. 'A dispersal order remains in place in Salford until 2pm tomorrow afternoon (Thursday 12 June 2025) and anyone who does not abide by the law, will be dealt with.' Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) rapper Silentó sentenced to 30 years for killing cousin

Rapper Silentó has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for the fatal shooting of his cousin, four years ago. In 2021, the musician best known for his viral song Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) was arrested on charges relating to the death of Frederick Rooks. Rooks, 34, was found with multiple gunshot wounds on January 21 and died from his injuries. Silentó, real name Ricky Lamar Hawk, pleaded guilty but mentally ill to the charges and took a plea deal to reduce the charges, as reported by Variety. He pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and concealing the death of another. Another felony murder charge was dropped as part of this plea agreement. Hawk, 27, will serve 30 years in prison but will get credit for time served, having been behind bars since February 2021. At the time of his arrest, his publicist, Chanel Hudson, posted on social media about his mental health issues. She wrote: 'Over the past several years, Ricky has been suffering immensely from a series of mental illnesses. We will continue in his efforts of treatment, but we ask in the meantime the public uplift him and his family in immediate prayer & positive energy!!' He had previously been arrested in 2020 after allegedly wielding a hatchet while searching for his girlfriend. According to police reports of the incident, he had walked into a random house demanding to see his girlfriend until a friend arrived and informed him it was the wrong home. Another alleged incident in late 2020 saw the rapper pulled over on his way from a nightclub when he was spotted driving at 143mph in a 65mph zone. He was reportedly swerving in and out of cars and said he was 'not a regular person' and claimed people were following him. Hawk rose to fame in 2015 with debut single Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae), which was released while he was still in high school. The song and its accompanying dance became one of the biggest trends of the year, reaching number three on the Billboard Hot 100. More Trending Despite some critics blasting the track as irritating, Watch Me earned him a nomination for Song of the Summer at the MTV Video Music Awards. The track was also nominated for R&B/Hip-Hop Song at the Teen Choice Awards the same year, although it did not win either award. Hawk has not seen the heights of fame since, with Hudson claiming he had struggled to cope and attempted suicide in the years after his hit. He confessed to the killing shortly after Rooks' body was found and authorities matched bullet casings to the gun he had in his possession during the arrest. Got a story?
