New Delhi: As the seat-sharing talk is progressing among Bihar's opposition INDIA bloc , there is a growing feeling to look for ways to expand the alliance's social electoral base beyond the RJD 's by-now saturated Yadav-Muslim (Y-M) core base. This, according to sources, has led to hectic bargaining among some existing allies and negotiations with potential new entrants, which have also put pressure on Congress to settle for fewer seats than the 70 it fought in 2020 only to win just 17 seats."The INDIA bloc allies have already exchanged their respective wish lists and now we are in inter-party negotiations. There is a feeling that we need to expand our alliance to appeal to more social segments and that some allies will have to be realistic this time and need to show accommodation", said a senior alliance leader. While Congress leaders are maintaining it's too early to quote its share of seats, there are indications of them having to right-seize their scale to a 45-55 range given allies' pressure. With Bihar Congress now on Rahul Gandhi-led social justice plank, allies are debating whether the party has gained any new base among OBC-EBCs (from RJD/JD(U) hold) or, it will end up losing the remains of upper caste support.Negotiations are on with at least three smaller parties for wooing aggregating social segments. JMM, which leads the ruling INDIA bloc in Jharkhand, is seeking entry into Bihar Opposition alliance by claiming influence in some seats bordering Jharkhand. The Mukesh Sahni-led VIP, which appeals to fishermen-boatmen communities and won 4 seats in NDA alliance in 2020, is negotiating with INDIA bloc by seeking over 10 seats. With NDA housing two Dalit parties - Chirag Paswan-led LJP(RV) and Jitan ram Manjhi-led HAM (and BSP on its own course), the Opposition's need to project a Dalit ally has led to talks with Pashupati Paras-led RLJP despite its uncertain electoral potential.Existing ally, the CPI-ML, which sprung the best strike rate in 2020 by winning 12 of 19 seats it fought, is seeking around 30 odd seats this time by citing its growing base and vote-transfer capacity, it is learnt. The alliance leader RJD (which fought 140 plus seats last time) is also being tested on the bargaining table."Given RJD's saturation at winning 75-80 seats in past two Assembly polls, its poor show in LS election and its need for a larger social-electoral reach in this make-or-break election, will also have to make some space this time for accommodating allies ", said an alliance partner. The CPI and CPI-M may settle for about 6 plus seats each.

Bihar Poll Watch: Video Of Tejashwi Yadav Tutoring Rahul Gandhi Goes Viral
Bihar Election 2025: Two leaders of Bihar's Mahagathbandhan, RJD's Tejashwi Yadav and Congress' Rahul Gandhi, have been campaigning in the state in the run-up to the state assembly polls. Rahul Gandhi reached Bihar on Monday to participate in the Voter Adhikaar Yatra, where Tejashwi Yadav joined him. However, a video from the campaign has gone viral where former Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav is seen tutoring Rahul Gandhi on what to speak. In the video, Tejashwi can be heard reminding Rahul Gandhi the name of former CM Shri Krishna Singh. Singh was the first Congress Chief Minister of the state. After Rahul Gandhi concluded his speech, Tejashwi again reminded him to speak about unemployment and nudged the Congress MP again to ask a question about unemployment. It appeared that Rahul Gandhi went to the campaign unprepared and was caught off guard by Tejashwi Yadav. Watch The Video Here: As commandos Jairam Ramesh and KC Venugopal are not around, Rahul Gandhi is being tutored by Tejashwi Yadav on what to say. — Political Kida (@PoliticalKida) August 19, 2025 Zee News has not verified the video independently. Earlier during the campaign, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav targeted the Election Commission of India and BJP alleging a "collusion" between both sides to steal the voting rights of common people. Tejashwi Yadav was addressing the people during Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's Voter Adhikaar Yatra in Bihar's Nawada. He said that the names of poor people have been removed from the voter list, whereas those who are alive are declared dead. Rahul Gandhi, while addressing the gathering during his Voter Adhikaar Yatra in Nawada, alleged that PM Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah and ECI of snatching the fundamental rights from the people. "There are lakhs of people in Bihar who voted and their names were deleted from the voter list. There is a partnership going on between the Election Commission and the BJP. They are together stealing votes. This is your right and the Constitution gives you this. You fight for this, work hard and Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and the Election Commission are snatching it from you. I, Tejashwi and the rest of the leaders here are standing up and telling them that we will not let you steal even a single vote of Bihar," Rahul Gandhi said while addressing the gathering.

Pakistan sends advanced weapons worth billions to stoke civil war in this Muslim country, 70000 already killed, the country is...
New Delhi: The United Nations has banned the supply of weapons to Sudan, which is suffering due to a civil war. The reason behind this is that the country's army is fighting a civil war, divided into two parts. So far, the Sudan civil war has claimed more than 70 thousand lives. Now, Pakistan has made a deal worth 1.5 billion dollars with the army of north-eastern Sudan. Under this deal, Pakistan will give fighter planes, engines, armoured vehicles and a large number of drones to the military junta led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan. What deal has Pakistan signed with the Sudan armed forces? Pakistan has made this deal at a time when Sudan has been devastated by the civil war, and the army there, trapped in the grip of international sanctions, is continuously aggravating the humanitarian crisis. It is believed that the payment for this deal will be made by a third country. Reportedly, the army in Sudan does not shy away from killing the civilian population, which has resulted in the deaths of more than 70 thousand people, while the actual figure is expected to be more than one lakh. According to ThePrint, this agreement was signed during the visit of Sudan Air Force Chief El Tahir Mohammad El Amin to Islamabad, where he met Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Air Force Chief and other senior military officials. What sanctions have Western countries imposed on Sudan? Pakistan has made an arms deal with the Sudan army at a time when Western countries have banned any kind of arms deal with Sudan. On the other hand, with this arms deal, Pakistan has also got entangled in the ongoing competition between Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). According to the Swiss government's sanctions documents, Sudan Army Chief El Amin has been held responsible for indiscriminate bombing in civilian areas. These attacks caused massive destruction in areas like Khartoum, Omdurman, Nyala in South Darfur and North Kordofan. In May 2023, hundreds of people were killed in air strikes on East Nile Hospital in Khartoum and Babiker Nahar Pediatric Hospital in El-Fasher in May 2024. What did the US say? Earlier this year, the US Finance Department had also imposed sanctions on Al-Burhan, the head of Sudan's army SAF. The US had said that Burhan had dropped bombs dozens of times on the local population, crowded markets, schools and hospitals, killing a large number of civilians. Yet Pakistan has signed an arms deal with the SAF. Pakistan's myth of being a champion of Muslims is shattered This completely exposes Pakistan's dangerous hypocrisy and double standards. Pakistan, which always tries to show itself as a champion of the global Muslim community, did not care that the weapons supplied by it would kill Muslims. The Sudan civil war started in 2023, and till now, more than one lakh people have been killed. According to the report, Pakistan will sell over 10 units of K-8 Karakoram light combat aircraft, engines of MiG-21 fighter aircraft, HQ-9 and HQ-6 air defense systems, armoured vehicles and hundreds of drones to SAF.

Vikarabad district will be renamed Anantagiri when BJP comes to power, says party chief
BJP Telangana president and former MLC N. Ramchander Rao on Tuesday claimed that the party would rename Vikarabad districtto Anantagiri once it comes to power in the next Assembly elections. He also expressed confidence that the BJP is poised to win at least three Assembly seats in the district. During his ongoing tour of Vikarabad, Mr. Rao addressed party cadres at various locations and asserted that the BJP would also secure victory in the Vikarabad municipality elections in the upcoming local body polls. 'No power can stop the BJP from winning the next elections,' he declared, urging workers to campaign vigorously by highlighting the Centre's financial support to Telangana under various schemes and the need for a 'double engine' government. He accused the Congress government of failing to implement its promised guarantees, stating that the past 20 months had shown it to be no different from the BRS regime. 'People are now looking to the BJP with hope,' he said. Mr. Rao criticized the loan waiver scheme, Rythu Bharosa financial aid and fertilizer supply as poorly implemented, and called the Indiramma housing scheme a 'big flop', with very few beneficiaries. He alleged that only those aligned with the ruling party were being selected, citing that out of 14,000 applications, only 73 were approved. He demanded that all eligible poor be considered under the scheme. On the issue of reservations, Mr. Rao reiterated the BJP's opposition to including Muslims under political reservations for Backward Classes (BCs). He argued that the minority community already benefits under BC-B, BC-E, and EWS categories, and that religion-based political reservations are inappropriate, though acceptable in education and employment. Ramanthapur Bandh Over Electrocution Tragedy In a separate development, BJP leaders led by former MLA N.V.S.S. Prabhakar enforced a bandh in Ramanthapur, demanding ₹50 lakh ex gratia and a job in the power sector for the families of those who died due to electrocution during a Janmashtami procession on Sunday. Hypocrisy on BC Reservations BJP spokesperson N.V. Subash slammed Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for his 'hollow claims' of doing justice to BCs, particularly in welcoming Justice Sudarshan Reddy, the INDIA bloc's Vice-Presidential nominee, over the NDA's OBC candidate Radhakrishna. He called the move 'misleading and laughable', asserting that the Congress and its allies lack moral authority to speak on BC justice.
