In the video, Tejashwi can be heard reminding Rahul Gandhi the name of former CM Shri Krishna Singh. Singh was the first Congress Chief Minister of the state. After Rahul Gandhi concluded his speech, Tejashwi again reminded him to speak about unemployment and nudged the Congress MP again to ask a question about unemployment. It appeared that Rahul Gandhi went to the campaign unprepared and was caught off guard by Tejashwi Yadav.

Earlier during the campaign, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav targeted the Election Commission of India and BJP alleging a "collusion" between both sides to steal the voting rights of common people. Tejashwi Yadav was addressing the people during Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's Voter Adhikaar Yatra in Bihar's Nawada. He said that the names of poor people have been removed from the voter list, whereas those who are alive are declared dead.
Rahul Gandhi, while addressing the gathering during his Voter Adhikaar Yatra in Nawada, alleged that PM Narendra Modi, Union Minister Amit Shah and ECI of snatching the fundamental rights from the people. "There are lakhs of people in Bihar who voted and their names were deleted from the voter list. There is a partnership going on between the Election Commission and the BJP. They are together stealing votes. This is your right and the Constitution gives you this. You fight for this, work hard and Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and the Election Commission are snatching it from you. I, Tejashwi and the rest of the leaders here are standing up and telling them that we will not let you steal even a single vote of Bihar," Rahul Gandhi said while addressing the gathering.

India no longer has the appetite to take the first step in normalising ties with Pakistan after repeated betrayals, senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said on Tuesday (August 19, 2025), urging Islamabad to demonstrate sincerity by dismantling terror networks operating from its soil. Bengaluru: Karnataka IT and Biotechnology Minister Priyank Kharge on Wednesday slammed the Centre's decision to impose a blanket ban on online real money gaming (RMG), calling it 'another masterstroke by Modi Sarkar in bad policy making.' Kharge, son of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, said the decision would hit state revenues, jobs and investments. 'India earns Rs 20,000 crore annually from GST and income tax via online RMG. The ban means states lose this revenue stream,' he said in a post on 'X'. The minister noted that over 2,000 gaming startups and more than two lakh jobs in IT, AI and design would be at risk. 'A ban kills India's gaming talent pool and pushes entrepreneurs abroad,' Kharge said, adding that Rs 23,000 crore of foreign direct investment in the last five years could dry up and about Rs 7,000 crore spent annually on ads, data centres, sponsorships and cyber security would vanish overnight. Warning of unintended consequences, the minister said, 'Bans don't stop addiction or suicides. Instead, they push users to unregulated offshore platforms worth Rs 8.2 lakh crore annually where government has no control at all. 'Security risks: Unregulated sites ensure money laundering, terror financing, data theft. Even FATF and Rashtriya Raksha University warn against such risks.' Noting that the Supreme Court is still deciding whether the Centre or states have the power to regulate, Kharge questioned 'Why the rush to ban now?' He said prohibition is not the solution and called for regulating skill-based platforms, enforcing IT Rules, 2021, and whitelisting legitimate operators. 'A well-balanced regulation will ensure jobs, revenue, safer users, national security and global innovation,' he said, cautioning that 'a blanket ban will not only lead to revenue loss, but will give rise to illegal markets that might threaten national security and, of course, there will be a huge innovation setback. Regulation is the way forward.' The proposed promotion and regulation of online gaming bill, cleared by the Union Cabinet on Tuesday, prohibits online money gaming or its ads, and prescribes imprisonment or fine, or both, for those offering or advertising them, as it seeks to differentiate such games from eSports or online social games, according to a source. Born on August 20, 1944, Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by a Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) suicide bomber during an election rally in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu on May 21, 1991. Under his government, India saw the start of the modernisation process in its economy, as he promoted technology, telecommunications, and education reforms. Rajiv Gandhi played a pivotal role in modernising the country's technological infrastructure. His vision helped lay the foundation for India's IT boom in the 1990s and beyond. His government's Computer and IT Policy reduced import duties on computers and software to promote IT growth. His government's policies helped establish the National Association of Software and Service Companies in 1988, boosting India's software industry. His government also encouraged computer education in schools and universities.
