Gulf beaches on yellow alert as rough seas and dusty skies sweep in
The biggest impact? The Arabian Gulf is forecast to see waves of up to 8 feet, with wind speeds reaching 45 km/h—creating choppy conditions especially offshore. Even the Oman Sea, while calmer, will be moderately rough.
This alert will remain in effect until tonight at 10pm, Monday 7 July, and beachgoers, fishermen, and boat owners are advised to stay ashore until conditions ease .
Meanwhile, inland areas—especially parts of Abu Dhabi like Habshan, Liwa, Asab, and Hamim—have been hit by a dust alert. The NCM forecasts dust could reduce horizontal visibility below 2,000 metres, particularly in western regions.

UAE weather tomorrow: Rains to hit some areas; humid conditions likely
After heavy rains brought welcome relief from the scorching heat across parts of the UAE on Saturday (July 26), residents can expect another round of showers on Sunday (July 27), according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The weather will generally be fair to partly cloudy, with a chance of convective cloud formation — especially in the eastern and southern regions — associated with rainfall. It will be humid by night and Monday morning over some western areas. Winds will shift from light to moderate, blowing from the southeast to northeast. They may become fresh to strong at times, especially around cloud activity, leading to blowing dust and sand, which may cause horizontal visibility. Wind speeds will vary between 10 and 25 kmph, with gusts picking up reaching up to 45kmph. The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.

Weather alert issued for Al Ain and Al Dhafra regions of Abu Dhabi
Authorities in Abu Dhabi have warned drivers to take extra care as rain fell in parts of the emirate. Motorists were urged to ensure they drive safely, steer clear of valleys and carry first-aid kits, in a statement by Abu Dhabi Media Office on Friday. 'Various areas of Al Ain Region and Al Dhafra region are expected to witness varying intensities of rain,' the media office wrote on social media. 'The public is advised to adhere to modified speed limits, avoid valleys, carry first aid kits, and prepare alternative light sources.' Earlier on Friday, the emirate's police issued a similar warning on its X profile. 'Abu Dhabi Police call on motorists to exercise caution due to the rainy weather and to follow the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards. Drive Safely,' said the police. The National Centre of Meteorology issued a yellow alert for Al Ain area, which runs until 8pm on Friday. It also released advice for motorists driving during rainy weather. This included avoiding driving altogether unless necessary. Motorists who have to take to the roads should show caution and turn on headlights to low beam, amid poor visibility, said the NCM.
