HR Ministry launches ‘CV Upload' service for domestic workers on Musaned
Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has launched the 'CV Upload' service for domestic workers through the Musaned platform, allowing employers to use it when transferring service of a worker to another employer. The ministry noted that this service is an innovative model designed to facilitate the selection of workers based on their résumé and to enable the smooth and streamlined transfer of services. The process is fully automated, enhancing employers' access to domestic workers already residing in the Kingdom. Through Musaned, domestic workers can upload their CVs once their contract with their current employer ends. The uploaded CVs include details such as job titles and acquired experience, allowing prospective employers to search and select candidates based on skills and job requirements. This measure also helps protect the rights of both workers and employers. This service aligns with the ministry's broader efforts to develop the recruitment sector in the Kingdom. Previously, the ministry launched several initiatives to safeguard the rights of both parties in the contractual relationship, including the Wages Protection Program for domestic workers, mandatory insurance, and the Unified Contract Program, which is binding on both parties and clearly outlines their rights and obligations.

Saudi Arabia starts 6-month grace period to correct status of runaway domestic workers
Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development announced a six-month grace period for correcting the status of domestic workers, who are reported absent from work (huroob), effective from Sunday, May 11. This grace period will apply only to workers who were reported absent before the date of this announcement. The ministry said that the initiative is part of its efforts to regulate the labor market. It allows domestic workers, who have previously been reported as absentees and are still illegally present in the Kingdom, to correct their status by transferring their services to other employers after completing the necessary procedures. This grace period aims to give domestic workers, who are still staying in the Kingdom after running away from their workplace, as well as their employers a chance to correct legal status through automated procedures on the Musaned platform. If a domestic worker was reported absent before May 11, but did not leave the country, they can now transfer to a new employer. The new employer must complete the required steps through Musaned to make the transfer official. New employers can log into the Musaned and complete the procedures automatically, contributing to improving the work environment and safeguarding the rights of both domestic workers and their employers. It is noteworthy that Musaned is the official platform of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development for household services and home employment program, which came into being in 2016. It is one of the initiatives of the ministry to develop the recruitment sector in the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia Tops MENA Region in E-Government Services for Third Consecutive Year in 2024
Saudi Arabia ranked first among Middle East and North African countries in the 2024 Government Electronic and Mobile Services Maturity Index, issued by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), securing the top position for the third consecutive time with a high maturity rate of 96% in the overall assessment. Digital Government Authority Governor Eng. Ahmed bin Mohammed Alsuwaiyan stressed that this achievement reflects the significant support and interest that the wise leadership has given to the digital government ecosystem, which has contributed to enhancing Saudi Arabia's position in international rankings. He also highlighted the pivotal role of integration among government agencies, their reliance on emerging technologies and artificial intelligence, and the launch of initiatives and digital products aimed at improving the beneficiaries' experience. Saudi Arabia has made significant progress since 2020, starting in fourth place, advancing to second in 2021, then taking the lead in 2022 and maintaining it in the 2023 and 2024 editions. This progress is attributed to substantial improvements in digital services across vital sectors such as health, education, and smart cities. Electronic healthcare solutions, such as digital prescriptions, appointment bookings through government platforms, and telehealth services, have improved access to services and increased beneficiary satisfaction. Additionally, digital educational services, including remote learning platforms and electronic university admissions, have enhanced users' ability to access government services with flexibility and high quality. Saudi Arabia outperformed 16 countries in the index, which was based on the maturity assessment of 100 priority government services provided to individuals and the business sector through electronic portals and smart applications. This was measured across three sub-indicators: a score of 99% in the Service Availability and Development indicator, 93% in the Service Usage and Beneficiary Satisfaction indicator, and 99% in the Public Outreach indicator.
