WNBA star Cameron Brink issues furious response to fan who accused her of prioritizing 'red carpets' over ACL injury rehab
Cameron Brink offered an angry response to a fan who accused the WNBA player of prioritizing 'red carpets and schmoozing' over her injury rehab.
Brink, the No. 2 pick in last year's WNBA Draft, has been sidelined since she tore her ACL in a game last June.
And with the forward yet to play for her LA Sparks this season, one fan suggested on social media that her focus was in the wrong place.
'She should've been back on the court now, and something tells me that if she put as much work into rehab as she puts into walking down red carpets and schmoozing, she'd be back by now,' the fan wrote in the comment, which Brink shared to her Instagram story on Monday.
The commenter also wrote that Brink made 'public appearances with no brace, crutches or anything' after her left ACL procedure last year.
And while the former Stanford star claimed she 'usually' doesn't 'give energy to this type of stuff,' she wrote to her 1.4million followers that the commenter was 'not a real fan.'
'I'm working INCREDIBLY hard every day,' Brink wrote. 'I would give anything to be out on the court right now. Basketball is my passion and everything to me… to say this you aren't a real fan.
'Thank you to those who understand ACLs can take a year & giving me grace. I cannot wait until I get to play again.'
Brink, who became a massive beneficiary of the new NIL rules while in college, has kept busy off the court while recovering from her injury.
Last year, she posed for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit's 2025 issue and also went to France for Paris Fashion Week.
More recently, she graced the cover of PLAYERS magazine, as she donned a black suit and opened-up grey undershirt with a cigarette in her mouth.
Skims also modeled for SKIMS last year alongside fellow WNBA players like Skylar Diggins-Smith and Kelsey Plum.
Although Brink has missed her team's first 10 games of the season, she has traveled with the team and cheered them on in some eye-catching outfits.
Her coach, Lynne Roberts, said after a practice earlier this month that Brink was doing on-court work, but added that there was no date set for her return.
The Sparks lost in overtime on Monday to the Valkyries to fall to just 3-7 on the year.
Their next game is at the Aces on Wednesday.

Trump reveals the classical instrument he used to play as a child
President Donald Trump has revealed which classical instrument he practiced when he was a youngster. Speaking with New York Post columnist Miranda Devine on her Pod Force One podcast this week, the president shared that he showed an ear for music at an early age. 'I played, like very short periods of time, the flute,' Trump revealed. 'Do you believe that?' 'I had flute lessons,' the president continued flashing a smile. 'That's the first person that's ever asked me that crazy question. I could have been a flutist,' he joked. The Republican's mother urged a young Donald Trump to take up lessons, he shared. 'I had instructors, an instructor coming to teach me how to play the flute,' he added. He began playing around age 11 or 12 after taking an 'aptitude' test that showed he was gifted musically, Trump said. 'I think I have an ear for music,' the 78-year-old proclaimed. The president has a varied taste in music ranging from disco anthems like YMCA to American classics from Frank Sinatra, and even opera. 'I play great music,' Trump said on the podcast. 'People like the music I play.' Though, when it came to the flute lessons, he shared: 'I didn't particularly like it, wasn't for me.' The Republican admitted that his musical selection was an 'unusual instrument' and that he doubts he can still play. 'They came up to my father, they said, 'your son is brilliant at music. He can be an incredible musician,' Trump recounted to the columnist during a 45-minute interview. 'This is not what my father wanted to hear,' the president continued. 'You know, this was not the greatest thing ever.' The president revealed that as a kid he used to be able to recall which musical notes were played hours before, impressing his teachers. 'They play a note and, like, on a piano, and then I remember to this day, and then they ask you other questions, and then they play notes later on and say which is the note we played from one hour ago. And I'd like get it right, I guess, but that was a long time ago,' Trump said. 'But I do have an ear for music.'
