Customer Experience Live Show Middle East 2025 Charts the Future of CX in the Region
In a region undergoing a digital renaissance, AI — and more critically, AI-powered experiences and Agentic AI — have emerged as the defining force behind customer experience transformation. This paradigm shift took center stage at the Customer Experience Live Show Middle East 2025, the region's most prestigious CX leadership gathering, where the newly released Customer Experience Live Intelligence Report 2025 outlined how enterprises are leveraging intelligent systems to not just automate, but think, act, and adapt independently.
According to the report, a staggering 89% of organizations are investing in both AI-powered experiences and predictive analytics, highlighting an unprecedented leap toward proactive, self-directed customer engagement strategies. Agentic AI, in particular, is gaining traction — these autonomous systems are designed to independently assess, decide, and respond to customer needs in real-time, redefining the very foundation of service delivery. This transition is empowering businesses to move from reactive service models to predictive, hyper-personalised engagement — while freeing human agents to focus on complex, high-value interactions.

The report reveals that 59% of companies are deploying AI agents to enhance responsiveness and automate interactions, while 83% are prioritising operational excellence as a critical driver of CX transformation. At the same time, 69% of businesses are focusing on improving customer engagement and satisfaction, reaffirming that strong relationships are central to long-term success. Additionally, 56% are investing in outsourcing CX support and services, aiming to scale service delivery and improve efficiency.
As 81% of organisations are actively pursuing increased customer satisfaction and retention to remain competitive, it is evident that customer experience is no longer confined to a single department — it has become a strategic business imperative.

Minister Dion George to sign Landmark Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction Agreement on behalf of South Africa at the 2025 United Nations Oceans Conference in France
The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Dr Dion George, will be attending the third United Nations Oceans Conference (UNOC3) in Nice, France and will on 9 June 2025, sign the Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) Agreement on behalf of South Africa. Co-hosted by France and Costa Rica, UNOC3 seeks to accelerate global action to conserve and sustainably use the ocean, in support of Sustainable Development Goal 14: 'Life Below Water'. This year's conference theme is Accelerating action and mobilizing all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean with three main priorities: (1) Advancing multilateral ocean processes and ambition; (2) Scaling up financing for ocean sustainability and blue economies; and (3) Strengthening marine science, knowledge-sharing and decision-making. Minister George and the other Member States are scheduled to formally sign the BBNJ Agreement during a high-level signing ceremony convened by the UNOC3 Secretariat. 'Signing the BBNJ, which is a crucial agreement geared toward strengthening governance in areas beyond national jurisdiction, will mark a significant milestone in the country's ocean governance journey and a reflection of our resolve to contribute meaningfully,' said Minister George. South Africa has developed a robust suite of legal frameworks, aligned with its obligations under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). These include the National Environmental Management Act, the Integrated Coastal Management Act, the Marine Spatial Planning Act, the Marine Living Resources Act, the Biodiversity Act, and the Protected Areas Act. These instruments collectively provide for the sustainable use, spatial planning, and protection of marine ecosystems within national jurisdiction. South Africa also actively participates in regional fisheries management organizations (RFMOs), such as the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC), promoting cooperative, science-based management of shared marine resources. 'In line with our local legal frameworks, the signing of the BBNJ will bolster global ocean governance and help advance our efforts to build our economy, while fiercely protecting our ocean,' said Minister George. South Africa is ahead of the curve because in line with the global efforts to protect the ocean, on World Environment Day, the Minister launched South Africa's inaugural Climate Change Coastal Adaptation Response Plan (CARP). CARP is a groundbreaking climate change national adaptation strategy which seeks to secure the future of South Africa's coastlines and the millions who depend on them. 'Our coastline or coastal cities are at the frontline of climate change, facing severe and multifaceted complexities that threaten livelihoods, communities, economies, infrastructure, and ecosystems,' said Minister George during the launch. In the build up to UNOC3, Minister George will also participate in the Blue Economy and Finance Forum, which is a high-level platform to showcase innovation and finance for ocean-based growth, taking place in Monaco on 7-8 June 2025. The Forum will highlight and promote the critical role that sustainable investment, cutting-edge innovation, and forward-thinking policies play in ensuring the long-term health and prosperity of our oceans and economies alike. Minister George highlighted that the Forum is a vital platform for South Africa, as our ocean and blue economy is a key driver of economic growth, job creation, and sustainable development. Hamdan Foundation advances to judging stage of 2025 Medical Awards after screening 330 submissions
Dubai, UAE: Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences has announced the completion of the screening process for the 2025 Medical Awards, which aim to recognize outstanding achievements in healthcare at both the local and regional levels. According to the awards committee, this year's cycle received a total of 330 submissions from 18 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Egypt, Oman, Iraq, India, Kuwait, the United Kingdom, Qatar, Jordan, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Morocco, the United States, Pakistan, Tunisia, Syria, and Ghana. Following an initial review, 261 submissions advanced to the administrative and technical screening stage, which involved verifying compliance with the award's eligibility criteria and guidelines. Of those, 161 applications were confirmed as eligible and are now set to proceed to the judging phase, scheduled to begin on 2 June and continue until 15 October. The judging process will be carried out by specialized committees comprising distinguished experts in the field. Each submission will be assessed according to the specific evaluation criteria established for each award category. Dr. Salama Al Muhairi, Director of Medical Excellence at Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, emphasized the significance of this stage, noting that the evaluation and screening of submissions adhere to the highest standards to ensure transparency and fairness throughout the process.
