British driver George Russell revealed that Mercedes held a meeting at the team's factory on Monday to determine the cause of the issues with the W16.
Over the past three races, Mercedes has failed to reach the top four, resulting in the team's slide.
The Brackley-based team secured a double podium and a race win in Canada, alongside a sprint race victory in Miami.
Since starting the European swing, Mercedes hasn't been close to matching that performance, not even sniffing a podium.

Photo byRussell revealed that the team will meet at the factory and figure out what has caused these problems, which seemingly came out of nowhere.
"Yeah, it was pretty underwhelming, to be honest," the Brit told Sky Sports F1.
"Because we tend to favour the cooler conditions. So we couldn't have really asked for better weather for us. But we've just had no pace recently. We need to sit down, all of us.
"We're going to have a big meeting this week with all the designers and engineers. To sort of understand the decisions we've made in recent weeks or months. And why we've gone backwards. So hoping for some improvements in Hungary."
Russell finished fifth in the Belgian Grand Prix, but he did get lucky after Lewis Hamilton qualified poorly.
Hamilton showed much better pace in the race, and had he not been so far behind at the start, Russell's spot would have been in danger.
At Silverstone, Mercedes were truly nowhere as Russell got P10 in his home race.
Things are far worse for Kimi Antonelli. The 18-year-old lacks confidence in the car and appears to be dealing with immense pressure.
He has failed to qualify for Q2 on several occasions and looked visibly distraught during a media session after qualifying in Spa.
"Kimi's had a few tough weekends, but he's getting a lot of engineering support from Bono, and the engineers on that side of the garage," Shovlin told the media.
"We as a team are well aware that the thing that we need to focus on is the weaknesses in the car, not the bits that Kimi's struggling with.
"The fact is that George is leaning on all his experience, quite a bit of it, driving difficult cars to get the qualifying laps out of it."
Mercedes will have three weeks after the upcoming race in Hungary, due to the summer break in August, which should allow the team to reset and regain its bearings.

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Score one of two welcome offers for a loaded Sunday sports slate with the BetMGM bonus code NW150. Start your new account with a $150 bonus opportunity or a $1,500 first bet safety net to use for the Wyndham Championship, MLB games or WNBA games. All you have to do is click here to start the easy sign-up process. The offer you receive depends on your location when you sign up for a new account. New users in select states (MI, NJ, PA and WV) will get the "bet $10, win $150 bonus" offer. Users who sign up in other states will get the $1,500 first bet safety net. Both of these promos can be used to bet on any market available across BetMGM Sportsbook. Sunday's sports slate brings plenty of betting options. The Wyndham Championship wraps up with the final round, and MLB and the WNBA both provide a number of intriguing matchups. The Astros-Red Sox game starts a full day of MLB action, and the Tigers-Phillies Sunday Night Baseball game will wrap up a big afternoon and evening across the league. The WNBA delivers five games to bet on, including Liberty-Sun, Mystics-Dream, Fever-Storm, Mercury-Sky and Valkyries-Aces. Sign up in time for Sunday's action to maximize your welcome offer and any in-app promos that appeal to you. BetMGM Bonus Code NW150 For PGA, MLB, WNBA Sunday Let's start with the $150 bonus offer, as that has the important caveat that you must win your initial $10 bet. You should look at a wide variety of markets and find one that you think is likely to settle as a win. This bet could be on the final round of the Wyndham Championship or one of the MLB or WNBA games. Any market will work for this promo, so pick one that you think has a good chance of settling as a win, rather than focusing on a big payout. The $1,500 first bet safety net allows users to bet up to that amount and get a bonus refund if their bet settles as a loss. So, if you bet something like $900 on any market, you will get a large payout if your bet wins. If your bet loses, you will get your $900 stake refunded in the form of a bonus to use later on. BetMGM In-App Opportunities When you are set up with BetMGM Sportsbook, there will be plenty of in-app promos to take advantage of. These often provide profit boosts for MLB games, WNBA games and more. You could also claim any early payout options available. Sleep on Austin Bashi\u00a0at your own risk after UFC on ESPN 71

LAS VEGAS – Austin Bashi met the media Saturday after his first-round submission win over John Yannis at UFC on ESPN 71. Yannis (9-4 MMA, 0-1 UFC) stepped in on short notice to take on the highly touted Bashi (14-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and was a big underdog at the UFC Apex. Bashi showed why when he got his first UFC win with a standing rear-naked choke with about 90 seconds left in the opening round. Bashi was supposed to fight Francis Marshall for his sophomore UFC outing until Marshall pulled out not long before the event. The 23-year-old Michigan-based featherweight said all he cared about was making sure he stayed on the card – and didn't care who the opponent was going to be. Bashi was a heavy favorite when he came through and earned a contract on DWCS this past September. He then was expected to make a splash in his official UFC debut when he took on Christian Rodriguez in January. But as a 3-1 favorite, Bashi dropped a decision for the first loss of his MMA career. He said that experience helped set him up for Saturday's win – and what he wants to happen going forward. 'After that last fight, I saw who my true supporters were, and I saw who was sleeping on me – and there were a bunch of people sleeping on me,' Bashi said at his post-fight news conference. 'This was to prove something to myself – not really to the world, but to prove something to myself how hungry I am and how bad I really want it.' Check out Bashi's post-fight news conference in the video above.
