IndiGo Dividend: India's biggest airline announces ₹10 dividend. Check record date and other details
InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of India's largest airline, IndiGo, announced a final dividend of ₹ 10 per equity share on Wednesday (May 21), alongside the release of its March quarter results (Q4FY25).
In its earnings filing, the company said, 'The Board of Directors of the Company, in its meeting held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, recommended a dividend of ₹ 10 (100%) per equity share of face value ₹ 10, subject to the approval of shareholders at the ensuing Annual General Meeting (AGM).'
Further, the company has fixed August 13, 2025, as the record date for determining the entitlement of members for the final dividend, if declared at the AGM.
For the quarter ended March 2025, the company reported a 62% jump in net profit to ₹ 3,067.5 crore, marking its highest-ever fourth-quarter profit, driven by steady demand for domestic air travel and effective execution of its strategic initiatives.
On the operating front, EBITDAR came in at ₹ 6,948. crore, reflecting an EBITDAR margin of 31.4%, up from ₹ 4,412 crore and a margin of 24.8% in the year-ago quarter.
During the quarter, capacity increased by 21% to 42.1 billion available seat kilometers (ASKs). IndiGo operated at a peak of 2,304 daily flights during the quarter including non-scheduled flights, including non-scheduled operations, as per the company's exchange filing.
The number of passengers carried during the quarter saw a healthy rise of 19.6%, reaching 31.9 million and for FY25, the figure stood at 118.6 million, marking an 11.1% growth over FY24.
For the fiscal year FY25, the company's net profit stood lower at ₹ 7,258.4 crore, compared to ₹ 8,172.5 crore in the previous year, even as revenue from operations rose 21.1% year-on-year to ₹ 21,252 crore.
As of March 31, 2025, IndiGo's fleet comprised 434 aircraft. This included 40 A320 CEOs (of which 14 were on damp lease), 195 A320 NEOs, 135 A321 NEOs, 48 ATRs, and 3 A321 freighters.
Additionally, the fleet had 3 Boeing 777s, 9 Boeing 737s, and 1 Boeing 787 — all on damp lease. According to the company's earnings filing, this represented a net decrease of three passenger aircraft during the quarter.

"Zips Gone, Locks Missing": Furious IndiGo Passenger Posts About Damaged Bags, Airline Responds
A Deloitte senior analyst took to LinkedIn to express his frustration with IndiGo's alleged mishandling of his luggage and subpar customer service. In a scathing post on LinkedIn, Abhishek Kumar detailed his unpleasant experience on a recent flight from Delhi to Hyderabad, sharing photos of his damaged luggage. Upon arrival, he discovered his checked bag was severely damaged, with torn zippers, missing locks, and tampered contents. Mr Kumar also reported that several items were missing, and the bag weighed noticeably less than when he checked it in at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. "Your service quality is dropping faster than the economies of South Sudan and Burundi combined — and trust me, that's saying something. My recent flight from Delhi to Hyderabad was nothing short of a disaster. My luggage looked like it had survived a WWE match — zips gone, locks missing, contents clearly tampered with, and surprise surprise: items missing," Mr Kumar wrote on LinkedIn, along with photos of the damaged luggage. He also noted that his bag weighed over 14 kg at check-in at Delhi's IGI Airport, but by the time he received it in Hyderabad, it weighed barely 13 kg. Mr Kumar expressed his frustration with IndiGo's support team, stating that he had been pursuing them for a resolution with no response, likening it to dealing with an unresponsive party who owes him money, and described their service as pathetic. "I've been chasing your team for a resolution like it's a toxic ex who owes me money — and yet, radio silence. July is around the corner, so do let me know if I need to start a '16 Somvaar' fast to get even a decent response from you," he added. IndiGo responded to the viral complaint, asking him to share his contact details and PNR via direct message so they could better understand his experience and get in touch with him promptly. "Thank you for sharing your PNR and concern in detail, Mr Kumar. Please allow us some time while we look into it. We request your kind patience in the interim," IndiGo replied after his response. Earlier, a Goa-based woman, Vaishali Sharma, lodged a similar complaint with IndiGo after her checked baggage arrived damaged on a flight from Goa to Delhi. Despite repeated follow-ups, she claimed the airline barely responded.

IndiGo to launch direct flights from Mumbai to Almaty, Tashkent, Tbilisi
Domestic carrier IndiGo on Tuesday said it is set to enhance its international capacity to Central Asia with the launch of direct flights to three key destinations -- Almaty (Kazakhstan), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), and Tbilisi (Georgia). The airline said it will commence operations from Mumbai to Almaty July 1, followed by flights to Tashkent from August 1, and to Tbilisi from August 2. IndiGo had launched flights to these cities from Delhi in 2023, and this move marks another step in the airline's commitment to expanding its international footprint and meeting the rising demand for international travel, the airline said. IndiGo will operate four weekly flights to both Tashkent and Almaty, and three weekly flights to Tbilisi, significantly enhancing connectivity between India and the growing markets of Central Asia, it said, adding the new routes are set to boost tourism, trade, and people-to-people ties, while offering customers more travel options across the region. "Building on the success of our Delhi-Central Asia routes, we are commencing direct flights to Almaty, Tashkent and Tbilisi from Mumbai, reinforcing our commitment to connecting India to the world.
