SINGAPORE: Those travelling to Malaysia on Saturday (June 21) can expect up to a three-hour wait to clear customs at Woodlands Checkpoint, said the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
In a Facebook post at around 8.15am, ICA said that there is 'very heavy departure traffic' at the checkpoint due to tailback from Malaysia, with traffic congestion extending beyond Exit 10A of the BKE.
ICA warned motorists that they can expect a queueing time of three hours or longer.
With the June school holidays coming to a close on June 29, traffic is expected to be heavy at both land checkpoints, especially on the weekends.
Earlier this month, ICA reminded motorists about proper road etiquette, warning those caught jumping queues by its officers at the Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints that they will have to make a U-turn and rejoin the queue.
They could also be blacklisted and face further disciplinary action from the authorities. - The Straits Times/ANN

Gridlock at Woodlands: Three-hour wait for JB-bound travellers today, says Singapore's ICA
SINGAPORE, June 21 — Travellers heading into Malaysia today are facing bumper-to-bumper delays, with Singapore's Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) warning of a three-hour or longer wait at the Woodlands Checkpoint. In a Facebook update at 8.15am, the ICA cited 'very heavy departure traffic' caused by a tailback from Malaysia. The congestion has spilled beyond Exit 10A of the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE), causing significant delays for motorists. With the June school holidays drawing to a close on June 29, authorities expect heavy traffic at both Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints to continue, particularly over the weekends. Motorists were also reminded to follow traffic rules. Earlier this month, the ICA said drivers caught jumping the queue will be ordered to make a U-turn to rejoin the back. Repeat offenders risk being blacklisted and could face disciplinary action. The ICA continues to urge travellers to plan ahead, check real-time traffic updates, and remain patient amid the expected congestion.

Johor, Grab in talks to enhance cross-border travel agreement with Singapore
THE Johor government is in talks with ride-hailing company Grab to update the Cross-Border Travel Agreement, aiming to further streamline travel between Johor and Singapore. Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, in a statement today, said the discussions were among the key matters raised during a recent meeting with Grab's senior management. He said the talks form part of broader efforts to enhance the state's tourism and transportation sectors ahead of Visit Johor Year 2026 (TMJ 2026). 'The discussions also explored potential cross-border collaborations involving the Malaysian and Singaporean transport ministries, alongside the role of Grab and other public transport providers in facilitating smoother travel between the two countries,' he said. Onn Hafiz also revealed plans to introduce an integrated physical and digital platform to showcase must-visit attractions in Johor. This initiative, he said, holds strong potential to help tourists access information more easily online and offline, while further boosting the state's tourism sector. 'It will also create new income opportunities for the people, stimulate the local economy and position Johor as a modern, open and globally welcoming state. Insya-Allah,' he said. ‒ June 19, 2025 Main image: Facebook/Onn Hafiz Ghazi
