Hindustan Times4 days ago

The 15-year-old boy, who was allegedly sodomised by his schoolteacher, was threatened by unidentified persons in court when he had gone to record his statement before the judge, his father claimed.
The minor's father said, 'My son was openly threatened by an unidentified person in court on Tuesday. We have already informed the judge, and the police. My son is being pressured and intimidated for speaking the truth.'
The boy's father further expressed his displeasure over the fact that the accused, who is a physical education teacher at his son's school, has not been arrested even four days after the registration of the FIR.
'Police should arrest the accused teacher at the earliest. I demand that the accused teacher gets exemplary punishment for his act,' he said.
The teacher, who was a recipient of the National Teacher Awards in 2018, has been booked under Section 6 (aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) Act and Section 351 (2) (criminal intimidation) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
As per the police FIR, the 15-year-old, a kabaddi player, was staying at the school hostel. He had gone to school for his biometric attendance on May 28 evening when the teacher allegedly called him to his house and sodomised him.
Patiala Police officials said raids are on to nab the accused teacher. They added that probe has also been initiated into the threats received by the minor. On Monday, the Punjab education department had suspended the teacher.

The incident occurred on Saturday, and the police suspect sexual assault based on initial medical observations. According to the information, the girl had gone to visit a relative on Saturday night. However, she did not return home even after two hours. The family then began their search. When she did not come home after a while, we called the relatives and found that she had never reached there. When I began searching for her, someone told me that she had gone to a flat nearby, and someone had called her inside. The owner of the building said that the flat was locked and his brother had the keys. He said that the girl had already left. However, he said that we can check even if we want to. When we proceeded, the owner ran away," the father said. "When I broke the lock, I found my child there in a suitcase," he added. Hyderabad man booked for duping multiple women with marriage promise

HYDERABAD: The SR Nagar police have registered a case against a person accused of cheating multiple women under the pretext of love and marriage. The 35-year-old complainant alleged that the accused, P Shiva, had sexually exploited her and others while posing as a prospective husband. According to the complaint, Shiva initially introduced himself as a candidate who had cleared the police SI exam. Over time, their acquaintance developed into a relationship. In November 2020, Shiva visited the woman's home and assured her parents that he would marry her after completing his police training. However, he later told her that he had received another marriage proposal with Rs 30 lakh as dowry offer. Trusting him, the woman's family gave him Rs10 lakh. Over time, Shiva demanded more money — first for 'training and books,' prompting the woman to pawn her gold chain. Later, he asked for an additional Rs 6 lakh to 'convince his family' for the marriage. Whenever she pressed for marriage, Shiva repeatedly delayed it. When her family confronted him, he insisted on speaking to her privately. During one such meeting at a hotel, he allegedly coerced her into intimacy, promising marriage. While he stepped out to get food, she checked his phone and discovered multiple women's contacts. Upon calling them, she learned that Shiva had deceived them similarly. The final blow came when another woman called her, revealing that Shiva had already been married to her for two years. The police have registered a case under Sections 69 and 318(4) of BNS and probe is on.
