Joey Chestnut downs 70.5 franks to rule at Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest

USA Today04-07-2025
Joey Chestnut returned to the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog contest on the Fourth of July. The "Chompion" eater of Franks is the king again, downing 70.5 hot dogs -- no word on what happened to the other half -- to keep the mustard belt. Second place was 46.5, so Chestnut once again had a Secretariat-like victory margin. After a one-year absence, Chestnut proved he is the man when it comes to ruling the hot dog holiday. "It took physically being here," said Chestnut, who was aiming for between 70 and 77. "Sometimes showing up is the hardest part."
On the women's side, Miko Sudo remained unconquered, devouring 33 Nathan's dogs.

Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce Fourth of July plans, revealed

The post Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce Fourth of July plans, revealed appeared first on ClutchPoints. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce opted for a low-key Fourth of July celebration. Swift and Kelce reportedly decided to hang out in Montana at a members-only resort. They decided to watch the fireworks at Yellowstone Club, according to DeuxMoi's latest newsletter. The singer is known for throwing elaborate Fourth of July parties at her Rhode Island mansion, but for the past two years, the gatherings have been on a hiatus. The last time that Swift hosted a Fourth of July party at her mansion, it was just with close friends Selena Gomez, Este Haim, Danielle Haim, and Alana Haim. In the past, she's hosted larger Fourth of July celebrations with A-listers such as Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Gigi Hadid, Karlie Kloss, Cara Delevingne, Ed Sheeran, and more. In 2024, Swift was on her record-breaking Eras Tour in Europe, where Kelce joined at a few stops and made his award-winning debut on stage in London. While some fans thought that she would decide to revive her infamous party, it makes sense why the 'Cruel Summer' singer decided to stay low-key. Since Swift is not touring this summer, the couple who has been deepening their connection shared that they are enjoying this current season of their relationship. 'It's been a turning point for their relationship in a lot of ways, the source explained to People. 'They're incredibly happy and in sync. There's a calmness and ease to their relationship right now that's been really grounding for Taylor and Travis.' 'Taylor and Travis are soaking up every minute of this slower season together,' the source continued. 'They've been splitting their time between New York, Nashville, and a few quiet getaways, just enjoying each other's company without all the usual chaos. This kind of downtime is rare for both of them, and it's really allowed their bond to deepen.' A source also recently shared that Swift is excited for the upcoming season since she will be able to focus on Kelce entering his 13th year in the NFL. 'Taylor is really looking forward to the upcoming NFL season. Not just because she loves supporting Travis, but because for the first full season since they started dating, she's not juggling a packed tour schedule,' the source told PEOPLE last month. 'This fall will be completely different,' the insider said. 'It's the first season where she's not constantly flying back and forth or working around an entire touring calendar.' Swift and Kelce have been dating since 2023 and debuted their romance at a Kansas City Chiefs game. The tight end will have his first game of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, September 5, 2025, in São Paulo, Brazil. Dennis 'Dee Tee' Thomas's former New Jersey home asks $7.5M

A Montclair, New Jersey residence that was once home to Kool & The Gang's founding member Dennis 'Dee Tee' Thomas is on the market for $7.5 million, Gimme Shelter has learned. That's a staggering 525% increase from the $1.2 million the sellers paid for the property in 2021. The six-bedroom, two-family dwelling at 82-84 Watchung Ave. sits on just under half an acre. It's divided into two townhouses, with three bedrooms apiece. The townhouses are also available for rent; each one asks $18,000 a month. Jacob Snavely The home, which was built in 1908, was lovingly 'restored and renovated to bring it back to its former beauty,' said listing broker Allison Maguire, of Brown Harris Stevens, 'The work that went into the house — from the craftmanship, to the millwork and the design choices — it's just gorgeous,' Maguire said, adding that the seller is 'an extended band family member.' Thomas — an alto saxophone player, flautist and percussionist — died in his sleep at age 70, in 2021. He purchased the home for $374,000 in 1999 and was a beloved member of the Montclair community. Advertisement 'The town's Fourth of July parade would always go by the house and people would wave to him,' said Maguire. The two-time Grammy-winning group is known for its jazzy soul-funk hits like 'Celebration' and 'Get Down On It.' Thomas was with the band for more than half a century from 1964 into the 2020s. Kool & The Gang is still actively touring. Montclair is known for attracting creatives who enjoy the small-town atmosphere within easy reach to Manhattan. Famed residents include make-up mogul Bobbi Brown, who has a hotel in Montclair, and Stephen Colbert, whose show was recently canceled by CBS as Paramount and Skydance merged in a massive $8.4 billion deal. He has also been spotted at local restaurants and playing basketball at Rand Park. The townhomes feature three bedrooms, four baths and one powder room — plus an in-home elevator that connects all levels. There's also a heated two-car garage that could also be transformed into a studio or gym. The offering works as a family compound or it could be used to generate income from one townhouse while living in the other, the listing notes. There's also a sunlit chef's kitchen with a 9-foot island for casual meals. A top-floor bedroom comes with a spa-like bath with radiant floor heating and a walk-in closet. The finished basement can operate as a family room, a guest suite or an office. The house also features a wraparound porch and a backyard.
