Emmerdale star reveals why she has never married after her 'world shattered'

Metro4 days ago
Emmerdale's Natalie J Robb has opened up about her life away from the ITV soap.
The actress, who plays Moira Dingle, doesn't have any children, but adores looking after dogs.
The 50-year-old soap star is also single, and recently spoke about how she doesn't really have any intention of settling down and getting married.
'I don't have any children, apart from furry animals', she said.
'Last year in February, I lost Bronson, my best friend. Never felt grief like it, it doesn't go away. Now Buddy [her new adopted dog] won't stop growing. I just love the companionship of an animal'.
Continuing her chat with the Mirror, Natalie, who was previously in a relationship with her co-star Jonny McPherson, went on to reveal that her mum's divorce seriously impacted her when she was a child.
'I've never been one for marriage. My mum got divorced when I was very young. I think my world shattered when that happened.
'But I don't believe people need marriage anymore. A lot of them have children – that's a marriage in itself. I'm 50 now, I spent a lot of time trying to find love but it wasn't the right thing for me. I should have just been more single then, rather than find something.' More Trending
Natalie's Emmerdale character Moira has faced a stressful few months. After John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) tampered with the slurry tank, the contaminated liquid damaged some of her farmland. It also flowed into the main water supply, leaving the village without running water for days.

Butlers Farm was then dealt with a number of fines as a result. Moira has struggled to pay them off, which has caused Kim and Joe Tate (Claire King and Ned Porteous) to try and take advantage.
The Tates are hoping to buy all of the land that surrounds Home Farm so they can become more powerful than ever before.

It means they need to buy Moira's farm, but whether she'll give up her livelihood after so long remains to be seen.

Prince William and Kate Middleton 'eyeing up move to bigger Royal home'

The Prince and Princess of Wales have reportedly been looking for a new home just three years after moving to Adelaide Cottage. Prince William and Kate Middleton are reportedly on the hunt for a new, grander Royal residence, despite only moving to their current spot just three years ago. The couple moved to Adelaide Cottage in 2022, and while it's a comfortable abode within the grounds of Windsor Castle, it was never expected to be their permanent base, reports the Mirror. The four-bedroom property is relatively modest by Royal standards, and it's understood that they've been discreetly exploring other options, with insiders suggesting they have a preferred choice. Adelaide Cottage pales in comparison to the family's previous full-time residence - a lavish apartment in Kensington Palace - and they're seeking a larger home for their children, George, Charlotte and Louis. It seems that the top contender is Fort Belvedere, a magnificent gothic revival mansion located in Windsor Great Park. Sources told the Mail on Sunday that William and Kate might be considering the 18th Century estate. It was the favourite home of Edward VIII before he abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson. Edward renovated the property, adding a swimming pool, tennis court, and stables. It's a vast estate with a long driveway leading to the entrance and even boasts a moat. It's believed that William and Kate had previously considered the vacant Fort Belvedere before settling on Adelaide Cottage. At that time, they reportedly felt that Adelaide Cottage was more suitable as it was closer to Queen Elizabeth, and they also wanted to provide their children with a more grounded upbringing. However, the situation has evolved and the Grade II listed property could be the solution to their current itchy feet. The Mail source said: "They feel they have outgrown Adelaide Cottage and need somewhere more substantial. This is the perfect new home for them. It has a swimming pool and tennis court, and Charlotte loves playing tennis." Previously, it was suggested that the Wales family could expand their living space through an annex building by Adelaide Cottage, thus avoiding a move. Another insider told the Express: "Nobody knows that there is quite a spacious red-brick annex building that's not being used next door to Adelaide Cottage. It's currently inhabitable and needs extensive renovation works if it were to be used. "Discussions have been ongoing for a while about using the property as part of the overall cottage grounds, but it's just about finding the right time to kick the project off." The Wales family's impending move isn't the only upheaval in the Firm at the moment. Speculation about potential peace negotiations between Prince Harry and King Charles has intensified in recent days. It comes after reports that senior advisers to both Royals were seen at a London meeting. But a Royal commentator was unconvinced that healing the family divide is possible any more. A confidant of Princess Anne had suggested that Harry should have turned to his aunt during his difficult period. But former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond reckons it's now too late for the Duke of Sussex to seek counsel from the Princess Royal or rely on her to repair the fractured bond between himself and his father. Ms Bond claimed Harry had been "extremely disloyal" to the Firm, which wouldn't be looked on well by Anne. She said: "To Anne, loyalty is paramount, and I suspect she feels that Harry has been extremely disloyal to his father, his brother and the monarchy. She might well find that hard to forgive." Video of Morgan Gibbs-White transfer U-turn gets same response from ALL football fans

Tottenham were seemingly closing in on the signing of Morgan Gibbs-White earlier this month but the Nottingham Forest star has now signed a record contract to stay put Morgan Gibbs-White has officially committed his future to Nottingham Forest - just weeks after the attacking midfielder looked all but certain to join Tottenham. ‌ News broke earlier this month that Spurs had triggered a £60million release clause in the 25-year-old's contract. However, Forest were left angered by what they considered to be an illegal approach from their Premier League rivals for one of their most influential stars. ‌ Gibbs-White has since played for Forest in pre-season as all talk of finalising said move to Spurs went quiet. ‌ And the club have now confirmed that Gibbs-White has signed a club-record three-year deal, putting an end to speculation over the midfielder's future. A video showing Gibbs-White and Evangelos Marinakis, the club's owner, was posted online to announce the news. But some mischievous fans have quipped that the Forest star looked like a 'hostage' in said video. One social media user joked: "Nothing like a hostage video with your captor standing beside you so you don't cry for help! #FreeGibbsWhite". Another poster quipped: "Gibbs-White fake smiling with his owner after being held hostage at Forest just like Olise at Palace." A third football fan said cheekily: "A lot of interesting moments throughout this transfer window. Obviously United's chase of players, Liverpool splashing huge cash, Arsenal always in the news, the Isak situation & a lot more. But I didn't expect a Morgan Gibbs-White hostage video. Never a dull moment". Despite the jokes from fans, Gibbs-White said that he was 'excited' for what's next at Forest after the club qualified for Europe last season. ‌ Speaking to the club's official website, he said: "I've felt at home at Forest from the moment I arrived. The support from the fans, my teammates, and everyone around the club has been unbelievable. "I believe in what we're building here – and with the backing of Mr Marinakis and the enormous ambition he has, I want to be part of making something special. I'm excited for what's to come." Forest owner Marinakis, who posed with Gibbs-White in photos celebrating the new contract, said: "Morgan is a special player – not just in terms of talent, but character and mentality. He represents everything we want this football club to be: he is a winner, talented, ambitious, fearless, and proud. "There was significant interest from various clubs, but we were determined to build our future with Morgan at the heart of it. I promised our fans we would not only compete, but grow stronger and stronger every season. Today is another big step in that journey." Gabby Logan recalls crushing low point after brutal Strictly Come Dancing exit

Gabby Logan has cast her mind back to her experiences on the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing - and admits she was left fearing the nation hated her as she failed to secure votes Gabby Logan has candidly reflected on a time she felt she was deeply unpopular. The 52-year-old radio and television presenter is best known for hosting sports programs for the BBC, ITV and Channel 5. ‌ In August this year, she will land arguably her biggest job to date - as a new host of Match of the Day following the exit of controversial footballer Gary Lineker. But it is not just giving her two pence about on-pitch action that has drawn attention to Gabs. ‌ She has also enjoyed a foray into the world of competitive reality shows - popping up to present shows like the diving competition Splash! and celebrity sheep herding show Flockstars. Back in 2007, however, Gabby stepped out from behind her presenting lectern to be a contestants on hit show Strictly Come Dancing. ‌ The star was partnered with professional dancer James Jordan and, being season five of the long-running show, this was the time when Tess Daly and the late Sir Bruce Forsyth were hosts of the show. The judging panel consisted of Arlene Phillips, Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and the late Len Goodman. While Gabby made it through three rounds of the show before she was voted off, she is convinced that she became a hate figure during her time on the ballroom floor. She featured on the series at the same time as her husband, Kenny Logan - was also competing with Gabby's dance partner James' wife Ola Jordan. ‌ Wales Online quotes Gabby saying: "I had an amazing experience on Strictly, I was only on it for a few weeks, but I had an amazing experience — but also, a kind of life-changing experience in many ways." She elaborated: "[It] sounds a bit dramatic, and you hear people going 'Strictly changed my life', but this wasn't in a good way." Giving more clarity, she went on: "When you get voted out of Strictly, it's so shocking, because you go in every week starting to work on your following week's dance, and you don't expect to go home." ‌ And she revealed she was left being "very much aware that people didn't like" her during her time on the show. She also told Jessica Ennis on the Gold Minds podcast: "It was the fact that obviously people didn't vote for me — and it sounds a bit pathetic — but you realise when it's a reality show that it's about whether people like you. And I was very much aware that people didn't like me. ‌ "I was kind of like, they didn't like me enough to vote for me... It was a very sobering kind of experience because in the days afterwards, not only was I dreadfully missing the dancing, but also realising I kind of felt like, 'Oh, what was it about me that people didn't relate to?'" While Gabby and James crashed out in week four, her rugby star husband managed to make it through five more weeks before he too was voted off. Their season was awash with big name star - with Sir Rod Stewart's wife, Penny Lancaster, acting legend Stephanie Beacham, and model bombshell Kelly Brook were among those taking to the dance floor. The finalists that season included EastEnders star Matt Di Angelo and TV presenter Gethin Jones. While Mis-Teeq singer Alesha Dixon proved to be the victor of the show - and later became a judge on the series before being poached to judge on Britain's Got Talent.
