"Canada F1 week always reminds me of this crazy memory. Phone going while chilling in my hotel room late on Wednesday evening, it's Michael ….. 'Sam, what are you doing tomorrow morning?' I replied, 'Well, we are going to the track, aren't we?' Michael then said, 'No, we can go in later. Meet me downstairs at 6 a.m. — we are going skydiving.' … He hangs up the phone. I'm panicking at this point, but I'm not going to say no to my hero.
So off we went and did the jump. This is a very special memory that will stay with me forever. Big thanks to @nicomalley1 for sending me these pics," Sam Bird's Instagram post read on Saturday.
Michael Schumacher, a legendary figure in the Formula One circuit, won a record-breaking seven Formula One World Drivers' Championship titles. He clinched the championships in 1994, 1995, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004.
In 2013, Schumacher suffered a severe brain injury during a skiing accident.
He was placed in an induced coma until June 2014 due to the extent of the injury. Since then, Schumacher has not made any public appearances.
Earlier, Bird had also penned an emotional note to share his feelings about missing an iconic French race. He wrote that post after being forced to skip the 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Bird has been a regular participant at Le Mans since 2014, but he hasn't featured in the race since joining the NEOM McLaren Formula E team in 2023.
Bird had written: 'Le Mans is only a week away!!! Gutted I'm not racing this year in what is my favourite race of the calendar year. The teamwork, dedication, rivalries, the ups and downs of emotions all bubbling up over a 24-hour period. Best of luck to everyone taking part. I hope to be back slinging a car through Porsche Curves soon enough.'
Sam Bird is still hoping for a better season this time.
Bird will next be seen in action at the Jakarta E-Prix, scheduled to take place on June 20 and 21. He is currently in 17th position in the Formula E Drivers' Standings this year, with just 27 points and no podiums.

Arjun Kapoor 'Likes' Ex-Girlfriend Malaika Arora's Post On Love

Last Updated: Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora, who split last year, remain amicable. Arjun recently liked Malaika's Instagram post, surprising fans. Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora parted ways last year; however, they continue to remain on amicable terms. Recently, Malaika shared a series of photos, along with a quote on love on a lazy Sunday. Her photos, which usually receive a lot of traction, were liked by Arjun. This comes as a surprise for their fans as both Arjun and Malaika had limited interaction on each other's social media posts after their breakup. Malaika Arora's Sunday photo-dump consisted of slow morning and self-care time in a comfy pyjama set and bath robe. She then posted photos of her menu through the day and a beautiful dining table decor. One of the posts in the lot was a quote about love, written by poet Rumi: 'I don't love you with my heart and mind, I love you with my soul, incase my mind forgets and my heart stops." Arjun Kapoor was one of the many celebrities to 'like' her post on Instagram. It should be noted that this may hold no particular meaning, as the photos were probably liked owing to their cordial relationship post-breakup. Take a look: Arjun and Malaika dated for nearly six years, before calling it quits last year. While the duo maintained a dignified silence on their breakup, Arjun, during a promotional event for Singham Again in 2024, addressed his relationship status. In a viral video from the event, he was seen telling the crowd that he was now single, 'Abhi single hoon main, relax." Malaika and Arjun had not publicly discussed their breakup, but rumours about their split had been circulating for months. Sources suggested that they had 'run their course" as a couple but would continue to respect each other's privacy. Around the same time, Malaika opened up about ex-boyfriend Arjun's 'single" statement and expressed her desire not to put her personal life in public for discussion. Speaking with the ETimes, Malaika said, 'I am a very private person, and there are certain aspects of my life which I don't want to elaborate on much. I will never choose a public platform to talk about my personal life. So, whatever Arjun has said is entirely his prerogative." Not much is known about Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor's respective love lives as of yet. First Published: June 15, 2025, 17:07 IST
