On Feb. 12, the Seattle Storm announced they had signed veteran guard Erica Wheeler, a former Indiana Fever teammate of Caitlin Clark.

Playing with the Fever in 2024, Wheeler averaged just 3.6 points, 1.8 assists and 1.4 rebounds in 14 minutes per game across 39 outings (two starts).
Having seemingly fallen out of the rotation, Wheeler opted to test free agency at the end of last season.
In Seattle's 2025 campaign, Wheeler has seen that opportunity pay off.
She has bumped her averages up to 9.8 points, 3.6 boards and 3.6 assists in 21.9 minutes per game. The Storm are 5-4.
On Sunday, Wheeler took to X with the message, "…go where you're appreciated and not tolerated!"
This cryptic remark comes mere months after Wheeler's departure from Indiana.
Wheeler entered the WNBA as an undrafted free agent out of Rutgers in 2015.

After brief stints with the New York Liberty and Atlanta Dream, she found her footing with the Fever in 2016.
Wheeler enjoyed some of her best years over six seasons in Indiana, including a 2019 campaign that saw her average 10.1 points, 5.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals per game on route to All-Star Game MVP.
That made her the first undrafted player in WNBA history to win the award.

In Indiana, Wheeler ceded the primary playmaking role to Clark and saw her minutes and offensive usage decline significantly.
By contrast, in Seattle, she's carved out a clear identity.
Her uptick in production and visible impact in Storm wins reinforce that she feels valued in her new environment.

While he began his career as a tackle, Morgan played 185 snaps at guard during his rookie season. Heading into 2025, he is expected to compete for the starting left tackle job in training camp. INDIANAPOLIS — Caitlin Clark made seven 3-pointers and scored a season-high 32 points in her return from a five-game injury absence, and the Indiana Fever handed the defending WNBA champion New York Liberty their first loss of the season with a 102-88 victory Saturday. Clark tied her career high for 3-pointers and added nine assists and eight rebounds as the Fever (5-5) set a franchise record with 17 3s in 35 attempts (48.6%). It was Clark's third career game in which she had at least 30 points, five rebounds and five assists. Last season's WNBA Rookie of the Year had been sidelined with a quadriceps injury. Kelsey Mitchell added 22 points, Lexie Hull had 14 and Aliyah Boston finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds as the Fever reached triple digits for the first time this season. They went 2-3 without Clark. Sabrina Ionescu scored a season-high 34 points on 11-of-20 shooting for the Liberty (9-1), who had been the last unbeaten team in the WNBA.
