Former Chiefs employee sues team for racial discrimination, wrongful termination
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A former employee of the Kansas City Chiefs is suing the organization, claiming he was fired because he is Black.
The lawsuit was filed by Ramzee Robinson in the Western District of Missouri on Sunday. Robinson served as the Chiefs' Director of Player Engagement until February.

Along with race discrimination, Robinson's lawsuit also makes claims of retaliation and tortious interference with business expectancy.
The Chiefs referred FOX4 to a statement provided to Pro Football Talk on Wednesday. 'We can't comment because it's an active legal matter,' Brad Gee, Chiefs vice president of football communications, told Pro Football Talk via text message.'But to be clear, the Chiefs do not tolerate discrimination of any kind. We look forward to the facts of this case coming to light.'
The lawsuit says Robinson worked for the Chiefs from 2016 to 2025, most recently serving as the team's Director of Player Engagement.
Robinson's suit says he made an annual salary of $125,000, nearly $47,000 less (on average) than others in similar roles, before his termination. Robinson claims his requests for salary increases were denied by Chiefs President Mark Donovan because they had 'previously given him raises.'
'As compared to other NFL franchises and/or teams, [Robinson] was paid the lowest salary,' the lawsuit says, 'KC Chiefs paid African-American business employees less than their white counterparts.'
Robinson cites an example of a Black woman who held a management position, making $50,000 per year. But when she asked the Chiefs for a raise and was denied, the lawsuit says she resigned and was replaced by a white woman, who the Chiefs paid $80,000 per year.

The lawsuit says Robinson reported to Vice President of Administration Kristen Krug. He says Krug 'consistently advised [Robinson] to 'stay out of the way' or 'less is more.''
On February 15, 2025, the lawsuit says Krug called Robinson into her office, claiming that he had engaged in 'conduct detrimental to the league.' Krug accused Robinson of attacking his white female coworker and claimed to have seen the incident on security cameras, but refused to show Robinson the video. Following Robinson's firing, the woman he was accused of attacking took over his former role.
The lawsuit also claims the Chiefs denied Robinson a job opportunity with another team, the Houston Texans, which would have also been more pay.
Months before he was fired, the lawsuit says Robinson was pressured into renewing his contract with the Chiefs. But after he agreed to sign a contract renewal, the Houston Texans asked Chiefs management to interview Robinson. The suit claims the Chiefs refused, saying an interview would 'violate his contract'.
Robinson claims he discovered this information after someone from the Texans organization called him personally and asked about it.
Robinson is seeking monetary relief and a jury trial in the case.

Killer Roads In Dallas: What Highways Ranked Among Nation's Most Dangerous?
A new report examining tens of thousands of U.S. roads shows that some Dallas area highways rank among the deadliest in the country. Future Bail Bonds study examined data from 96,000 roads nationwide from 2019 to 2023. Three Dallas County highways ranked among the 150 deadliest roads in the country. The report leveraged the latest National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) data. I-30 was found to be the deadliest roadway in Dallas, recording 76 fatal wrecks during the examination period. Nationwide, it ranked 23rd overall in terms of fatalities and the fourth-deadliest in the state. This is not the first time I-30 has been included on a list of the most dangerous roads. Earlier this year, The Dallas Express detailed a report from that ranked the interstate the fifth worst for fatalities in 2022. According to the latest study, two other local roadways were listed among the top 150 deadliest. Loop 12 ranked No. 115 in the United States, registering 45 fatal wrecks between 2019 and 2023. I-635 was listed at No. 132 in the country, recording 43 crashes during that period. I-15 in San Bernardino County, California, which runs from Southern California to Las Vegas, was considered the deadliest road in the country. The roadway logged 196 fatal car crashes in the reporting period. Within Texas, I-45 in Houston had the highest number of fatal vehicle wrecks at 88. The roadway from Dallas to Galveston was considered the 16th deadliest in the nation. 'From 2019 to 2023, motor vehicle crashes claimed 186,284 lives across 96,257 roads in the United States, underscoring the persistent danger on American roadways,' the report said, per CultureMap Dallas. In 2024, the Dallas City Council passed a measure to lower the speed limit from 70 to 65 miles per hour on a portion of U.S. 75 Central Expressway that is considered particularly dangerous. As part of its Vision Zero plan, the city has targeted eliminating all traffic-related deaths and cutting severe injury crashes by 50% by the end of the decade.

Federal Express founder Fred Smith dies aged 80
Fred Smith, founder of the US parcel delivery giant Federal Express, has died at the age of 80, the company has announced. Mr Smith founded the firm in 1973 having previously served in the US Marine Corps. He ran the company as CEO until 2022. "Fred was more than just the pioneer of an industry and the founder of our great company. He was the heart and soul of FedEx," current boss Raj Subramaniam wrote in a memo to staff. Born in 1944, Mr Smith started FedEx with 389 staff and 14 small planes that carried 186 packages from Memphis to 25 cities within the US. "He was a mentor to many and a source of inspiration to all. He was also a proud father, grandfather, husband, Marine, and friend," Mr Subramaniam said. FedEx now has more than 500,000 employees across the globe and delivers millions of packages a day. Its operations involve 705 aircraft and 200,000 vehicles, according to its website.

Here's what the experts say. While it's unlikely that the U.S. dollar will implode overnight, there are reasons why so many people are concerned. 'Typically, currencies follow interest rate differentials — when bond yields go up, the local currency gets stronger. But in the case of the U.S. dollar, it's been behaving like an emerging market currency: higher bond yields, weaker equities, and a falling currency,' said Christopher Vecchio, global co-head of macro at Tastylive. 'So it's concerning, particularly in [the] context of this relationship unfolding with the Trump tariffs.' Some sources indicate that President Trump could be undermining the U.S. dollar's position as the global reserve currency. In particular, talk about imposing steep tariffs on the country's international trading partners has had a notable impact on the U.S. and global stock markets. It's still important to keep aware of the current issues, like political gridlock and mounting U.S. debt, though. The U.S. dollar could weaken over time, but the idea that it's at the end of its line is still largely based on hype. Right now, the majority of global commerce runs on the U.S. dollar. Last year, nearly half (48%) of all global payments on SWIFT were made in USD. That's up from the 45% it was 10 years ago. 'But here's the rub: the reason why so many other countries use U.S. dollars is because they need to recycle them from America's trade with each country. Trade deficits for the U.S. are surpluses elsewhere, and those surpluses are recycled into USD-denominated assets,' said Vecchio. Things could change, but not right now. 'One can surmise that if the U.S. is reordering the global trade system to, well, trade less with the rest of the world, then the U.S. dollar may no longer be as desirable in time — but that would be a long way off in the future,' said Vecchio.
