Reports: Dolphins, CB Jalen Ramsey agree to explore trade
April 15 - It appears cornerback Jalen Ramsey's time as a Miami Dolphin could be coming to an end.
The Dolphins and Ramsey have mutually agreed to explore trade options, according to reports.
The Dolphins extended Ramsey's contract this spring. Spotrac reported Ramsey's contract has $91.8 over four years remaining, including a guaranteed $21.5 million through 2025.
Ramsey, 30, came to Miami after the 2022 season in a deal with the Los Angeles Rams for a third-round pick and tight end Hunter Long. Ramsey missed the first seven games that season with a knee injury, but he still made the Pro Bowl for the seventh time.
After the 2022 season, Ramsey agreed to a three-year, $72.3 million extension that made him the league's top-paid cornerback, a designation since removed (Texans CB Derek Stingley Jr. makes $30 million annually on his new $90 million contract).
Ramsey is currently due a guaranteed $25.1 million, but a new team would only have to pay him $21.1 million this season. That's because the Dolphins already have paid Ramsey's $4 million roster bonus.
A firm deadline for a deal does not exist, NFL Network reported Tuesday, but Miami is motivated to do a deal before the 2025 NFL Draft on April 24. Dolphins general manager Chris Grier and head coach Mike McDaniel could use the draft to shore up their ranks a cornerback. Miami holds the No. 13 overall pick, and has nine additional selections.

Report: Bengals restart talks with star DE Trey Hendrickson
June 15 - The Cincinnati Bengals and star defensive end Trey Hendrickson have reportedly resumed contract discussions. The NFL sack leader has been at odds with the franchise over the lack of a contract extension, but ESPN reported Sunday that dialogue has picked up. Hendrickson, 30, skipped last week's mandatory three-day mini-camp and is reportedly subject to $105,000 in fines. Hendrickson is slated to earn $15.8 million in base salary in 2025. That pales in comparison to the recent $40 million average deal Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett signed in the offseason. Hendrickson has indicated he won't play without a bump in pay and expressed disappointment in the process in mid-May. "When there's a lack of communication in any relationship, where it's a business or personal relationship, lack of communication leads to animosity, and that leaves my narrative only to me with no clear direction," Hendrickson said May 13 when asked about whether he wants to remain with the Bengals. Hendrickson had 17.5 sacks in each of the past two seasons with that output being the best in the league in 2024. He has 57 total sacks in his four seasons with Cincinnati and has made the Pro Bowl on each occasion. Overall, Hendrickson has 77 career sacks in 110 games (81 starts), divided equally between the New Orleans Saints (2017-20) and Bengals. Dolphins guard James Daniels brought up the 'illegal' mass deportations occurring in the United States as he downplayed the Achilles injury he is recovering from. Daniels, who joined the Dolphins this offseason, is working his way back from an Achilles injury suffered last fall while he was with the Steelers. And when asked about his own challenges, he attempted to put things in perspective as he discussed the immigration raids in Los Angeles. 'I mean, I realize I'm in a great position,' he told reporters. 'You know, Achilles, yes it's unfortunate, but there are people in way worse positions, you know.' 'I think, like especially with what's happening in [ Los Angeles ], you know like people's parents, people's grandparents are being deported illegally, you know. 'Like, I don't have to worry about my mom getting deported or my dad getting deported or my wife getting deported, you know. And I've played a long time. I've made decent money. And so, there's a lot bigger issues that people have on their plate. So for me, going through an Achilles injury is pretty easy.' Daniels is entering his eighth year in the NFL after stints with the Bears and Steelers. He signed a three-year, $24million deal with Miami this offseason and has over $58million in career earnings, per Spotrac. His comments come amid a week of mass deportations and subsequent protests in Los Angeles, with President Trump continuing his stern focus on immigration. The president even deployed troops to the area as some rioters have lit cars on fire. However, the Trump administration later pumped the brakes on its mass deportation agenda, telling ICE officials to pause raids on farms, hotels and restaurants, The significant update was reported by the New York Times, who cited an internal email and three US officials familiar with the situation. Trump also acknowledged on his Truth Social platform hat some of the deportations he's ordered has hurt industries in agricultural, hospitality and food sectors. 'Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace,' he said in a Truth Social post on Thursday morning. 'We must protect our Farmers, but get the CRIMINALS OUT OF THE USA. Changes are coming!' he added. Trump has received criticism in certain corners for his immigration crackdowns, though a large portion of Americans are on board with his policies. A CBS News/YouGov poll conducted last week found that a 55 percent majority liked the goal's of Trump's deportation program, while 44 percent said they liked how he was approaching it.
