IMS to Host ‘Exploring Opportunities in Middle East' Panel April 23rd
IMS 2025's theme is 'Intergenerational Exchange', aiming to bridge the gap between generations in electronic music.
As global attention continues to shift towards the rapidly evolving music scenes of the Middle East, this year's International Music Summit in Ibiza will spotlight the region's potential with a panel titled "A Cultural Evolution: Exploring Opportunities in the Middle East," taking place on April 23rd at 4:15PM on the Outdoor Summit Stage.
Moderated by Billboard's Director of Dance/Electronic Katie Bain, the panel will bring together key voices shaping the future of electronic music across the region, including Timmy Mowafi, Founder of SceneNoise; Ninyaz Aziza, Radio Presenter at MDLBEAST Radio; Hassan Ghazawi one half of Saudi DJ/Producer duo Dish Dash and co-founder of label In Act, Edwin Harb, Senior Label Manager at MDLBEAST Records; and Dolly Makhoul, MENA Director at Believe.
Together, they'll unpack the Middle East's growing influence on the global industry, from Saudi Arabia's explosive cultural transformation and Dubai's rise as a potential 'Winter Ibiza', to the region's deep-rooted yet underexplored dance music heritage.
Building on the momentum from IMS's first MENA edition in Dubai earlier this year, the conversation will dive into the region's booming ecosystem of artists, labels, and events, and explore what's next for one of the most exciting frontiers in dance music today.
The International Music Summit (IMS) is a leading global platform for electronic music, bringing together thought leaders, artists, promoters, and industry professionals from over 50 countries. Founded in 2007 by Pete Tong, Ben Turner, Danny Whittle, and Mark Netto, IMS has become a cornerstone event in the dance music calendar. Held annually in Ibiza, the summit returns from April 23rd to 25th, 2025, at Mondrian and Hyde in Cala Llonga, with this year's theme—'Intergenerational Exchange'—aiming to bridge the gap between generations in electronic music.

Saudi Journalist Gifts Camel to Ronaldo & Georgina for Engagement
Saudi sports journalist Ibrahim Al-Faryan gifted a camel to Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez to celebrate their engagement. Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez are officially engaged, but while most people send flowers, Saudi journalist Ibrahim Al Faryan went with something a little harder to wrap: a camel. Since moving to Riyadh in 2023 to play for Al Nassr, Ronaldo and Georgina have settled into life in Saudi Arabia, making the camel gift all the more fitting. Al Faryan shared the gesture online, calling it his personal gift to the 'great one.' Known for his flair, he once presented Brazilian star Fabinho with a Rolex, but a camel for Ronaldo may be his boldest move yet.
