KMJG 2025 Convoy Completes Tour Of Three KL Parliamentary Constituencies Today
Department of Information (JAPEN) WPKLP Director Associate, Lt Col (PA) Sabarudin Yeop Hamzah, said the convoy's journey from Wangsa Maju to Cheras and Lembah Pantai received a positive response, as people not only turned up to show support but also enthusiastically received the Jalur Gemilang, demonstrating a strong sense of patriotism.
"From this morning until this evening, we witnessed tremendous public support, which reflects the awareness among Malaysians. What we need to do is further enhance this campaign," he told reporters after the convoy's final stop at McDonald's Pantai Sentral Park, Lembah Pantai, here.
He said some 3,000 Jalur Gemilang of various sizes were distributed throughout the convoy, including to members of the public who stopped by via drive-through at the fast-food outlet, to ignite patriotism and national pride ahead of the National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations.
Sabarudin added that the convoy's success was made possible through close cooperation between government agencies, non-governmental organisations and the MADANI community, who united to deliver a message of unity.
"The key to the success of today's convoy was strong cooperation, and I believe this collaboration should continue in the future. If we continue working this way, I am confident that future campaigns will be more effective and impactful," he said.
He added that they also witnessed positive reactions from the public, who welcomed the convoy with cheerful faces and provided good feedback regarding efforts to promote patriotism.
The convoy received support from various government agencies and strategic partners, including the National Security Council (MKN), Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM), Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama), National Film Development Corporation (FINAS), Road Transport Department (RTD), and the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM).
On Aug 14, Sabarudin received the KMJG 2025 Jalur Gemilang from Pahang Information Department Director Rohani Chik after the completion of the Pahang leg of the expedition, which covered five districts over three days.

‘Preserve harmony in govt'

Action must be taken in cases of legal violations, while political disputes should be resolved through proper channels, he said. 'We do not want any incident to force a political decision to be made, as this could disrupt the unity among the 18 parties in the Madani government. In my view, we must separate legal matters from political matters,' he said yesterday after officiating 'Program Santunan Desa' organised by the Community Development Department (Kemas) in Perak. Ahmad Zahid, who is also Barisan Nasional chairman and Umno president, urged all quarters to respect party decisions to maintain tolerance among component parties. 'Do not sensationalise an issue or try to become the most popular figure, only to end up damaging good relations between party leaders and at the grassroots level,' he added, Bernama reported. At another event, he said Felcra Bhd had continued to make history in strengthening national food security through the commercialisation of Felcra's MRQ 107 padi – a local fragrant rice variety that serves as a high-quality alternative to imported fragrant rice. Ahmad Zahid said the Seberang Perak area, covering more than 3,400ha and cultivated using modern methods by Felcra, has shown encouraging performance with an average yield reaching eight metric tonnes per hectare annually. 'We expect production to exceed 27,000 metric tonnes of padi, equivalent to over 16,000 metric tonnes of rice per year, which can meet the needs of thousands of families. Hopefully, this becomes an example for other padi farmers,' he said at the 2025 First Interim Distributable Profit Declaration Ceremony for Felcra Bhd participant projects here yesterday. Also present were Deputy Minister of Rural and Regional Development Datuk Rubiah Wang and Felcra Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Idris Lasim. Ahmad Zahid said Felcra Bhd recorded a profit of RM178mil between Jan to April 2025, an increase compared to the previous year. Of this amount, RM101mil will be distributed to 74,300 participants nationwide in stages. 'I congratulate Felcra Bhd for successfully maintaining a strong performance, with an increase of nearly RM2mil compared to the same period last year. I will be monitoring the profit distribution to all participants across the country,' he said. Idris said the strong performance of the first interim distribution for 2025 was due to several key factors, including efficient estate management and the implementation of cost-saving measures. 'Through effective approaches in the use of fertilisers, pesticides and farm inputs, operational costs were reduced by 15% and yield per hectare increased by 49%,' he said. Idris also said Felcra's palm oil projects recorded an average net profit increase of 81%. While profit distribution rates are influenced by crude palm oil price trends, he said improvements in estate performance remain the primary determining factor.

Sarawak to discuss education autonomy at MA63 talks
KUCHING: Education autonomy for Sarawak will be among the main agendas at the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) Technical Committee meeting, says Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof (pic). The Deputy Prime Minister said among the aspects of education sought by Sarawak in the meeting, which will be held today, is the approval to use English as the medium of instruction, especially in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). 'The main challenge lies in the national policy that sets uniformity in terms of curriculum and language. 'However, one of the approaches that can be considered is to maintain the existing policy with additions, such as the Dual Language Programme (DLP) that is currently being implemented in Sarawak,' he told reporters after attending the Bicara Eksekutif Madani programme here yesterday, Bernama reported. Fadillah said among other matters to be discussed is the cancer centre in Sarawak to ensure better access to healthcare for the people in the state. Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian was previously reported as saying that the proposed centre is expected to have at least 310 beds to meet long-term patient care needs. Fadillah said the figure is higher compared to the initial proposal of 200 beds discussed in a meeting last April, with the increase suggested following recommendations from medical experts and health officials involved in the project.
