Inside Love Is Blind star Ashleigh's glam life as air hostess from travel adventures to surprising nickname

A whole host of singles are looking to find love as a brand new season of Love Is Blind UK returns to screens. ‌ Season two of Love Is Blind UK is set to premiere on Netflix on Wednesday, August 13, with husband and wife duo Matt and Emma Willis returning as presenters. After its success following season one, more hopefuls are looking for their perfect match. ‌ As always, participants will find themselves on many "dates" without ever seeing their potential partner. Basing their compatibility on emotional connection alone, only when they are engaged will they meet face to face to plan their wedding. ‌ And this season promises more drama and conflict and even some love triangles as Netflix teases: " Over several weeks, the newly engaged couples will move in together, plan their wedding and find out if their physical connection matches their strong emotional bond developed in the Pods. "When their wedding day arrives, will real-world realities and external factors push them apart, or will they marry the person they fell blindly in love with? Hosted by Emma and Matt Willis, this series will uncover whether looks, race or age do matter, or if love really is blind." ‌ From professional singers to one hopeful single "following his spleen", this year's cast will see it all. One hopeful is Ashleigh Berry. Ashleigh is 30 years old from Surrey and is a cabin crew manager. Classing herself as a "serial dater", Ashleigh says she is fed up with men who enjoy dating an air hostess but refuse to commit. After being single for four years, she is hoping Love Is Blind UK brings her love. ‌ Netflix teases: "Single for four years, she wants to meet someone who she connects with emotionally and lay down the foundations to start a family. Nicknamed 'combat Barbie' due to her links to the army cadets, Ashleigh is into pole fitness, calisthenics and loves a man in uniform." Calisthenics is a form of exercise that relies on using one's own body weight for resistance, including push ups and pull ups. As a cabin crew manager for Virgin Atlantic, Ashleigh will be seen regularly travelling and meeting new people. With many travel benefits, cabin crew often get to experience different parts of the world, however it can also mean being away from home for long periods as well as irregular hours and jet lag. For some, the extended periods away from family and friends can be a drawback, but some positives can be a dynamic work environment and every day being different. ‌ Ashleigh often updates her own Instagram account, sharing with loved ones her latest travel adventures. Just one example is New York City, where Ashleigh shared a selection of snaps, writing: "NYC heat hits different." Other examples include "smiles, sea and a little sparkle" in the stunning Ibiza as well as "paradise found in Jamaica", as Ashleigh poses against a stunning clear skies and blue sea backdrop. ‌ Ashleigh has also visited Vegas and Turkey along with stunning sunsets in Cape Town, South Africa as well as learning to ski in Italy. Writing on Instagram about the joyous Italian event, she wrote: "Ciao Italy Amazing week spent learning to ski #pizza #chips." Away from her work life, Ashleigh also enjoys pole fitness, often taking to social media to share her progress. Pole fitness is a form of exercise combining strength training and dance and gymnastics, often providing a full body workout. Will Ashleigh find love on the brand new season of Love is Blind UK? You'll have to watch and find out.

What's Happening!! actress Danielle Spencer dies aged 60

Former child star Danielle Spencer has died of cancer aged 60. The American actress was best known for playing Dee Thomas in the sitcom What's Happening!!, which ran from 1976 until 1979. After being diagnosed with breast cancer and undergoing a double mastectomy in 2014, she then faced emergency surgery to relieve bleeding on her brain four years later. It was announced this week that she had died in hospital in Richmond, Virginia, however a cause of death is yet to be shared. 'Dr. Dee, our brilliant, loving, positive, pragmatic warrior, without fail, has finally found her release from the clutches of this world and a body. We celebrate Danielle Spencer and her contributions as we regret to inform her departure and transition from a long battle with cancer,' her friend and former co-star Haywood Nelson wrote on Instagram. 'We have lost a daughter, sister, family member, What's Happening!! cast member, veterinarian, animal rights proponent and healer, and cancer heroine. Our Shero. Danielle is loved. She will be missed in this form and forever embraced.' 'She suffered for a very long time but did it with a great deal of courage,' he also told The Hollywood Reporter. Born in the Bronx, New York, in 1965, Spencer began acting classes aged seven and was cast in What's Happening!! four years later. The show was loosely based on the film Cooley High and although it was originally only planned to air during one summer, it performed so well in its time slot a full season was greenlit. However a year after the show began, the actress was involved in a shocking accident. During the production of the season 2 episode Trial and Error in September 1977, Spencer and her stepfather Tim Pelt were involved in a severe car accident that left her in a coma for three weeks and caused his death. Pelt's fatal injuries were caused by trying to protect Spencer during the crash. She had no memories of the accident and spent six months recovering and undergoing physical therapy. After the series was cancelled in 1979, Spencer and her mother temporarily relocated to Africa. When they returned, she enrolled at the University of California-Davis, where she studied veterinary medicine. However, after syndicated reruns of the 65 What's Happening!! episodes rated well, a sequel series was ordered. More Trending Titled What's Happening Now!!, it saw Spencer return to screens as Dee while also balancing her college degree. After the spin-off was cancelled in 1988, she then attended Tuskegee University Veterinary School in Tuskegee, Alabama, becoming a veterinarian in 1993. Although she largely stepped away from show business, Spencer did play a vet in the 1997 film As Good as It Gets and appeared in Peter Rabbit and the Crucifix in 2001. View More » She also released a book about her life as a child star titled Through the Fire: Journal of a Child Star in 2011. Got a story? BBC Strictly Come Dancing confirms YouTube star as sixth contestant

Strictly Come Dancing has confirmed YouTube star George Clarke as the sixth contestant to join the 2025 line-up of the BBC dance show. Strictly Come Dancing has announced that popular YouTuber George Clarke will be joining the 2025 series line-up. He is the sixth contestant to be revealed this year, following the announcement of EastEnders' Balvinder Sopal as a participant on Good Morning Britain earlier today. ‌ The digital influencer, who boasts a following of 678k on Instagram, is renowned for his podcast T he Useless Hotline with Max Balegde. He has also amassed millions of followers across YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram through his thriving online career. ‌ "Never thought I'd say this... but I'm doing Strictly! Honestly, I've got no idea what I'm doing but I'm excited to get stuck in ... and potentially fall over a fair bit," George expressed his excitement about joining the hit show. This follows rumours about all the celebrities speculated to be participating in BBC's Strictly Come Dancing 2025. ‌ While speaking on Radio 1, George humorously remarked: "I feel like a lot of people will be saying who?" He admitted that it "still doesn't feel real". George then revealed to hosts Sam MacGregor and Danni Diston that he had been keeping this secret for approximately 2-3 months - and even had to postpone his marathon plans for the show, reports the Mirror. ‌ With the new series of Strictly soon to commence on BBC One, the line-up reveal is underway, with the 2025 stars being gradually unveiled throughout the week. It kicked off with Gladiators' Harry Aikines-Aryeetey announcing his participation on CBBC's Newsround on Monday. Later that evening, The One Show played host to three Strictly stars on its sofa - Love Island victor Dani Dyer, Doctor Who's Alex Kingston and footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. ‌ Speaking on The One Show last night, Dani expressed that Strictly will be "the second most amazing thing" she'll have accomplished this year, following her summer wedding to footballer Jarred Bowen. "I feel very, very blessed and cannot wait to get my dancing shoes on," she shared. Meanwhile, ex-premiership player turned football manager Jimmy remarked: "Swapping the pitch for the ballroom is certainly not something I've done before but I'm looking forward to tackling a fun challenge! Bring on a new type of footwork, with hopefully no own goals." Earlier in the week, Strictly's fresh professional dancer Julian Caillon admitted that he once orchestrated a row on the show's Australian version to create more drama. "Reality TV is not necessarily what you think," he revealed on the podcast Try with Alex. ‌ "A massive aspect of reality TV is not really real. I remember in one episode of Dancing With The Stars, one of my celebrities was late to rehearsals and the producers were asking me to go around and pretend that I was frustrated." The lead-up to Strictly has been filled with drama, as the show is said to be investigating allegations that two of its stars have used cocaine. An insider revealed to The Sun after the news broke: "The BBC is taking the allegations really seriously. Bosses are aware of the two stars in question and have a duty of care to make sure they're OK." They further stated: "As per BBC policy, the option of specialised professional support is on the table and will be offered. While drug testing won't happen on the main show, bosses are considering bringing in random checks for the tour next year."
