Walking into the undersea world at MerMazing Mermaids in Puddenhill,
My eyes were drawn to the custom-built aquarium style pool with viewing windows.
I was whisked into a changing room where I squeezed myself into the tightest tail.
Next, it was time to add the heavy, rubber-like mermaid fin.

After a quick transformation, I wobbled my way to the pool's edge.
I was thrown right into the deep end and learned how to
I got used to having the tail very fast but swimming down low was my biggest challenge.
I pushed myself down as low as I could go, kept arms by my sides and focused on exaggerated movements.

After countless attempts, I finally got down deep and felt the tail gliding through the water.
Instructor and owner Lynn Harvey admitted becoming a 'mermaid is harder than it looks' - and I certainly agree.
I'm a professional mermaid - I used to be afraid of water but now I wear a $5k to perform with stars & make $8k per show
She said: 'A girl could be the most fantastic swimmer but if she cannot perform in the window and you cannot connect through the glass it's not going to work here. So she might be work on that.
'Some of them are fantastic in the window but they haven't got the body movements.

'But there's not many people that I couldn't train. I'd know in 10 minutes whether they could be trained or not.
'Some of them I could nearly have them ready in two weeks. Others it just might take a few weeks. It honestly depends on the girl.'
AUDITIONS
Last month, 20 hopeful mermaids-to-be applied to audition to be part of the MerMazing show.
Lynn said: 'About 20 people applied and about eight of them just decided 'oh god I can't do it' and backed out of it there and then.

'I think I called in six or eight of them who I thought maybe had some potential. So that was out of 20."
Some of the auditionees admitted the "reality" of being a mermaid "was a bit too much".
Lyn continued: 'So it's really not for everyone because it's so daunting. They're doing this thing that looks great in a video but it's harder.
'I've had girls that come in and they pick it up straight away and I know on session one that they're going to get it.

'There's other girls take a little bit longer. There's other girls that have the movement but they're not good in the window and their face can't settle.'
ALL IN
The facility welcomes 60 guests per show while mermaids greet the audience with balloons and slushies.
She said: 'I was scrolling on Instagram and a video came up of a mermaid in a window, very like my pool. And I said that's it and I started researching the next morning.'

The former professional boxer explained that once she has an idea, she goes all in.
Lynn began swim training so she could train how to swim as a mermaid.
She said: 'I started training I'd say within three months, my actual swim training.
'Then becoming qualified as a mermaid instructor was probably three months.

'Then I started business courses and marketing courses. I did so many courses back to back.'
Lynn added: 'I just wanted something new to sink my teeth into, something outside the box.'
THE EXPERIENCE
After keeping her new biz on the down low for two years, MerMazing Mermaids was finally launched.
As well as the mermaid live shows, pop-in visits and birthdays, Lynn and the team recently hosted a free show for senior citizens from local nursing homes.

The Ballybrack woman said: 'This was a massive success; they had a ball watching our mermaids.
'They met them, sang and danced with them and got photos with them. It was a very moving and an emotional experience for the elderly residents and all of our staff.
'So much so that we had a meeting and decided to volunteer our time and services to host the next event free of charge.
'We aim to do some of these complimentary gigs a few times a year.'

Little ones can also try out the mermaid swim lessons on Sunday mornings with a qualified swim coach and lifeguard.
Or for those who prefer land, enjoy mermaid chats while getting pampered in the glam zone.

Brooklyn's ‘smugness' in wedding pics show he's got what he wants & David is no longer the alpha, says body language pro
Could David's alpha crown of the Beckham household be about to slip? VOW WOES Brooklyn's 'smugness' in wedding pics show he's got what he wants & David is no longer the alpha, says body language pro BROOKLYN Beckham's vow renewal has been splashed on social media with sweet messages like 'Only love' and 'Forever my girl,' declared under a curated mix of pictures. While the wedding snaps show an array of celebrities celebrating Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn special day - there were a few faces notably missing - his own family and most notably his parents David and Victoria. 6 The pair looked loved up as they renewed their vows three years on from their wedding Credit: Instagram 6 But Brooklyn's family were nowhere to be seen at the event Credit: Getty 6 Instead, pictures show A-list guests and Nicola's family in attendance Credit: brooklynpeltzbeckham/Instagram The second wedding, which took place on August 2 wasn't to mark a notable wedding anniversary - it was just three years after first saying their vows. None of the Beckhams were invited to the lavish ceremony on — presided over by Nicola's billionaire dad Nelson — and only read about it on an American website. But body language expert Judi James says the wedding pictures show the family feud is still on Brooklyn's mind even if they were nowhere to be seen. Speaking exclusively to Fabulous, she said: "In the ongoing custody battle between Victoria and Nicola, Brooklyn and Nicola's smiles here look like the chef's kiss. READ MORE ON BROOKLYN BECKHAM VOW WOES Brooklyn Beckham's vow renewal branded 'a gratuitous display of obscene wealth' "There now appears to be no chance of Brooklyn doing alternate weekends with his mum and his wife, these glaringly powerful poses seem crafted to suggest that he's got what he wants and he's staying put." CLINGING ON Judi notes that in various snaps of their lavish day, Brooklyn clings on to his wife and seems to be trying to prove he has the fairytale life away from his roots. 6 While Nicola poses perfectly, Brooklyn looks like he's clinging on Credit: Instagram/brooklynpeltzbeckham Judi says: "Nicola's smile is pitch-perfect and virtually static throughout here. She is shown looking poised, elegant and happily accepting of his love for her. "Brooklyn meanwhile poses as the besotted groom, placing a tentative and awkwardly-positioned-looking hand on her chest as though barely able to believe his luck as his eyes gaze at her with a look of purring admiration. "Her hands endorse his grasp, covering it with both hands to show off her massive diamond ring." And Judi points out his pose seems to be inherited by his mum, Victoria Beckham. She adds: "It's interesting that Brooklyn shows he has inherited his mother's key body language traits here: Emotional clinginess as he clasps his wife, gazingly lovingly at her face or reaches for a closed-lip kiss to display their love in front of friends and the cameras." Brooklyn Beckham & Nicola Peltz 'renew wedding vows' after 3 years of marriage FEELING SMUG As the pair enjoy the afterparty from the ceremony, Brooklyn and Nicola both posed with a cadre of A-list celebrities who were in attendance. 6 Brooklyn's smug look shows he got his fairytale ending Credit: Instagram/brooklynpeltzbeckham The body language pro says it's another way to signal their picture-perfect life is real. "He's depicting his view of the perfect marriage and immersion in the perfect set of his own A-list friends here," she continues. "The poses suggest he's proving a point as much as flaunting the love story, as though he's so desperate to show a happy ending that he's jumping the gun in terms of successful marriage by about five decades. "The 'We did it!' marriage celebrations are usually reserved for a golden wedding anniversary, not the three year mark. "This looks like the proof of a right decision before the confetti from the first wedding has even settled." Again, Brooklyn has inherited his mum's classic smile that doesn't bear teeth. But at closer inspection, the body language pro says his narrowed eyes show more than just happiness. "This possibly inherited smile trait comes with a narrowing of the eyes from Brooklyn here though, giving that impression of self-satisfaction or even smugness," Judi explains. SO MACHO While many of the snaps included the pair either canoodling or posing with their guests, Brooklyn threw in a few solo pictures of himself at the pool table which Judi notes are carefully curated to show off his 'macho' side. 6 His macho side came out to prove his place in the world, says Judi Credit: Instagram/brooklynpeltzbeckham Judi says: "There is a strong hint here of being competitive with his own dad, David. "Brooklyn seems to want to show off his cool side with the shades and his successful, more macho brand too, leaning over the pool table with his arms splayed and his shirt undone at the neck to register a rather old-fashioned sense of showing alpha traits. "Growing up with a genuine, world famous hero as a dad and 'head' of the household might have made Brooklyn feel determined to prove he can have his own alpha profile. "In other snaps he's walking around with what looks like a whisky glass in one hand to hint at a projection of more old-school macho power."
