Another childcare centre added to accused paedophile's list of workplaces
It comes after four more childcare centres were revealed on Tuesday, broadening the scope of the police investigation.
Childcare giant G8 contacted parents on Tuesday, advising them that the 26-year-old worked at World of Learning in Point Cook, in Melbourne's west, on August 24, 2023.
'Based on our review of our records, there are no records of Mr Brown working at World of Learning Point Cook on any other day. This information has been provided to Victoria Police,' G8 chief executive Pejman Okhovat said in the email to parents.
The company also apologised for not providing the information sooner.
'In the interest of transparency, it was important we inform you of this information as soon as we could and apologise that we were unable to provide it earlier.
'In light of this new information about Mr Brown's presence at World of Learning Point Cook, the Victorian government and Victoria Police may contact you with further information or recommendations and we want to prepare you for that. We don't have any information from any Government authorities to indicate when or how this might occur.'
Neither the Victorian government nor Victoria Police have added World of Learning to their official list of Brown's workplaces on their websites.

Shock new Joshua Brown sacking revealed
Alleged pedophile predator Joshua Brown was sacked from a small childcare operator in May 2021, just months before police allege he offended against children at the Creative Gardens Point Cook centre. In a statement to NewsWire, Wallaby Childcare Centre confirmed it had fired Mr Brown from its Sanctuary Lakes centre while he was on probation. 'The alleged offender worked at our service for a brief period of time, five weeks, in April-May 2021,' the statement said. 'He was terminated in probation, as we felt he did not align with our company standards or values.' The company would not reveal the details of his termination. 'As this is an active and ongoing police investigation we don't want to make further comments and jeopardise any aspects of the investigation,' the statement said. Mr Brown worked in at least 23 centres across Victoria between January 2017 and May 2025. Victoria Police allege the educator sexually abused eight children while working for G8 Education's Creative Gardens centre between October 2021 and February 2024. Credit: Supplied His termination from Wallaby fits a chilling work history pattern of being fired from centres or investigated before moving on to work for other providers. On Thursday, the ABC revealed Nido Education had fired Mr Brown while he was on probation at the company's Werribee centre between June 21 and July 14, 2021. G8 also investigated Mr Brown for two matters unrelated to child sexual abuse. Mr Brown resigned from G8 and would then go on to work at multiple centres run by Affinity before his arrest this year. There is no allegation that Mr Brown offended against children while working for Wallaby, Nido or Affinity. Education Minister Jason Clare, speaking on Sunrise this week, said Mr Brown's work history demonstrated the need for a 'national database' to track workers across the sector. 'The Victorian government and authorities are doing everything they can to track the details of where he worked, but this highlights an example of why you need a database or a register, so you know where all child care workers are and where they're moving from centre to centre,' he said. Mr Clare said work was under way 'right now' for a centralised system between states and territories modelled on schoolteacher registers. Education Minister Jason Clare said state and federal governments were now working towards a national database for childcare workers. NewsWire / Martin Ollman Credit: News Corp Australia 'All states and territories have agreed that we need a national database like this and that we need to speed up the development of it.' Alongside the database, other large-scale changes in regulation are expected to hit the embattled industry in the coming months. Mr Clare has flagged changes to background checks for childcare workers. Mr Brown held a working with children check during his time as an educator. The Victorian government, meanwhile, has moved to ban mobile phones for workers at centres, with the ban set to come into effect in September. Providers will be fined $50,000 for breaching the ban. It has also launched a 'short and sharp' review into childcare safety, headed by former South Australian premier Jay Weatherill, with a report expected back on August 15. The expected ramp up in safety regulations comes as the sector struggles with surging demand and a dearth of available staff. In a United Workers Union survey of childcare workers, launched on June 10, some 77 per cent of educators said they were operating below minimum staffing requirements.

Two men arrested for vandalism of significant Taungurung site
Two men have been arrested for vandalising a culturally significant site in Victoria's Alpine National Park. The rockface at Paradise Falls on Taungurung Country was found damaged in May. "The rockface, at the base of the falls, has been spray-painted with graffiti. The damage was approximately 10 metres wide and two metres high," Victorian Police said. On Wednesday, a 24-year-old man from Rosebud was charged with criminal damage and breaching Victorian Aboriginal Heritage Laws. He was bailed to face Wangaratta Magistrates' Court in late September. A 25-year-old Hastings man was also arrested and had his home searched. Victorian police said he will be charged "at a later date with the same offences". The Tarungurung Land and Waters Council (TLaWC) issued a statement saying they'll work with Parks Victoria to remove the graffiti in a process that would focus on cultural sensitivity, healing and engagement with the Taungurung community. "TLaWC continues to work with Victoria Police and First Peoples State Relations during this investigation," they said. The organisation said it wouldn't be commenting further, instead focusing on "healing Country and supporting community".

Ballarat man Lachlan Young pleads guilty to murder of Hannah McGuire
A man accused of killing Clunes woman Hannah McGuire has pleaded guilty to her murder mid-way through a criminal trial into her death. There were dramatic scenes at the Victorian Supreme Court in Ballarat on Friday when the court was told the jury was being discharged after Lachlan Young, who was on trial for the murder of his former girlfriend, had decided to change his plea overnight. Young previously pleaded guilty to manslaughter and not guilty to one count of murder. On Friday, his lawyer Glenn Casement told the court his client now wanted to plead guilty to the more serious charge of murder. 'Mr Young, you're charged with murder at Sebastopol in Victoria on the fifth day of April 2024, you murdered Hannah McGuire, how do you plead – guilty or not guilty?' Young was asked. 'Guilty,' Young responded as he stared straight ahead. As Justice James Elliott discharged the jury, McGuire's family and friends clapped and embraced.
