Over 1.6 Million Jordanians Have Activated Their Digital ID via the 'Sanad' App According to the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, a total of 1,614,772 Jordanians have activated their digital identity through the 'Sanad' app to date. اضافة اعلان The ministry stated that the update of services through the Sanad app is ongoing, noting an increasing demand for digital ID activation. The app offers access to a wide range of government services provided by various public institutions. Previously, the ministry announced that the option to postpone military service documentation has been made available on a trial basis through the Sanad app, in coordination with the Jordanian Armed Forces. The annual report on the Economic Modernization Vision 2024, issued in February 2025, highlighted key achievements in the information technology sector during 2024. Among them was the digitalization of 1,530 cumulative government services, accounting for 64% of all public services. The government initially launched the 'Sanad' app in February 2020 as part of the fifth executive package of the national economic program aimed at supporting e-government services and improving the business environment. Several updates have since been made to address early challenges faced by the app. Sanad allows users to access services with a unified username and password, instead of managing multiple credentials for different government platforms. To activate the digital ID, users must either visit a Sanad station or activate it through their bank account using a supported banking app, which enables ID activation without needing to visit a physical station. The government aims to reach 3.5 million activated digital identities and complete the automation of all government services by 2025, in line with the public sector modernization plan announced earlier.

Al-Haj Tawfiq stressed the importance of streamlined visa procedures and closer cooperation with the Moroccan Embassy to facilitate business travel and joint trade events. Ambassador Akhrif acknowledged the strength of political ties between Jordan and Morocco but noted that economic relations remain underdeveloped by comparison. He urged both sides to intensify efforts to realize their economic potential, citing Morocco's ongoing development across sectors. He proposed holding a business forum in Morocco to bring together companies from both countries, focusing on promising sectors that could support trade and investment partnerships. Akhrif also highlighted Morocco's investment opportunities and encouraged Jordanian businesses to leverage existing bilateral agreements and participate in trade missions. Chamber board members emphasized the need to implement and update bilateral agreements and memorandums of understanding, noting that deeper cooperation could lead to expanded trade, greater diversification of exchanged goods, and stronger collaboration in tourism, transportation, and logistics. They welcomed the planned resumption of direct flights between the two countries later this year, which they said would improve business mobility. However, they noted that the current sea freight route is inefficient due to its length and called for the development of faster, more reliable transport links.

Al-Majali highlighted that most sacrificial animals in Jordan are of local origin, in addition to imported animals from countries such as Romania, Australia, and Spain. He emphasized that importing from Syria helps balance supply and demand during the Eid season and enhances citizens' ability to purchase sacrifices at reasonable prices. Sacrificial Animal Prices Al-Majali noted that the livestock market in Jordan is witnessing an unprecedented abundance this year, with about 580,000 heads of local and imported sheep available, while the market demand is estimated at only 250,000 to 300,000 heads. He also shared indicative prices for sacrifices: The average price for a medium-sized imported sacrifice ranges between 200 to 225 Jordanian Dinars. The local sacrifice ranges between 220 to 260 Dinars, depending on supply, demand, and availability. He clarified that these prices are indicative, not fixed, and based on market conditions. Prices usually start to drop after the afternoon of the first day of Eid and continue to decline during the following Tashreeq days. Al-Majali urged citizens to shop around and compare prices before buying, noting that there are over 400 livestock sale points in Amman alone, in addition to other sites across the kingdom.
