Parashuram Jayanti holds a great religious significance in Hindu religion. The sixth incarnation (avatar) of Lord Vishnu, Lord Parshuram, was born on this day, that's why the day is celebrated as Parshuram Jayanti. Parashuram Jayanti falls on the Shukla Paksha Tritiya (third day) of the Hindu month of Vaishakha, which often coincides with Akshaya Tritiya. Lord Parashuram Ji is regarded as Bhagwan Vishnu, the universe's preserver, in his sixth incarnation. He was born under the Pradosh Kaal on Tritiya Tithi. The primary goals of Parshuram Ji's incarnation were to lessen the weight on Earth and to get rid of wicked, brutal, and irreligious kings. In order to maintain peace on earth, he destroyed 21 Kshatriyas from Earth. A Brahmin with Kshatriya traits was Lord Parshuram ji. One of the Ashta Chrianjeevi, Parshuram, is still alive and he is believed to still roam the globe, guiding and guarding people who follow the path of truth, and he is the everlasting defender of righteousness (Dharma). He is the one who has the abilities of a Brahmin (sage) and a Kshatriya (warrior), Lord Parshuram is regarded as the warrior sage. The Hindu scriptures state that Bhagwan Parshuram Ji will become the mentor of Lord Kali, one of Lord Vishnu's tenth incarnations, who would educate him martial skills and teach him Shastra and Shaastra Vidhya.

According to the Hindu Scriptures, Mata Renuka and Sage Jamadagni were the parents of Lord Parshuram. Parshuram's name means - Parshu - axe, and Ram - a manifestation of Vishnu. His birth was predestined to get rid the planet of conceited and corrupt Kshatriya kings who had strayed from the Dharma (righteousness) path. Lord Shiva himself became his guru, and gave him spiritual wisdom and holy weaponry. With his magical axe in hand, Parshuram put an end to injustice and brought the cosmos back into harmony.

The smartphone came into her life as a gift from her children, who also became her mentors, introducing her to internet banking and the world of social media and WhatsApp. Ten years on, as vice-president of Sant Nagar Senior Citizens' Welfare Association that has 400 members on a WhatsApp group, Maini has found that even as the mobile phone has opened a world of communication, helping bridge the generational digital divide, it has also created a deeper problem for many urban elderly people. With the younger generation mostly hooked to their devices — laptops and phones— and social media, more and more elderly people are feeling lonely as their children and grandchildren have little time for deeper engagement with them. This clearly comes through in a survey by HelpAge India released on Friday, ahead of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day on June 15. It reveals that a large number of senior citizens already struggling with loneliness and challenges of ageing now also have to contend with problems of the digital age. Air India plane crash: Govt forms high-level probe committee, report to be submitted in 3 months
The government has formed a high-level multidisciplinary committee to examine the causes behind the crash of Air India Flight AI-171 , which was en route from Ahmedabad to London's Gatwick Airport on June 12 and claimed the lives of 241 out of the 242 people on board. 'A High Level Multi-disciplinary Committee is constituted for examining the causes leading to the crash of the Air India Flight AI-171 from Ahmedabad to Gatwick Airport (London) on June 12, 2025. The Committee will examine the existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines issued to prevent and handle such occurrences and suggest comprehensive guidelines for dealing with such instances in the future,' read an order issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
