GymNation Launches 'The Coolest Class' in Dubai to Help Residents Beat the Summer Heat

Daily Mail3 days ago
Innovative fitness experience merges high-intensity training with cold environments to keep Dubai residents active, focused, and refreshed.
Dubai, UAE – June 30, 2025 – As Dubai braces for another sweltering summer, GymNation is offering a bold solution to the seasonal fitness slump with the launch of 'The Coolest Class in Dubai.' This first-of-its-kind workout experience is engineered to help residents stay in shape while escaping the extreme heat, without compromising on performance.
With July and August temperatures often soaring to 43°C (109°F) and humidity exceeding 70%, outdoor exercise becomes nearly unfeasible. GymNation's new class delivers a high-impact, climate-controlled alternative that merges science-backed programming with a unique sensory experience.
'At GymNation, we pride ourselves on being the people's gym—that means listening to our members,' said Rory McEntee, Chief Marketing Officer at GymNation. 'When the heat peaks in the summer, staying active without overheating is a serious challenge. The Coolest Class in Dubai turns that challenge into an opportunity. It's a refreshing, fun way to keep fitness goals on track.'
Why Cold Training?
Cold-environment workouts not only offer relief from the heat, they also amplify physiological benefits. Cold exposure places added demands on the cardiovascular system, improving circulation and boosting heart function. It also builds mental toughness, encouraging focus and resilience in a controlled but challenging environment.
Sports scientist Aderito Manuel explains: 'Training in lower temperatures increases cardiac output and oxygen utilization, resulting in a 5–11% boost in blood oxygen volume. It also activates brown adipose tissue, increasing daily calorie burn by around 300 kcal. Over time, athletes develop higher pain tolerance—up to 17%—and report lower perceived exertion post-adaptation.'
Inside the Class
The Coolest Class in Dubai blends high-intensity interval training (HIIT) with cold-based challenges that are both engaging and effective. Key components include:
Blizzard Sprints – Treadmill runs facing industrial fans for resistance and cooling.
Frosted Reps – Strength training with ice-packed weighted vests.
Glacier Grip Challenge – Farmer's carries with ice buckets to test endurance and grip strength.
Polar Push – Sled pushes using ice blocks to build explosive power.
Chill Zone Recovery – A guided post-workout ice bath designed to reduce inflammation and aid recovery.
Participants are outfitted with insulated gloves and headgear for comfort, while chilled towels are available throughout the class to help regulate body temperature.
Cooling with a Cultural Edge
The name 'The Coolest Class in Dubai' is more than a literal nod to temperature. It reflects a cultural moment: the rise of fitness experiences that are as shareable as they are functional. Searches for 'cool classes' and 'unique gyms' in Dubai have risen 23% year-over-year, reflecting a growing appetite for experiential workouts that break the mold.
This trend aligns with the needs of a generation that values health, novelty, and community.
Now Open to the Public
The Coolest Class in Dubai is open to both GymNation members and non-members, with limited sessions available on Saturdays—July 5, 12, 19, and 26—at select GymNation locations. Bookings and details are available at www.gymnation.com.
GymNation is the region's fastest-growing fitness brand, serving over 120,000 members across 14 UAE and 8 KSA locations, with 30 new sites slated for opening in 2025. Since its founding in 2017, GymNation has been committed to making fitness more accessible, affordable, and enjoyable for all.
With planned expansions across Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, GymNation continues its mission to become The People's Gym—a community-driven space where mental health, physical wellbeing, and inclusive access are at the core of its growth strategy.

This is the second time the EWC has been staged and it comes with a total prize pot of around $70m (£50m). Over a period of seven weeks, teams from around the world compete across 25 popular games, including Call of Duty, Street Fighter and League of Legends. Al-Nassr 'plot new bombshell move for Bruno Fernandes' just weeks after hiring Man United captain's former boss - as manager 'eyes Portuguese link-up with Cristiano Ronaldo and Joao Felix'

Bruno Fernandes has once again been linked with a sensational move to the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Nassr the latest club reportedly vying for his signature. The Manchester United maestro was the subject of a stunning £200million proposal from Al-Hilal earlier this summer after Mail Sport revealed his agent had travelled to Riyadh for face-to-face talks. Fernandes ultimately turned down the lucrative proposal at the wish of Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim, with the midfielder keen to prolong his career in Europe. But, according to Portuguese publication A Bola, Cristiano Ronaldo 's Al-Nassr are now considering tabling an offer for Fernandes. It's thought that the club's new coach Jorge Jesus - who gave Fernandes his Sporting Lisbon debut in 2017 - wants to make him the latest Portuguese star to embark on a Saudi switch. He would join Ronaldo, Otavio and more recently Joao Felix in Riyadh if a deal was complete. After a dismal year at Chelsea and later on loan at AC Milan, 25-year-old Felix made the move this week after Al-Nassr paid an initial £26million transfer fee to the Blues, which could rise to £43m. It would be something of a surprise to United fans if Bruno left now, just a couple of weeks ahead of the club's first game of the Premier League season against Arsenal. Announcing his decision to stay in Manchester in June, Fernandes said in a statement: 'It would have been an easy move. I had Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo there (at Al-Hilal), two people I have a great friendship with. 'But I want to stay at the highest level, play in big competitions, because I still feel capable. 'There was an opportunity. The president called me and asked if I wanted to go there. They were waiting for me. 'I spoke to coach Amorim and he asked me not to go. Manchester United didn't want to sell me. They don't need the money. If I had wanted to leave, they would have made it happen.' The loss of club captain Fernandes would come as a huge blow to United as they look to avenge a dire season in 2024/25. Amorim's side slumped to their worst ever Premier League finish of 15th, which was compounded by a disappointing 1-0 loss to Ange Postocoglou's Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final. Amorim and club officials have so far strengthened this summer with the signings of Bryan Mbuemo and Matheus Cunha, paying around £70m for each player. It's hoped the two Premier League-proven additions will boost a struggling Red Devils front line, which will be almost totally new-look come the start of next season. United are reportedly working on a deal to bring RB Leipzig frontman Benjamin Sesko to Old Trafford, with Rasmus Hojlund potentially going the other way in a swap. But it's thought the Red Devils need to offload players before they make an official bid, with a 'bomb squad' of four outcasts set for exits. While Marcus Rashford has already made his dream move to Barcelona, United are still trying to sort transfers which will see Antony, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia leave the club. The quartet are not with United on their pre-season tour of America. After an impressive loan with Real Betis, Antony has been the subject of interest from Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and the Saudi Pro League this summer, but club officials in Manchester are yet to have received a formal offer. While Juventus are said to be interested in Jadon Sancho, who it's highly unlikely will stay at United after a break down in his relationship with Red Devils supporters. Garnacho meanwhile has reportedly made Chelsea his 'priority' this summer, with the Argentine said to be keen on a move south to London. The Blues however also need to offload players before sending an offer to United.

Inside Man Utd's pre-season tour routine as Ruben Amorim CANCELS double training sessions and stars go undetected in US

RUBEN AMORIM has been so impressed by the dedication of his Manchester United squad that he has CANCELLED the planned double training sessions. In a stark change from the dictatorial regime the United squad endured under former boss Erik tan Hag on their Asian tour last summer, Old Trafford chief Amorim and his fitness team have seen enough to ensure a relaxed environment at their Chicago base. 4 4 And the buy-in from the players has been clear, with a growing feeling that United might, at last, be back on the right track. SunSport has been given an insight into how Amorim and his players have spent their time since arriving in the USA last week. That includes the gym and fitness demands, how he has managed the sauna-like conditions to develop tactical plans and down-time for the players to ensure they are ready to take more on board. Amorim and his staff, aware of how far behind the Prem elite they were last season, were determined to make a flying start when the players returned to Carrington at the start of July. All the first team squad were given pretty detailed and intensive fitness programmes to do during their holidays, including reporting their performance in specific physical tasks. From day one, it was clear to the club's sports science staff, when the numbers clocked matched their reports, that the players had been treating the demands seriously. A bleep test-style sprint exercise, ramping up the requirements, brought extra intensity to the initial sessions, as Amorim and his staff wanted confirmation that the players recognised how much was needed. But the positive statistical feedback was proof that the squad wanted to be part of a new approach, with that push for fitness continuing over the past four weeks. Join SUN CLUB for the Man Utd Files every Thursday plus in-depth coverage and exclusives from Old Trafford 4 The gym work has started at 10:30 each day, with the players gathering for breakfast from 7.30am onwards - although without a rigid timeline, except for Amorim, who has done his own hour's gym work before the players have finished their morning meal. But the coach to training - at Chicago Fire's impressive Endeavour complex - has left on the dot at 9.15am. Sessions have seen a lot of running on the Endeavour pitches, with one nominal 'shooting' drill including stamina work on sprints between the stations. And with the heat in mind, Amorim - with not even the club cameras rolling - has started his tactical work with the squad. That is about making players feel emboldened to make decisions under pressure, with just two or three bullet-point style instructions. Set-piece work is overseen by assistant manager Carlos Fernandes, viewed by Amorim as his trusted confident and second set of eyes - not dissimilar to the role Jose Mourinho had under Bobby Robson at Porto. However, Amorim's initial plans for his side to do two training sessions each day have not been required because of the high fitness levels. That has allowed Amorim to give his players their afternoons largely off, with the extra free time providing an opportunity for them to strengthen their internal relationships. Players have relaxed in cafes and gone shopping - with Chicago offering a relative anonymity they would not get at home. Unlike on previous tours, though, few of Amorim's side have utilsed the games room install at their Waldorf Astoria hotel, mainly as it is sited on the third floor, two stories below the main rooms level. Amorim is understood to believe he needs to treat the players as adults rather than petulant or truculent children, as happened under Ten Hag. Skipper Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire have been influential figures, speaking to the various player groups and staff to help foster the collective environment the manager has been determined to achieve. That has all helped, especially for the players who remember the Ten Hag pre-season tours with a shudder. It is about discipline within an agreed system, rather than a draconian crackdown. That was shown when Ten Hag and his players were in the Thai capital Bangkok. The lifts in their hotel were very slow and with Ten Hag imposing punishments for anybody who was late to attend a meeting or a meal, many of the players ended up using the stairs to ensure they were on time. It meant stairwells packed with players hauling themselves up 40 flights of stairs to get to the dining room. 4
