McDonald's Long-Awaited Chicken Snack Wraps Finally Land This Thursday
Snack Wrap fever
McDonald's Snack Wraps first came out in 2006, and were meant to be a chicken item that would appeal to drive-thru customers. There are different versions, but the basic one includes white-meat chicken strips known as McCrispy Strips wrapped in a flour tortilla with cheese and lettuce with either ranch, honey mustard or salsa. McCrispy Strips are a reworked version of a chicken item formerly known as Chicken Selects.
Zach Ciampa, who regularly covers new food releases under the social-media handle Snach With Zach, said there's been an intense fanbase out there for the wraps.
"Regarding McDonald's Snack Wrap, it's by far the most requested item I've ever seen my audience ask or demand to come back," he told CNET. "Not just the most requested in recent memory, but the most requested of all time. And that's not limited to McDonald's."

Ciampa said the only similar fast-food items that come close to the same level of interest are Dairy Queen's S'mores Blizzard and Taco Bell's Caramel Apple Empanada, both of which have made recent returns.
McDonald's is riding a viral wave. The fast-food chain's Minecraft Happy Meals and adult Minecraft Meals hit restaurants on April 1 and sold out quickly.

McDonald's to test drinks from shuttering CosMc's spinoff at some restaurants
McDonald's is planning to test a new lineup of drinks inspired by its shuttering spinoff brand, CosMc's, at some restaurants later this summer. The fast food giant announced July 25 that roughly 500 select restaurants in some states will be part of an expanded market test for the drinks. The drinks will be aimed at "blending the best of CosMc's creativity with the convenience you know and love." Some of the drinks that will be in the lineup include a Creamy Vanilla Cold Brew and a Strawberry Watermelon Refresher, McDonald's said. CosMc's is a spinoff concept McDonald's announced in 2023 and rolled out last year. In May, McDonald's said it would be closing its five CosMc's locations, in states including Texas and Illinois, but that it planned to test some of the drinks in its regular restaurants. When is McDonald's introducing CosMc's drinks menu? McDonald's said it will begin rolling out market testing of the CosMc's drinks on Sept. 2. It's unclear how long the test will run for. Which CosMc's drinks will be tested at McDonald's? McDonald's said it's planning on including about 10 drinks in the test. Five were teased in the July 25 announcement, including: Which McDonald's will have CosMc's drinks? About 500 restaurants will be included in the market test, McDonald's said. It includes restaurants across Wisconsin, Colorado and the surrounding areas, according to the chain. McDonald's operates more than 14,000 locations in the United States. What is CosMc's? What to know about McDonald's spinoff brand CosMc's is a spinoff restaurant concept owned by McDonald's. While McDonald's launched five CosMc's in 2024, the company previously announced all of them would close on a rolling basis beginning this past June. The name and futuristic aesthetic of CosMc's was inspired by a mascot of the same name who appeared in ads in the late '80s and early '90s. CosMc's menu primarily features beverages including coffees, teas and frozen drinks. Soft-serve ice cream, sandwiches and small food items are also available. Toddler Demands Mickey D's Chips in Car, How Mom Cools Down Goes Viral
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A mom's quick-thinking hack to cool down piping-hot French fries is going viral. In a clip on TikTok (@elllieekate), Ellie Blaisdell captured the all-too-relatable chaos of parenting in a McDonald's drive-thru moment. The text overlay reads: "POV [point of view]: Your toddler is screaming for 'treats' in the back seat and McDonald's chose today to serve the hottest french fries ever." Blaisdell's toddler, in full meltdown mode, was demanding her "treats"—a term that clearly meant the just-purchased McDonald's fries—but there was one major obstacle: the fries were practically molten. That is when Blaisdell had a stroke of genius. Instead of handing back the scalding snack or suffering through another 10 minutes of crying, Blaisdell took the fries and placed them directly in her car's air-conditioning vent. The forced cold air helped cool them down faster, making them toddler-ready in record time. Blaisdell captioned the clip: "Mother's in stem." TikTok users couldn't get enough of the mom's clever fix. The clip has amassed over 621,000 views and a further 46,000 likes. Hundreds commented on the clip, with one user even calling it the "most relatable" thing they had seen on TikTok all day. "Gotta do this next time, so smart," one user wrote. "So real. Anytime we get my son food he ALWAYS get fresh fries. I'm like, but I get old ones," another commented. "I got one fry stuck in my air vent from doing this and can't reach it with anything so it just lives there now," a third added. Many other commenters posted about how they manage with hungry toddlers. "Sometimes I stick the Dunkin' Donuts hashbrown bag out the window and let nature help us out," one user said. "I hold the box out the window while I drive," another wrote. "I hold the fry out the window of my moving car while my 18 month old is crashing out in the backseat like she's gonna starve," added a third. Some users were concerned about what may stick to the French fry, such as dust, when it comes out of the air vent. Blaisdell replied: "Literally what dust? Are we not cleaning our cars and changing our air filters?!? Also he licks his shoes so." File photo: A young Asian girl cries and screams in a car.
