'Spider-Man 4' Confirms Return of Fan-Favorite MCU Hero and Villain

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors Just days after it was announced that "Spider-Man 4," aka "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," was bringing Jon Bernthal in as the Punisher. The new Tom Holland-led film is officially bringing back a fan-favorite MCU hero and villain. More news: John Krasinski Announces "A Quiet Place 3' Release Date Per a report from The Hollywood Reporter, it is confirmed that the new "Spider-Man" sequel will bring back Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. That isn't the only addition, as Michael Mando will also return to the fold to portray Scorpion. It will be interesting how the plot is set up, considering Spider-Man asked Doctor Strange to make everyone forget that Peter Parker is Spider-Man. This includes MJ, Ned, and presumably the rest of the heroes left in the MCU. Tom Holland as Spider-Man. Sony owns the rights to the Marvel character. Tom Holland as Spider-Man. Sony owns the rights to the Marvel character. Marvel More news: Disney Sets Date for Original 'Star Wars' 50th Anniversary Re-Release It would be believed that Spider-Man might have a run-in with Dr. Bruce Banner, and would hopefully not have to fight The Hulk in the process. "Spider-Man: No Way Home" was the last film that Holland appeared in as the Web Slinger and was easily the most brazen. Not only did Doctor Strange make an important appearance and memory wipe, but the comic-loving world got to see the return of Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin, Jamie Foxx as Electro, Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, but Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprised their roles as Peter Parker as well. Marvel has waited a long time to start putting together the next chapter in the Holland-led universe, and it is believed that this may be the final one. Holland has spoken publicly about his desire to move away from the role entirely. There have been plenty of rumors regarding Marvel potentially moving on to feature Miles Morales in the role of Spider-Man, but recent reports indicated that MCU leader Kevin Feige has instructed everyone to not touch Morales until the "Spider-Verse" movies wrap up. Morales has become a mainstay and fan-favorite fixture in comics as Spider-Man, becoming even more popular due to the Sony video games that feature him in a prominent role, and the previously mentioned "Spider-Verse" animated films. It would be great to see him emerge in live-action, but that is likely not to happen for a few years. Whatever the case may be, Marvel has hit home runs with the current Spider-Man films, and the same should be expected from the fourth entry that features Holland. "Spider-Man 4" is due out on July 31, 2026. For more movie news, head to Newsweek Movies.

Dog Can't Hide Her Suspicion Visiting Stranger's House for the First Time

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The day owners bring home their new pet is filled with nothing but excitement and joy, from everyone involved, but one dog showed how skeptical the animals might be of strangers. Reddit user ChrisCrashOut shared on the subreddit channel r/dogpictures earlier this week how his relationship with his new pup started a bit rocky. From the moment he brought her into the car and began the drive home, she showed her skepticism. In the picture, the tiny dog sat on his lap. She first looked up at him with big, round eyes that seemed hopeful for what this new adventure would bring. However, red flags began to rise; who was this human? Squinting her eyes, she looked into his soul, trying to get a read on what his intentions were with her. Little did she know, his only plan was to bring her into her forever home. The owner didn't seem to mind the dog's reservations. He called it a "fair reaction" in the caption because, well, she didn't know him, realizing the potential stranger danger. Plus, she was going to an unfamiliar home. Screenshots from a July 27 Reddit post of a dog sitting in her new owner's lap, giving him a side eye because he's a stranger. ChrisCrashOut/Reddit Her hesitations continued once they arrived home, as she was greeted by unfamiliar dogs in an unfamiliar environment and unfamiliar smells. The entire day became overwhelming. "My other two dogs were very excited to meet her, but she was tired and slept all day," he told Newsweek via Reddit. But after a good night's rest, she knew there was nothing to worry about while being with this so-called stranger. It finally clicked for her: she was home. "By the next day, she was already playing/bullying my other two grown dogs and felt integrated into her new family," he said. What Do the Comments Say? The Reddit post quickly melted viewers' hearts, bringing in 643 upvotes and 17 comments as of Friday. They fell in love with her suspicious reaction and kept calling her adorable. "Bless her little face. I hope she settles fast and you have a peaceful night," commented one person. Another jokingly wrote what the dog was likely thinking: "I mean, you seem nice, but we'll see what kinds of foods and such await. A third said: "How dare you! Unacceptable!" Dog Finds Out They Skipped Starbucks—His No Pup Cup Reaction Says It All

A golden retriever's glaring side-eye is sparking laughter among viewers online, after his disappointed reaction to missing out on a Starbucks pup cup went viral. Beau, a golden retriever in California, was captured on video by his owner sitting in the passenger seat of a car, visibly sulking. In the short TikTok clip, Beau stares ahead, refusing to look at his owner, before glancing back with unmistakable judgment in his eyes. An overlaid caption on the video added more context: "Someone's very upset we passed Starbucks without stopping for a pup cup." The post, shared to TikTok by @_beauthegoldenboy on July 30, has racked up more than 2.8 million views and over 609,000 likes to date. It has left viewers on the platform in stitches over Beau's dramatic display of canine disappointment. "His side eye! Don't worry he got his pup cup!" the video's caption added. A pup cup is a small, dog-friendly treat typically offered at coffee chains like Starbucks—usually a serving of whipped cream in an espresso-sized cup. While not officially on the menu, many locations provide them for free upon request, making them a popular ritual among dog owners during drive-thru visits. The treat is often shown in social media videos, with countless clips showing eager dogs lighting up at the sight of their pup cup, cementing its place as a beloved indulgence in the pet community. The brief video quickly struck a chord with TikTok users, who were quick to comment on Beau's expressive reaction. Several jokingly jumped to his support, pressuring his owner to get him the treat. "Better go back for a pup cup," a third viewer commented. "Hey, I don't like that," another commenter said. "Turn around." "Go back and get this baby a pup cup," one TikToker wrote. "When my [boyfriend] says no to a Starbucks," another said. "This face could ask me to commit wire fraud, and I would have a hard time saying no," a commenter said. "If you didn't turn around for a pup help me dog," said one commenter. "I would fall for that every time," another added.
